  1. This ever going to be fixed. If not why? And whats stopping it being fixed. http://edome.fi.soneraplaza.net/subspace/scores.html
  2. On Linux I offer ssh access with my zones, to allow compilation of modules on the server and i modified one of the scripts that comes with ASSS so that when someone logs in with ssh, they can just type ./start-server& to get the server back up again. ssh is normally installed by default on all linux distrubutions.
  3. a GIANT pupafish might be able to help, ill point him this way u'll need to own the copyright (ie you wrote it) to the song, so it can be used legally.
  4. BUMP still needs fixing
  5. Maybe it should be re!@#$%^&*led Apple Macintosh PC vs IBM Compatible PC but even thats not true any more. They are the same thing. Everything about Mac Vs PC is marketing spin. debate is really "WHICH OS IS BETTER FOR MY X86 PC MACHINE?" Apple OS Microsoft OS Linux OS Other OS (All the weird ones ;P Remember a X86 can technically can run any x86 compatible OS. The only thing stopping it running Mac OS is apples protection. You can probably run Mac OS on a non-apple x86 machine if u worked out how to crack. I've herd rumours this has been done already.
  6. make sure you running in 32-bit Windows XP compatability mode. (i think if u right click u can choose compatibilty modes or something idk i dont have vista)
  7. this amuses me because Macs ARE PCs
  8. guys your !@#$%^&* sucks stop fighting over !@#$%^&*
  9. Whoever fixed the rest and won't own up This still needs fixing: Tech Support Forum Link = http://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=techsupport should link to http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showforum=7 like it did before u broke it
  10. its an alpha guys, its meant to crash
  11. use pagewash.com to visit proxy.org to get the full list
  12. copy paste current wikipedia article reference said article in wikipedia. job done
  13. why don't u try darwine first. Its free and will probably work.
  14. as new Macs are now (intel) x86 you might be able to run continuum using darwine http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=18111 alternativly there is always parallels/bootcamp
  15. I don't think any errors are generated, ive been to most of the SSC zones without problem.

  18. proposed php file template to go on http://rdr.sscentral.com/ would have to be called index.php <?php switch ($_REQUEST["site"]) { case "subspacehq": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "subspacenet": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "techsupport": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "faq": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "reportbug": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "sscentral": header("Location: http://www.sscentral.com "); break; case "scores": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "guide": header("Location: << ??? >> "); break; case "subspacedownloads": header("Location: http://www.subspacedownloads.com"); break; } ?> Noticed someone has just changed something to do with the http://rdr.sscuservers.net/ and most, but not all of the links now work, Be nice if they could reply to this thread, cos some of the links arn't quite right, you broke the technical support forum link which worked before.
  19. Normally it would. I've found a way around this problem I suggest you read this thread, try my patched menu039pr1.dll and see if it DOES cause checksum mismatches. being that i've played in TW for the last 4 hours with this dll installed, without anyone complaining (on my staff and none-staff name i add) i think i've got around it the protection on the dll file. http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=15677 This is possible WITHOUT Prittk. Time to start updating this stuff if he's not going to do it.
  20. Your chance to fix the help menu in continuum. As you may or may not know the help menu is screwed up. What you may not know is how it works basically it directs all requests to one website that then redirects them to the correct location My recommendation would be for sscentral to setup a simple redirector that does this, i can then patch menu039pre1.dll ( http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=15677 ) to use for example http://rdr.sscentral.net/?site= instead of the current old sscuservers.net that doesnt seem to be updated I can also rename these menu items, to new names. So Subspace HQ could become GetContinuum for example links currently used in subspace SubSpace HQ http://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=subspacehq SubSpace Net http://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=subspacenet Tech Forumhttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=techsupport (works still) Tech FAQshttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=faq Report Bughttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=reportbug Subspace Central http://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=sscentral (works still) Player Scoreshttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=scores Players Guidehttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=guide Subspace Downloadshttp://rdr.sscuservers.net/?site=subspacedownloads (works still)
  21. Alternatively do no cheat detection on the server, but do it on the client, Get the clients to do all the checking as they have more processor power space. The clients then report cheating behaviour to the server. It doesn't matter if people use the wrong client as the other clients will find them out and get them banned. Much like distributed computing. Of course this in itself could be abused without some careful security measures....so its a useless idea, but just an alternate view.
  22. well duh! Of course I did, that was the easy bit. I used a resource editor and a hex editor. However I challenge you to resource edit it then get continuum to run. It requires a little more than just resource editing Otherwise i would not have bothered posting it.
  23. BTW this patch is crappy, its more of a proof on concept than anything useful. Just a lil fix for ya'll, more useful for whoever makes the installer as everyone here will know this stuff already. I've fixed the URLs www.subspacehq.com is now www.ssforum.net in the help messages, and the default directory servers, oh and i stuck my name in the about box Still need to work out how to fix the menu links. As far as I know the changes I've made do not trigger RED mod warnings, so won't get you banned in SSC. BUT USE AT YOUR OWN RISK I REPEAT USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - if u get banned not my fault Installing ----------- close continuum. replace your current menu039pr1.dll with mine (make sure u keep a backup) How the **** did u do this ------------------------------- How did i do it, well that's for me to know and you to find out, but anyone with a brain should be able to work out what I did, and probably do it better, i'm quite surprised no one thought of this before menu039pr1.dll
  24. I double staff i guess as I am staff in TW, but i have a pretty much hands off role in PSS (ie im only involved when something breaks)
