Situation with links pointing to hlrse.net/subspace
doc flabby replied to L.C.'s topic in General Discussion
The solution is contact every av vendor on that list and get them to add an exclusion for the affected files. Its not an uncommon problem I have had to submit files before that have been incorrectly categorised. -
I have an idea on how to mitigate this kind of attack in future. It would be somewhat complex to implement however. It would be possible to hide the real ips of the servers from outside though the use of reverse proxy and multiple login servers. in the event of attack it would just be a matter of changing the login servers ips (easy to do as they would be lightweight proxies, rather than whole game servers, and would be easy to spin up in the cloud) It would be quite an effort to implement however....and probably not worth it given the rarity of this kind of event.

Eeep! Any assistance I can provide?

It should work on your Nexus 4. I've tested it on my Nexus 7 and HTC Wildfire S and is built against andoird 2.1 In terms of working with specific zones I will be in touch with the zone owners once it is in a position to release. Access will be something that has to be enabled at a zone level.

There are online games with far less active players than continuum has which are still going strong. I think everyone is being far too negative. Decline is always the natural state of things without innovation...And we have plenty of innovation going on....one of these many projects will come good -
Proof of concept Very buggy and only connects to the test zone (despite what the UI says https://github.com/kshade2001/Subspace-Mobile/blob/master/bin/SubspaceRedemption.apk?raw=true

I can't post using chrome for some reason

Why not create a new skin in russian first. http://continuumskins.s5.com/tutorial.html If that goes well you can use this application http://www.resedit.net to edit menu040.dll Send me a copy after you've editted it and I can try preparing it to work with Continuum. (worth just translating one bit to test first, in case it doesn't work) I don't think it will be possible to translate all of it but some would be better than none?

Alot of this work has been done for you already, if you look though some of the code in the subspace2 project, I used open GL to project the maps into 3d, Its written mostly in c# but there is some c/c++ code. Also descretion is worth a look as it sounds similar in design. We stand on the shoulders of giants

Source is available http://subspace2.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/subspace2/Central/trunk/ for the one I run at ssdir.playsubspace.com if anyone wants to fix the bugs in it

Please someone update Continuum 4.0 for Linux How-To
doc flabby replied to Kyll's topic in General Discussion
I've made build a kernel32.so.dll file against wine 1.15.10 Let me know how you get on as I don't have a gui installed on the server to test against. If this is successful, I will upload to my server also kernel32.dll.zip -

I'll see if i can provide some more up to date instructions. Edit: Had a quick look and looks like just need to add this line to line 2884 in process.c (the current diff has the wrong line number) if (access & PROCESS_VM_WRITE) return NULL; Will make a build.... -
Funny thing this is exactly where I got stuck with my subspace2 client. Collision Outcomes (what happens when a collision is detected) Detecting collisions is easy...its working out what happens afterwards is whats hard... Network Latency (taking into account ping times etc for collision detection) If anyone can crack either of these (and its defiantly possible...because it happens in ss, its just hard to find decent information anywhere about how to do these well (like in subspace) Its a bit like a secret no one wants to tell

I find it a little sick to celebrate the death of anyone. "Justice" should not be dealt out by the end of a gun...it makes us no better than the terrorists who deliver "justice" with a bomb... It seems a very stupid operation. Killing him isn't going to change anything, he has ceased to be relevant, and no doubt operations organised by him in the last 10 years are in progress now. Would have been better to capture him, and stick him in guantanamo than put a bullet though his head, just in terms of the intelligence you could have gained on future (an on going) operations.
