Avast, while I get your point, your argument about level 1 versus level 2 weapons isn't entirely accurate. Pea Shooter is the single most efficient gun in Hyperspace, and isn't by definition inferior to other weapons stat-wise. Sure, the damage output of most level 1 weapons isn't that large, but there are plenty of exceptions: shredder, salvo, binary cannon, level one shrapnel bombs like falcon and phoenix.. In short: level 2 is not better than level 1, it all depends on the gun or bomb itself.

New item set? What's a new item set?

We don't call them bots. UB-A_Bot is a user-owned bot which has no connection to the zone itself at all. Other than an internet connection that is User bots are just automated chat clients. Have you considered reading F1? Why use a bot to say all that if there's that neat arrangement of informative pages. If they're outdated, it makes more sense to make them up to date again than it does to move its task to a 'bot' or module.

Raising the exp cap too much makes it too beneficial to wait a month or so after a reset to start playing. That's the main reason I guess. And there's the fact that we simply don't want progress to be too fast, or the zone will get boring quickly. It's also not much of a solution, new players don't really leave because climbing up the experience ladder is slow, they generally leave because they consider it unfair that they get ganked by people with ships that have double the stats theirs do.

I don't really get what Cheese means by that edit? All I said was that currently Ceiu's bot subtracts deaths from your kill count, and that to make it work for both parasite and nano, the only required change is tracking kills and deaths separately and letting the player know both when they request 'info' on parasite/nano. Reading comprehension is a good skill, Cheese. Work on it. Edit: Although the funniest part is that he defends the error in his !transfer code by claiming I somehow put my balance at $99 before this, and then started transferring. Look in your bot logs, which I assume your ultra secure bank bot has. You'll see that your bot probably subtracts the 'tax' (lol, why would anyone use a bot that taxes you over ?give? Oo you can use it while the other guy is offline! So worth paying Cheese! for!) twice or something

Feel free to suggest solutions to the 'newbies are infinitely weaker than everyone else and therefore have a hard time getting experience if they enter the 'season' late' issue. Experience caps on items or starter ships/loans aren't new, so something more original would be appreciated.

You kind of failed at trolling, Cheese. It does track nano, it just doesn't track parasite. And it's not particularly difficult to replace the single tracked variable which goes up with kills and down with deaths, by two variables of which one goes up with kills and the other goes down with deaths.. Edit: Whoa, Cheese's bot is not only broken, it even scams users with every feature it has: Spidernl> !transfer spidernl:100 UB-SuperBa> Successfully transferred $100 to Spidernl's account after taxes. UB-SuperBa> Spidernl has graciously transferred $100 to your account. Spidernl> ?give 900 You gave UB-SuperBank $900. UB-SuperBa> Your deposit has been recorded, and the money has been added to your account. Spidernl> !transfer spidernl:1000 UB-SuperBa> Successfully transferred $999 to Spidernl's account after taxes. UB-SuperBa> Spidernl has graciously transferred $1000 to your account. Spidernl> !balance UB-SuperBa> Your current balance: $998 So, umm, which messages am I supposed to believe? I lost $1 more than it even told me I did, and the second message (money received) doesn't even state I lost anything. I guess it just steals more money and doesn't tell you. Not to mention it doesn't even state anywhere that !transfer costs you anything. Very reliable and trustworthy bank bot.

In public flagging you'd actually be fine. Since the balancer is experience-based, your entire squad could take up the place of one high experience player on a team. Items might not even be your biggest problem in flaggames in terms of you standing a chance, I'd guess that simply not being used to the zone settings would be what holds you back most.

Not likely I can play on saturday the 20th either, although any of the days around it are also a possible no-go. Since there's something *being planned* for the end of that week, I don't know which day it'll be yet. Oh well will see. I'll do a news.txt update tomorrow.

Modified: Cyclone - There's a little less delay between the 1st, 2nd and third bomb. Overall delay is the same. Binary Cannon - Similar to Cyclone, it now fires two bombs at a time. Other aspects such as efficiency and mining ability have been weakened. Modified again: Binary Cannon - Delay between firing (not between the two bombs themselves) increased by around 25%. Energy use increased by around 10%.
-
Fixed. Edit: Technically, only using it in spec crashed the zone.

Afterbomb requires a fake player. Unless you'll settle for warping the player around whenever they fire a bomb, or settle with everyone but them seeing it. Same with the other two. If there's an option to make stuff show up for everyone, I'd rather do that than be lazy. Added: Cyclone. Now with less item spam.
