  1. Question: how?
  2. [quote name=kevinz ' timestamp='1309733593' post='276074] im thinking of joining this topic with spidernl's item blog(http://forums.ssgn.net/topic/25578-spidernls-item-blog/) Keep it seperate imo. The poll would not be possible if you join it, and the item blog would be so full of suggestions (which are great of course) that the actual blog would be hard to search through.
  3. July 5 2011 Added a delay to Field Generator. As of writing, this delay is 6000 centiseconds or 60 seconds (or 1 minute..). Omnifield reduces this delay by 1500 centiseconds or 15 seconds (or .. well I think everyone would get it by now) when used. Correct, this was changed because this timer reset was an unintentional side-effect of using a specific callback in the module.
  4. Now all you have to do is get rid of base 3. That thing's more rigged than the base 5 you just got rid of. Remember back in the old days, when bases when required to be a heck of a lot wider in ALL areas than some of the bases you've used? I'd appreciate going back to that. It makes brickwhoring just that much less plausible. Not to mention some of the bases you're using are so small/thin/tight/whatever that a simple gunline is almost unbreakable as a rusher. Holy peanuts? 1.5 or 2k is not a significant change? That's easily 4 times the current rewards. And the current rewards are already quite profitable if you consider the fact that you can win a huge jackpot afterwards thanks to your own scoring.
  5. You would really risk having Cheese! own a zone with more than 0 population? Honestly, I never cared much for MG so go for it.
  6. You could've just asked me. I saw the jackpotpercent long ago. 120 might be a bit of a big change, but we'll see. In big flaggames there are easily 100 kills per minute -> that'd be a jackpot increase of a minimum of $200 per minute (which adds up rather quickly). But yeah, we'll wait and see. That's a possibility. I think the main issue for 'new' players isn't so much the rate of experience gain, but more the fact that they're used to an even fight in whatever other zones they've played, and now suddenly they have to fight in settings they're not used to, against players with far more powerful ships.
  7. First of all. Flagging privs is a no go. Period. It's just not going to happen. You wanting to get Oppressors full of AD (blink) rushers and dominating flaggames to make the zone no fun for all the 'pub flaggers' is not a 'good reason'. I've said it before and I'm starting to get tired of saying it: making 2 hour flaggames reward proportionally more/as much than/as 20 minute flaggames will cause a lot of milking. Period. They will always have to reward significantly less to stimulate people to win. Also, when I flag the game generally ends quite quickly. If very long flaggames are very rare, what's the issue? 'Rechargable items' doesn't mean items that take 2 years to recharge. A simple 30 second recharge on repels (so if you have two defense mounts, that's 2 repels every 30 seconds) would allow plenty of rushing without making the game depend entirely on items. The issue with automatic ?flag is that new players won't understand what's going on if they get kicked off into spec every minute.
  8. 1, 4 and 6 all sound decent. Not sure if cooldown is the solution, a simple increase in price for fields might even do the trick. As for 8.. I think they already are (very, very slightly), but this is particularly risky in terms of not-wanting-milking.
  9. This is why I haven't made any changes yet. Those who have not tried it assume that it is far more powerful in base than it truly is.
  10. [quote name=kevinz ' timestamp='1309677291' post='276060] yea Ofc not, that would be OP.
  11. First of all, if you mean by 'setting changes' stuff like bulletdamage, ship speeds and the likes - I'd prefer if you don't touch that. The entire item set is based around the current settings. Some of the changes Unix proposed are decent. Rechargable items should be for more than just lancs though - it would reduce item spam as a whole if people can't just die -> buy items -> rush + die -> buy items.. Jackpot increases over time are something I've been considering, and I can up the amount added by goals. The risky bit is that if you overdo changes like this, it brings back milking, which I (and Dr Brain) don't want. This would be because the winning freq is better off balling & letting the jackpot go up naturally than winning quickly. Last thing: I don't really see Quad Core getting buffed anytime soon.
  12. And that's a bad thing?
  13. I would've considered the suggested changes if it wasn't for the fact that you claim the ship is not statistically superior anymore. Come on, every stat except speed and thrust completely wrecks that of other ships. Add to that the fact that it is hit by 1/3rd the stuff terriers (comparable in stats) are hit by, I would say the hull itself would need considerable nerfing for it to even get 1 signature.
  14. I like the owldragonthing. With some 'scarier' texturing it'd fit right into some horror game or whatever.
  15. It isn't an evasion item. It's a supermobility item. You can evade, but also be very aggressive (skip over mines and pewpew foobarz' yamato jav for example ). Taking the aggression away by having to be very careful with your uses due to higher delay would just make it yet another runner-favouring item. As for antiwarp, that's a possible fix should it prove to be overly useful in base. I'm fine with it being a threat though, it just shouldn't be a (flag)game maker/breaker. And delay can be changed worst-case scenario, but it IS a 1.1M Signature, it deserves to be more powerful/fun/whatever than, for example, TW.
  16. Send you to a random zone, in a random arena, in a random ship, at a random location with a random rotation with random items (repels, bursts, etc). You'll also have a random name and a random password, random ?chats, a random frequency..
  17. Seems like it was fixed by rolling back the database to an earlier state. Least, people who had Dilithium Matrix no longer do.
  18. June 30 2011 Added Dilithium Matrix
  19. You're acting as if banning people for swearing is some kind of abuse. It's clearly in the rules that it's not allowed. So nice try. Also, it already filters those words. I have to say that, due to swearing being against the rules, people generally behave less like they're pubescent idiots trying to prove how cool they are on a 2d spaceship game (by swearing).
  20. Could be, but I'm quite sure trolling staff doesn't make them more productive. Although.. banning or silencing you could be considered productive.
  21. Look, DSB staff might be (ab)using their powers for amusement every once in a while, but you're being such a fool you're making it look like they always have very good reasons to do so. Maybe you should start playing the game, or developing, and not focus entirely on trolling and being annoying.
  22. Way to bash this temporary solution, then. If anything it buys the zone time to find other ways to recover/keep population.
  23. This week - until 06/27/11 - flag rewards will be increased by 50%, and regular kill money is doubled. This is your chance to get rich!

    Lag?

There's a few factors that could cause lag, such as an unstable/slow connection, or being far away from the server (or both). You could try www.speedtest.net, that at least shows us whether your connection is up to the task*. *) Not like Continuum should be incredibly demanding in the connection speed department.
  25. Guess I could have expected a reply like that. You could look up "Elys' Uncapper", something* that changes Oblivion's hardcoded formulae and limits. It uses OBSE functionality but does not use Oblivion's scripting functionality whatsoever. Nor does OBSE itself use Oblivion's scripting engine to provide what Elys' uncapper needs. *) a plugin for OBSE to be more precise
