It's their own choice to be useless. Players can fly around backwards through bases and be far more useless, but how do you fix that?

Everspace has an in-development GUI similar to this. Or well, not similar in looks, but similar in how it uses trackable 'keys' like decoy, brick, thor, , etc. to navigate.

I've been sticking to there-will-only-be-one-unique-l4-gun for a while now, and that's unlikely to change. Not to mention extremes are generally bad: very high dps for very high inefficiency (to a greater extent than Shredder, even) is tough to balance. After a while sheer stopping power just wrecks anything, whether it costs you half the energy they take in damage or not.

Avast, it is quite apparent that you have no idea what this zone is like. When people post on the forums, even if they shouldn't, they post 'their version' of what happened. Generally, they leave out entire parts of chat (of them swearing, which is illegal, for example) or claim to have not done something that they did do. People go quite far to look innocent when they aren't. And I'm not claiming that is the case here. You're acting like there's some major, undealt-with abuse going on here. I have admitted my mistake, even here on the forums, and it has been corrected as well. You seem to be thinking the staff here is as power-trippy as it can be in other zones. It isn't. Although I will admit that I gave the wrong impression here. You should actually play this zone and see it on a day-to-day basis. There's no genuine hate between the player base and staff. There are of course players who dislike staff, but that is simply because they disagree with some rules (such as the no swearing/foul language rule) that are enforced. The staff is not to blame there.

The problem with threads such as these is that it doesn't solve the problem. Going to a superior actually does. The only result of this is public discredit of staff (which obviously Cheese is after anyhow) whether that is actually deserved or not (in many, if not all of these threads the poster deliberately leaves out details to make a point). The drawbacks are kind of pointless. +3 bombdamage will, in practice, do very little. Removing them entirely wouldn't hurt anyone. Who knows. These items don't really fill a niche that isn't already filled by other items, really. I agree with cheese (although he put it rather harshly.. what does that remind you of), you should just post these in one of the existing threads (like my blog).

Although I really should stop replying (and I will, after this post), let me make something very clear here. Cheese himself, and most of the population, is quite well aware that he is, on purpose, trying to find the limits of staffers like me. He has been doing so for as long as I remember him being in Hyperspace. I will admit that that degrant was largely out of 'emotional involvement', and was for the 'offense' overly harsh. Anyone can see that. However, anyone can also see that Cheese has been trying to provoke this for years. And to Avast, really, the community in Hyperspace isn't the same as DSB's. Although this thread gives a wrong impression, there are few real conflicts between staff and players.

Honestly, the zone doesn't belong to the population. If Dr Brain wants to shut it down, completely ruin the settings for his own amusement or ban everyone at random, he can do so just fine. As he's likely said before: Hyperspace is not a democracy.

He's already been reimbursed $450k. The rules are also more specific for staffers now. Just consider the fact that he was still degranted 50k the result of his previous behavior.
