  1. @Cre ASSS isn't that stupid, it can't be all that hard to, instead of an alias, use an IP (Same way ?alias does I guess) or whatever instead. So then getting that alias means your earnings still go to mr. Rick. Also, I'm ok with making a bot for this if it ever happens. Which reminds me - How about being able to specify interest? That way a (bot) bank could function a bit more properly, and give out profit in a dynamic interest rate.

The best way to make the evening system work is probably to turn exp into an amount of "points" using a formula which curves towards 8-9k exp and then 'slows down' again from that point, meaning the higher your exp past that point, the less influence that has on your "points". Edit: Well, besides a full-blown evening system that actually checks what items you have, how well you usually do in a team. That'd require insane amounts of work to work well, most likely, though. 'Nother Edit: Ohsh- guess I wasn't quite the first person to think of it

  4. And what exactly are you going to do when one squad is strongest, eh? Always have stacked freq because the evener will be the "stacker" then? Also, what happens if one squad is bigger than the other squads? What happens if one squad manages to fetch all the good rushing players, making it a stack by itself? Seriously, stop being slow. You bring up ideas which you only thought up to make your own bank account in Hyperspace bigger. And that's pretty sad.
  5. Red Star has them in them in their "Insane" arena. That'll mean that there are ONLY reverse repels, since there probably is only one setting for it. Thus, it's either normal repels OR reverse repels.
  6. Actually, if you really think like that, you should get a brain transplant with a broccoli. That'll make you smarter, truly. A sad thing is, though, that the only way you Americans can decide who to vote for, at the moment, is to check which of them is the greater evil. Wtb proper candidates.
  7. The point of allowing bountiers to be 'tractored' is so that people are encouraged to have AW, aswell. But if it's really necessary, make it work like ID. The higher the target's bounty, the larger the chance is that it'll fail. Make it engine fail the 'tractorer' and also reset the 10-minute timer. Make the chance of failure around 95% at 500 bty or higher, maxing around there.
  8. What's wrong with making bountying harder? Bountying is the number 1 reason people stack freqs..

    (People, just act like this is a good idea, she might believe it won't make for huge stackedness) I like the way Gar worked it out, even though people will most likely ALWAYS find a way to stack teams. The good thing about turf would be that you can just shuffle teams everyone once in a while, since bountying isn't the major point.

So, I was discussing a new item with Unix, her version basically allowed rich people to become gods, and my version is the following: Name: Tractor Beam Price: $575,000 Categories: FTL and Alien Tech Ships: 7 [Lancaster] Properties: -summonenemy +1 -only usable once every 10 minutes -lancasters cannot be targetted Description: If I understand Summonenemy correctly, this should allow you to summon an enemy (wow! ). The 10 minutes delay is needed to keep it a tad balanced, since spamming everyone out of a base is silly. Not being able to target lancasters is needed so it's not possible to unbalance a flaggame with the item. This item should be popular with people who have money to spend, and who mostly want to kill bountiers. It should be stopped by antiwarp, just like regular summon, meaning a smart team would be safe from it. Btw, if Unix posts her version, be sure to point and laugh. Edit: Another positive point about this item: You'll be able to summon leaks, which are mostly sharks, thus making sharks a tad less powerful, which really won't hurt seeing they're very powerful right now. Also, an explanation on antiwarp when used 'against' this item: For example, a person called "player1" is on freq 0, and has 300 bounty. He obviously doesn't want to get summoned out. "player2", also on freq 0, has antiwarp on. "player3" is a lanc on freq 1 who has Tractor Beam. Now, player1 and player2 are in base 6. Player1 is within player2's antiwarp range. player3 is in base 3. He attempts to summon player1. However, unlike regular antiwarp, the distance of the enemy doesn't matter, only how close a FRIENDLY antiwarp is. Thus, player3 cannot summon player1 as long as player1 is within player2's antiwarp range.

  13. People who either lack brains, or smell a chance to use their millions on something that'll make them hugely overpowered.
  14. Sigh, the only serious problem that's ruining basing is the fact that 99/100 basing games are stacked as !@#$%^&*. You'll have a bunch of people whose max money amount they ever had is $20000, at one side, and people who have 4 AD-armed ships at the other. Fix stackedness = Fix basing.
  15. Oh the irony. If you think that map is the "classic desert storm map" you are way too young =P Note the "Classic" being quoted. Kthx. As in, it's basically the one that "Is from a while ago yet not that long", and it's pretty much one of the best known maps ds has/had, methinks.
  16. I thought I'd post about this: Desert Storm is now using the "classic" desert storm map again, retiled and with two new bases. Since bounce was also quite unpopular, it has also been removed. Now the playing field is level again, and everyone has a shot to show what they can do. Come experience the community we have to offer, and have some fun!
