    flag reward

  2. Lol. How can you be so dumb in one sentence. First of all, read the thread. The 'unauthorized force' is obviously authorized - I first asked Masaru, who gave me permission, and now Dr Brain said he also doesn't exactly oppose what I did. And I find it quite amusing that you expect us to believe that it was purely incidental that you sold all your ships, gave all your money away and kept your balance at exactly $10,000 as soon as Masaru told you to pay me back. Edit: Also, judging from the above, it would seem that you did expect some kind of staff involvement all the time, no?

    So mean

Wtf Corey why are you scamming HS' players? Way to abuse your position as a (*cough* semi *cough*) staffer.
  4. I think some of the posters here still don't get that I discussed this with Masaru before I did anything. Calling me abusive for discussing matters with my superiors before acting is a creative way of looking at things, of course. Lol, I'd love to know some of those scenarios. There are a few issues with your analogy. It'd be more along the lines of a government official walking into a bank and using his status to have the bank give the first person who asks for it $1,000,000 USD in cash. Edit: Anyway, as I said, this is just a flame war. If any thread should be closed it should be this one.
  5. I guess you're really just too stupid to understand. I suggest closing this thread, it was only created to be flamebait anyway. Discuss this with Masaru, these matters aren't for the forums.
  6. Why am I even replying to Unix acting like the victim here, lolz. Hardly a point to transfering the money ever single time I take it from you. It's better we find a way to make this not show up in the 'grant' portion of the ?money -d, and instead as 'give' money, to keep the statistics correct. I can wait for now. I also find it funny how you consider the degranting punishment. I thought that technically degranting is nothing more than 'adding' a 'negative sum' to a player's 'money variable', I didn't know it was intended purely as punishment or reward. But I guess Unix knows better. Also, do you really think you're going to make a point against me by telling everyone that you gave away all the money after selling your ships? Fun fact: if you hadn't quickly moved the money away from your account to prevent staff from correcting this mistake earlier, you wouldn't have been anywhere near zero balance after the whole degrant. Are you going to complain you sabotaged this situation two weeks ago and hope we feel sorry? The 'extreme measures' are simple: seeing as you're already saying in this reply that you're going to sabotage our 'latest & greatest' attempt to correct the situation by keeping your account's money near-zero, we might have to get the money differently. Who knows. Yes, I figured it would be safer to hope staff could keep themselves from 'abusing' ?aa than to risk issues that could be much harder to spot in the logs, and which could mean I could not pay back - which as a bank is bad, no? Are you really this dumb or are you acting it? You just gave me the ultimate words to use: staff interference. The problem in this whole case is that there was staff interference, and we're now going to try and fix that. Imagine if a player with $2,000,000 in their account got the arena message "Player Unix gave you $1000000" and, out of the kindness of their heart, would immediately give that money 'back', without checking their money (who expects that kind of message to be fake?)? Same situation, and I imagine staff would do something about it, but mainly because the player would notice as soon as they did their next ?money - the money wasn't actually received! "Staff, please help!" I still wonder why you keep using the 'I gave all the money away to sabotage the earlier attempt(s) of correction' as an argument to support your case, while it clearly supports mine.
  7. If this post is full of terrible spelling and/or grammar, blame my phone. Anyway, Unix, your post would make more people care if you told the entire story and didn't add some nonsense to spice it up. First of all, the money wasn't transfered to my account after the degrant. I admit it would make the story that much more epic but oh well. Second, this was first discussed with Masaru, and we concluded that it was mainly his mistake. Since the money was moved to your account the only way to revert the mistake's changes is by degranting you and later moving the money to the bot. Keep up the cool story about me being lazy while the choice not to implement the kind of 'security' you mention is one I made to prevent players losing money to unforseen circumstances. @P Nut: if you don't see the difference between this and a dueling bet I'm afraid I will never be able to explain it well enough to you. Then again you're bound to just be trolling. Meh, I don't see why Unix is so worried about losing money that wasn't his in the first place. Still, this e-drama is a good way to get through my popcorn reserves. Edit: since staffers apparently (of course Unix knows this better than actual staffers) have no authority to fix their own mistakes, who does?
  8. Then again there are some unneccessary steps in that procedure: Why take the average and not just add up, look which has least total exp and dump on that? While taking the square root (or something similar, as I suggested) takes a bit of power, it can't be so significant that it'd noticeably slow down ?flag. Edit: also, with the 'square root' method you'd probably keep two variables: freq 90's total "square rooted" exp and freq 91's "square rooted" exp. All you'd have to do then is add or remove one player's "square rooted" exp on entry/leave and do a comparison every time a player uses ?flag.
  9. You forget that it's a completely different kind of league. Why are you trying to push your personal preference by using a weak argument like 'it might take a while for a higher staff member to break that link between pub and ?go base'? Maybe Corey can even figure it out himself, who knows.
  10. "Bountying" still results in people ragequitting. Making basing into 100% organized tradekilling is just stupid.
  11. Man, this exp-based system is such a new idea! I haven't even seen the 10-13k exp 'argument' before! Protip: this discussion isn't new, and no matter how 1337 your ideas are there still needs to be someone with the time to actually develop (a) module(s) that implement 'em. Also, if anything the square root or something of exp could be used. First couple 1000 points will have far more impact than 10k+, as they should. Edit: as someone with a 'little bit' of experience with ASSS modules I can assure you things like these don't get too complex to implement that fast.

    Lying

How many staff members has HS had that act(ed) professionally 24/7?
  13. Yeah, the solution to an issue with arenas (that can most likely be fixed easily by someone with more experience than Corey) is to remove the flagging element from the basing league.
  14. What is the advantage of dumping players right on freq 90/91 on entry? That's pretty much the only new thing in this thread as far as I can see.
  15. It's amazing how OrangeeOz cares so much about HS while he doesn't play anymore. I mean really, he even seems to watch over DoCoMo's shoulders to see what moderators are doing and stuff, creepy. Or could they be the same person?

  17. I still wonder why people are so interested in spamming guns indefinitely. It's not like you're ever going to manage to take advantage of that anyway :/

    Dueling.

First: staff can't (or won't) help with this. Second: Myollnir has paid up for every duel I won against him, I think he'll pay in the end. Just apply some peer pressure.
  19. I don't think that kind of tone is going to get Dr Brain to do anything you ask, really.
  20. Does it look to you like it's December? Also, you are disqualified for not being trustworthy enough to know for sure you won't cheat, duh.
  21. [#10333] We could not find the forum you were attempting to view.
  22. My guess is that the thread was locked because it turned into a flame war between 2-3 people. As to why your posts are being deleted.. probably related to the above.
  23. Misou, I discussed this with P Nut ingame, the reason he thought the bot wasn't quite safe was because he didn't know exactly how the interest would be funded + EDIT: and what would happen should money run out. Also, can people either post something semi-useful or just off? Trollwar 2.0 is getting old by now. Note to those who do have money on the bot: I've got a 500k donation from 2 players (for those bad at math: 2*500k = 1000k = 1m) so the bot will be back up again soon. Just need to finish the new version.
  24. Never mind. P Nut meant the 2m capital as money to pay interest with. Edit: There's one thing though, P Nut, and that's that the donators were not donating to give free money to Unix.
  25. Usually players wait at least a month or two more before starting to spread such ideas.
