Logging squad names and owners should not be illegal. I can make notebook list of that crap without a bot. Everything else is illegal. I only agree with bans for cheaters/exploiters etc. Someone who does those sorts of things is open to a battle of bans and unbans, and hacking etc. If he even knows how to. Also you have to ask yourself if he knows how to do any of that or if someone else instructed him and he just leeched off their knowledge and ultimately that other person was the main culprit. At the same time you could basically make anything up and say you have proof, but nobody here sees it, so no one really should believe you. For all we know someone gave him Pure_luck, and you assumed he was the one who did everything, and technically a good hacker doesn't leave a trace behind, so you would have no proof anyway. People can be guilty by association.

Well whats Hyperspace website? Do you have information there on all items and ships? Does it come with cool pictures per each item? F1 is great to have. And it's good Hyperspace actually edited their F1 efficiently and uses it. However when I first started playing Hyperspace it didn't even occur to me, that I could find a tutorial or help in the F1. (I usually associate f1 with staff lists, rules, maybe information on the flag game, and arena lists/events) Not tutorials. At the same time I know you have zone announcements, but I still have my help ticker on. So the zone announcements just get meshed with the help ticker and I would often miss zone announcements. While this is my problem as a long term player, new players don't even know what help ticker is, or how to disable it. I often do disable it, but through the course of playing subspace it eventually gets turned back on by accident. I also need it off because I take lots of screenshots, and record logs, so it helps to have it off, less editing out of none-sense. Green is really not good for zone announcements or anything. It would be cool if subspace used red text for those things. A tutorial would be nice, however tutorials in other arenas, never work. And no one uses them. I just recommend making the module more user friendly, and let it explain some basics, like ?flag to join teams, and how to !attach. My main suggestion is to just keep all buyable items. But to also add 16 ship kits. 6 basics which new players can afford, 8 Intermediate, with certain other items. And then 4 Elite ones. All of them coming with preplanned items. However assuming hyperspace has 150 items. Keep 50 items off the ship kits. So people can change things out and have some rare things, and variety. This will help people advance faster in the form of buying a ship kit, and pros can still be pros from getting the more expensive items and building their ship up custom.

Well that's not entirely true. The troll god always uses the truth. That is another trait of a troll "god". Persistence, failure, truth, ignorance. A lying troll would just be a "troll". God not included. The truth is much stronger to counter, and has more potency, it also means I would get backed into a corner less, since everything is out there, nothing can come back to haunt the troll god. Having been in hyperspace. Both recently and in the past (lets say 2 or 3 years ago) I have also played recently. I have read every page of the item proposal thread (but haven't committed all content to memory) As well as knowing various people from Devastation who play hyperspace and talk about the zone. Therefore I do know somethings about hyperspace. However I never did state I know everything about Hyperspace, or that I am an expert. More of a casual player, this doesn't mean my knowledge is non existent, it just means it's limited, due to lack of concern maybe.

Lol all your posts are about your thread, and not on topic. You have only yourself to Blame. If it was that important you wouldn't even concern yourself with what I do.

Is your website operational? I tried to find it, couldn't. Seems like it's down? If you had a website, someone could just list every item there, with pictures, and people could submit their own guides for different things. Quick learn 2 play right there, and no need to sign up to a forum, or try to browse through threads to find information. Display of information on a website, would pretty much handle the tutorial part. I don't really want to suggest major changes to help people advance faster, it's not my zone, it's whatever you want to do with it. You could still provide start ship kits, and have different ship classes, that come with items, while at the same time allow for individual upgrades and buying, and keep some upgrades off the kits completely that way the items seem more unique.

I don't know, I don't think I singled out L2 bullets, in my first post, I clearly said L2 bullets, bombs, I think I mentioned having the next level up for recharge, as a standard, and Armor. See? So I don't know why you are focused on me saying L1 is useless. It is. It just serves to make a huge gap between players and offers no potential for combinations, etc. If you change what L1 does, then you can use it. Otherwise get rid of it and make the standard L2 (obviously if you have L2, you will have the standard recharge and other things you need for it) When I say L2 It's obvious items you need for it follow. Am I going to have to explain every obvious thing, or will you guys stop assuming?

I didn't derail the thread? Corey started talking about details which I don't care about. IE if it's a bot, or a module, or what it is. It doesn't matter what I call it. I will call it 20 Pages of Code next time. You still get the idea of what I mean, that's all that really matters. I never cared about details or semantics, those things can be settled by someone else. After all I assume you guys are smart enough to understand what I am saying even if I use the wrong terms. If not please let me know you are idiots, and I will attempt to use proper terms for you. I never stated the thread was about teaching noobs how to play subspace. You said it not me. My original post was all about getting RID of L1 level items. Like Red bullets, in order to make it easier for new players to advance quicker. I then suggested a way to do that. At the same time small tutorial on buying items WILL help players to advance faster in HS (which ironically is what your thread was about). I don't see why a bot couldn't tell people to type ?flag, and then PM !attach. It's quicker, some people are shy to ask others what to do. Some people are just not helpful, sometimes the zone is empty in off hours, and there is no people to ask. And I know you have user run bots. So provided a module can't do this, then spidernl as a user could just make a bot that tracks new players and informs them how to upgrade their ship. Which is more proactive than hoping the player knows about F1 or remembers to use F1. I never said I know everything about hyperspace? But maybe you can read minds? If you can please let me know. This way there is no confusion on my part about your post. I also never claimed to know how an ASSS, AS3 zone works, or even what Hyperspace is using. I never said I know programming either. The troll god always admits when he never knows things. This is called not fighting losing battles, which I never do. I pick troll battles where I know I am right. At the same time, Mistakes are how you learn, the troll god makes billions of mistakes. This ultimately means I learn more, and learn faster. I am also better than you at HS with an L2 bullet ship, and no items. Despite the fact that I don't know anything. So I don't really need to play more than 5 minutes, since I am already so good at your zone.

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7430/bottt.png Arguments? There is no arguing. You seem to be stuck in some state of conflict if you feel there is arguments. Apply all I said to Modules then. I am not a programmer, and semantics are not important. Neither are details. Fill in details yourselves, as long as you get the general idea. P.S Stop calling them bots if they are not really bots.

1. Introduce each newbie at l1 items. 2. Increase starter cash 3. Make the bot have a mini tutorial (rather than players telling me crap I should have already known from the bot) When people first buy a ship, the bot will PM them letting them know they they have 3 basic items. (whatever those basic items are for recharge, bullet/bombs etc) The bot informs you, you have 10,000 cash, and tells you to upgrade. It explains how to upgrade each section. Then newbies upgrade to L2 bullets fast, they buy recharge, armor, etc. Once upgrading is complete, the bot tells you how to join a flag game, and make more cash. I think once you get the L2 bullets and bombs it's easy. The whole L1 thing is useless. So basically increase newbie starter items to something better, or allow them to do it themselves quicker. The whole point of buying is so you have more options, different combinations. I dont think the main point of buying was to have large gaps. Most games with upgrades, make it so people who can't pay to buy upgrades, can still compete with what they have for free. IE, games that have in store items etc. But also allow you to play free.

Being a 25 year old virgin is nothing when you are immortal and live forever like I do. Not having many friends and staying in my room all day, with no school or job, is also nothing to someone who has infinite amounts of time. This is what being a god means. Of course gods don't want friends and are rarely seen. Are you friends with any gods? No didn't think so. And last, as a omnipotent being, an immortal, stands the reason I have eternal youth, and divine beauty. As well I basically have anything I want, because I just think it into existence. If you did see me you would lose your eyesight from my magnificence. This is why I am a Troll God, and not just a Troll king (mortal) or Troll. God implies divine beauty and extreme ability.

I don't think it sucks. I know it sucks. Different things. One deals with weighing the object against my personal desires, the other has nothing to do with what I want but with the actual intended goal of the object. What I want - Nothing, which is why I didn't make a video. Do you understand? If I wanted something, like a personal dream come true. I would of course do it myself. If I was telling him his video however is very far from the goal of the video, that is something else entirely. He asked, I gave my opinion. Get over it if you don't like it when people are direct and say things as they are as opposed to what? Being courteous? Courtesy is a form of phony social behavior designed to cover true feelings. Besides I already stated on the technical aspect it was well made. So I have never thought that the whole thing sucks. And I approve of the idea of having a spoiler video for subspace. Meanwhile you are basically agreeing with me that it was not creative as it could have been. And yes you can present the game, and show it's purpose is to kill. This is not the problem. Creativity is the problem. I could present subspace in a different way showing the same goal (killing), making it 10x more exciting than showing ships blowing up in cutscenes. "if all you are showing is ships blowing up - then you missed the point of the game" Was my comment. That's nice I see cutscene with words, and ships exploding. This does not interest me. It's mindless killing = no point. Meaning he missed the point of the game. A trailer showing mindless killing is not what I call epic. I call epic having a purpose. And killing is a purpose because you fucking set goals for yourself. Hence he needed to present killing in a more creative fashion. Maybe show the goals, make a story out of it? You can easily make a rivalry video, Noob vs Pro, and show continuum in a competitive fashion. You could present how a noob handles the game, and show a lot of funny shit, then show a pro, then show them fighting, and have the noob eventually score a victory. A 10 second idea by the way.

I've heard it's possible to make 1 way bricks. Bricks that you can fly through in one direction, right to left, but going left to right it is solid and you can't pass. Can anyone figure out how to do this, and find an application for the game play?
-
It's just blocks in space.. I don't get how it represents subspace..
-
That is the point of the game, and how its done is what makes it fun. How many zones have you seen where the point wasn't to kill? Then ask yourself how many of those zones are / were popular. Anyway, I'd like to see the finished product when its ready. It's just a standard video, that has no imagination. Shows ships blowing up. It's nothing against the creator, and the movie itself was made nicely as far as technical knowledge goes. But if everyone here would endeavor to make a video, it's almost guaranteed their videos would be very similar to his. 1. Mainly Cut scenes with words, 2. Some lame music 3. Ships exploding This is exactly how you know it lacks creativity. I have seen countless subspace videos resembling his up till now already. Most were zone related only and not meant for the whole game/community. His video hardly represents every zone. And barely acknowledges league, flagging, basing, hockey, or other styles of play. EVEN IF IT DID. He would present it in some mediocre fashion which LACKS IMAGINATION. When everyone thinks alike, no one thinks at all. So maybe you should ask more questions and get details, before you presume to know what I mean or what I know. Instead of cherry picking. I could tell him how to make his movie 100x better. P.S Remember smart people ask questions. And assumption is the mother of all fuck ups. - Steven Seagal movie

They did change the site about a year and half ago.

You can also right click the images image shack uploads. Then click View Image, for the exact link. But really can't believe you didn't know..

You know I copy and save every post I make, I had experience on forums with my posts being removed before. Anyway that's fine, I wasn't accusing you, your name wasn't directly there, with me saying you did this. I was more or less pulling strings to see if the string brings something back. If you break my strings, I am happy to be wrong about it. I mostly make general statements, based on my opinion of what being fair and being sincere is. Also I don't really view this thread as trash talk. It has different views. That doesn't mean cheese or my views are trash. So no need to even erase them. This is trash talk just to be clear - Avast you noob fgt, dirl, 5-0 gg

Forums should be a place where people can vent, or talk freely. I think you guys already have HS where you can decide what people are free to say. Let people speak on forums. Just move the thread if it's off topic. Otherwise if you lock every thread, people will vent in game and it won't be that great for you or them.
-
Just out of curiosity are you allowed to say Ez after you kill someone?
-
No it's not, considering everything you know as existence comes from the same place, the atoms that construct the molecules are traceable to high mass stars, that exploded there chemically rich matter into the galaxy. Enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So we are all connected to each other biologically; to the earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically. I am not relating HS to DSB. They are by far different zones, with settings, and mechanics that differ. I am saying however that the staff, who are comprised of people, who are made up of atoms similar to those of the people in DSB, who were also staff. Have a bad misconception of what being a leader is, a volunteer, and have a poor attitude when it comes to making a fun environment and running a zone properly.
-
Well as long as you admit the zone is not for the community, and that people there are not real volunteers, who want to build up the zone, but rather, they are their to build up what they themselves think is best. And to pick and choose who gets to play there, on the basis of strict rules for those objectives. If you admit that openly, and tell everyone that. Then that's fine, and you will get whatever players you can from that way of thinking and running a zone. Which I doubt would be a lot. However if you continue to run a zone this way, yet promote something else, to fool people and get new players. Then that is a problem. It's one thing to run your zone for yourselves, and admit it. And another thing to run your zone for yourselves, and then fool people into thinking its for them, just because its convenient for you, and you will get players there. That would be being a hypocrite for your own ends, and lacking integrity and honesty. This was the problem with DSB. They did everything for themselves, felt entitled, that they were above the players, always had to be right, and had to much pride to compromise. Yet at the same time they tried to fool people into thinking it was a community effort, and not a zone which only belongs to one guy. They were two faced. And when you have someone like me constantly showing their contradictions, they basically stumbled over their own feet often. As long as your not giving people false notions that they have any rights. Only brain has rights, and he makes the zone the way he wants, and decides everything. But cheese and other posters who complain about abuse, seem to think they have rights.
