  1. DCME needs Tabs to quickly switch between different maps: http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/DCME-tabs.gif
  2. If I talked about it, I would accidentally leak the Halo3 storyline...so I won't. If you think I'm joking I dare you to test me (through PM).
  3. CHANGE YOUR MIND! Come on -- the longer you have excitement and the "want to play" lasting, the better the release...unless hardly any work had been done. MillenniumMan should ask some of the community's programmers to beta test.
  4. And do you plan to add a toggle button to the LVZ-moving tool that would control whether the image will be rendered with transparency or not (and if with transparency, what color and how much in percent it would be transparent)? I found it a neat finding that after importing an LVZ (and having a bunch of images bogusly stacked at the same coordinate) got DCME to render them all as additive transparency, which was pretty neat. Next time I encounter bugs here, I'll be sure to report them.
  5. Those last three actually seemed a bit classical. Do ya' think VIE would do that? I think the cellphone part is an interesting idea, perhaps for a single-player mode (with campaigns)? Ultra simple 3rd/1st Person Shooting every once in a while? Nevermind. We can customize controls to our desires, right?
  6. Same here (admin+hlrse.net).
  7. I found a butt load of possibly unreported bugs in the mean time, unfortunately I got too lazy to report them. One of them was that I couldn't save _server118.lvl to a freshly created, empty directory. In otherwords.. / /DirectoryA/ /DirectoryA/_server118.lvl /DirectoryB/ And I try to save _server118.lvl to /DirectoryB/ and get some error like 54 or 56 (somewhere in the 50s?). Checked the debug log and it simply just said _server118.lvl in /DirectoryB/ didn't exist.

  9. This is the part where we should see MillenniumMann grinningly holding tight onto the project from releasing it, only to continue and hunger your thirst ever so more. Then to release it at the right moment for a wholesome of deliciousness to also be released.
  10. Clearly everyone else sees that Lynx and The Apache have a personal problem with me, which means that this whole issue is no biggie. Night.
  11. I disagree. I think you're only saying that because you would feel like the one responsible for rotating and managing the staff. Forget it and don't worry about how that works, it isn't your job if you don't want it to be. Available on website as an LVZ override. Some newbies complained very shortly after the relaunch. Great, well I already have a map design from many months ago that might just work if done correctly. Infact I even started it and have a copy laying around somewhere. This will be a long-term project, not something that I will complete within a few days. "I can't imagine any better than the current," although I'll go ahead and interrogate (debug) the players about their likes and dislikes of the current settings. This will be taken care of upon the next major update. Oh, and thank you for calming down and taking some pills to lower your blood pressure a bit. ;o EDIT :: I honestly enjoy the "butcher" method of replying to each other. Great way to talk about everything and deal with everything at once within losing yourself.
  12. Plans changed: Dragon Radar is staying. First complaint ever since I fixed this about thrust graphics appearing backwards. Works perfectly fine on my Continuum client, so it must on others. Hmm, maybe I'll port a perfect copy of Repel and Rocket settings over. Ok. Currently under revision. Ok. Working on it. Ok. Wanna do me a favor and change max balls to 1? Or you feel like getting personal, dirty, and as aggressive as possible to win Subspace onto "sides" and "overthrow" me. I've been asking bigshot3754 personally for suggestions from time to time on how to deal with things. Or in other words, dates. Just a minor correction. Ok. And you told me that the reason for this complaint was really because you didn't want to remember some random bogus ?chat, such as "30a7hf" for example, and disagreed with my opinion about not wanting staffers to see private frequencies (something which I think affects gameplay to an unnecessary degree). I did of course say, that I wouldn't mind if there were an option in Subgame to turn off seeing Private Frequencies altogether (hint: ASSS). A staffer will always be logged into their powers even as they put it into their Auto field. I put up with this "idea" of logging in only when necessary a long time ago, and the whole idea itself was very short lasting. I switched over to just telling new staffers to put it into their Auto field. I find it logical that a person is !@#$%^&*umed a staff member when there is trouble and something needs to be done about that trouble. A staffer honestly isn't a staffer when they are playing, now are they? Not sure if I'm making a point, but whatever. I know that you know that we have thoroughly covered this area of the topic. Anything I would say would just be repeating what you have already heard, so now it is for the public to discuss at their interest. And that's me! Random questions and random things at random times when it isn't expected. I thought I already mentioned that a couple times before I got anywhere near finishing the project. It would work out as a private zone-wide staff chat (only usable by staff members), but "if it weren't for the private frequencies showing to staff members" issue then I wouldn't go through the trouble that I find worth going through. However you are definately right about the SSCI Halo example and eliminating abusers at the Pre/Moderator stages. And here in the above log you do admit the 'real' reason behind why you disagree with the "ludicrous" move of having a non zone-wide private chat (which leads to staff members logging in with the staff password in their password). *Shrugs* Yes, and I felt that you might attempt to "take over." It is up to Death+ to decide and control the dictatorship and "taking over zones" situation. May I use "I have borderline-ADHD" as an excuse, pretty please? Oh well, I guess not. Nevermind. This is a staffers opportunity to solve problems, wouldn't you agree? And you are saying that I removed the plugin? If you do, I never did in the first place. I consider that a must-have plugin for all MERVBot installations. Listening... Wow, I think I think I figured that out about 4 to 5 years ago when I had been running my own zone (some "Night Hawk" zone). Wanna be an example? Then play instead of sit in spectator mode. If you see Goku, tell him to play also. You're all so dependent on me on my witty dialup connection, that ends up ruining someone's experience due to my warp-coma connection. Thanks for the compliment. New thought: if Goku8234 isn't coming back, then this was an irrational action by Goku8234 and ownership should be given back to bigshot3754 (even though he rarily pops in). Since Goku8234 is over me, it is up to him and bigshot3754 to decide (can Death+ be in the picture? I suppose not). This is just in: I think that is a good distortion of information. Usually when there are 7 or more players in the zone there is a flagging game going on or one that can easily be started. Definately when there is atleast 10 players (even 9) there would be a flagging game going on. Based on monthly statistics. Peak was 17 (including bot) a few weeks ago. A couple times a peak of 15 and 16 had been hit. If you're talking about the background images, then ok. If not, I don't remember what you're talking about. To me it seems like you're having high blood pressure. In my case, I feel no tension or sweat into this, mainly because I never thought anyone would care that much about a zone that is pretty much dead ... existing in a game where it's population is decreasing quite a lot (atleast a 500 drop in the global player average within the past year and a half). Want to continue more or give me more things to fix? I'm working on that small list: + Revise or restore modern safety zone. (IN PROGRESS) + Remove safety zones in base flag rooms. (IN PROGRESS) + Cut the powerballs down to 1. (DONE) + Rename the archived arenas by incrementing number or letters for easier access. (PENDING) + Greatly decrease chances of losing ship equipment due to damages. (PENDING)
  13. Nobody was able to lag through walls with the Rocket and Repel combination for about 2 or so weeks now. If you are talking about the above Rocket and Repel combo, read the above. If you are talking about general latency settings, then they are pretty much the same as the pre-relaunch. That's also when you don't have the bot loaded up with all sorts of plugins, where the bot alone could almost handle the zone. There are enough staffers to watch the zone. If you are comparing to before the relaunch, I can't see how anyone can think the zone was just fine with 1 to 7 bots at once and pretty much no human players for the majority of time. That's why you have staff to do their job. If you have ever seen the network-wide ban list, you'll quickly notice that Rudy possibly has no life when it comes to banning 1 to 8+ players per day for cheating, hacking, etc (keywords: network-wide). What bot plugin? The dragon radar? That was reinstalled over a week ago. Name them please. Ok, then I'll rely on the players to tell me, since they're more active. Obviously you aren't an extravagent and within the combination of being clean, straight, "professional," top-notch. Though I do agree that the dates make it a little more harder to get to the arenas rather than just typing in ?go dbzX (where x is a number from 0 to 255+) and ordering it by newest to oldest. I'll probably end up applying this. True. Unfortunately that isn't something I can help nor control. That is the way I am. And I will save you the trouble of even bothering. A conversation that we had over a month ago (before Goku8234 appeared) was about how a month after the relaunch (if things made no beneficial difference to the zone) then L Y N X would take over my turn (which sysops in the past have been seemingly doing) and give it try at developing, fixing, restoring, or whatevering the zone. He had mentioned that he would use some of the material I had already built up. I admitted to him (which I now admit publically) that I had and would have been (or was) very jealous that he would use "my" material. Quite frankly, none of this is really my material despite my selfishness in that. I can't help but to think I gave this jealousy and selfishness up a week or so after that (maybe over 2 weeks ago). Since I am settled on dialup, I cannot very easily do what other people have suggested to me -- which is to get in and play when anybody enters the zone (whether it be someone I know or a lone visitor). A lot of people have suggested me that (Goku8234 is in the pack). I am quite troubled that Goku8234 disappeared only a few days after coming back, and since then missing. My doubts say that maybe Goku8234 has not been working overtime like some players say. Just remember that I was never expecting any population changes or anybody to really take notice of the zone upon the relaunch. I hated seeing how the zone was loaded up with 95% to 100% with bots (from 1 to 7 total bots and no human players in the zone), and would rather see a more genuine and realistic population in the zone list. I have read every word of your replies and have taken it into my thoughts. Actually I still think more people on these forums hate me than I find in-game. I have read every post in this thread word for word, and have taken it all into thought.
  14. And they are seriously considering to ban public photography and such: http://infowars.net/articles/june2007/290607Filming.htm
  15. Done.
  16. I'm not going to argue. I find it pointless it argue with The Apache. In my mind it keeps popping up that it would be quite immature to play such childish game of arguing. -_- I'm sure the public can decide for themselves on which sides to take, not something I care too much about. Fortunate thing is, I don't have to listen to you, nor do you have the authority besides Death+ or Goku8234 to alter what I'm doing. There is not a single person that will fully agree to anything that happens to DBZ or any other zone or server. So far I have been pretty much listening to players of Dragonball Z very well except you. Dragonball Z was already long dead after you quit (more so when Rick James was taking his shot at it). My intention was to atleast let it die in a more proper, fashionable, and appropriate way, and in no way was I expecting any population changes. I don't see why you care; if you cared you wouldn't have left Dragonball Z as a staff member.

  19. Well I can't trust you Death+. After that last rampage you went on over me, I don't think I'll ever be working with you again. I would release logs, but I'm afraid if I did... . I'm sure that one day I will reach a certain breaking point on this where I will release these logs. They probably won't do any damage to your reputation (you've got nothing to fear, then), but I don't think you would mind if I did. And, I don't want to go on this topic any longer, and wish there would be an ignore feature on these forums. :\ I would also like to mention that when lp_street_soldier+ (aka The Apache) was a sysop in the zone, previously involved in making the 8th-Year Public Map for Dragonball Z, he had pretty much outright burned, evaded, and slapkicked (without the kicking) anyone who criticized his work. I did not criticize his work (and by this I mean comments, suggestions, "bad" parts or areas that need improvement, fixing, etc) directly, but through the opinions of other players and other staff members. Infact I only did half the talking, because another staffer (Ir0n EyEz?) was with me to give him the critiques and criticisms. That's why I said you were arrogant and ignorant. Seemingly just because I was hired as a staff member in the zone and quickly promoted to a Sysop had apparently ticked you off to such a degree, that even a large part of the staffing teams at the zone at the time had started disliking you for exactly this kind of behavior, tone, and at!@#$%^&*ude you present. (Edit) And out of sheer curiousity, I am pretty sure you have heard people speak out along the phrases (or topic) of "sysops ended up destroying the zone over time." If you haven't, then nevermind. I don't want your thoughts. Either you aren't around the players enough, aren't friendly enough for some to speak of things that you don't like (simply because they're afraid of how you would react unpleasantly), or some other reason that I can't put my finger on. If you did, what do you think about this? For months Dragonball Z was dead because nobody touched it, and partly because of the way it was developed. Nobody in particular is to blame for that (I take some blame and responsibility for serving my time as a Sysop under the Pre-Relaunch / Pre-RP settings, map, etc.). You know, it is very possible for a group of individuals to actually think they are taking the zone in the right path, when it could be a wrong one. Those settings were terrible (even with my suggestions to try to spice them up). You had visitors and newbies coming in and out because they always got whiped out within the first 5 to 15 minutes. Never or rarily came back again. Those settings were pretty much expert dueling settings where there might be really one way to even kill someone (and that would be to let your guard down and be laced). Now taking the last sentence I had just written, what do you think of http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=13113 ? Please tell us. Because nobody dared touch or change anything in Dragonball Z (in my opinion, simply because of those pitiful "expert duel" settings and such depressing, boring and dark map), and Rick James had flooded the zone from 1, to 3, to 6 or 7 bots at one time, what is your problem with change? The zone is actually getting more support from and by players than it did before the relaunch. There is only a very small handful of people that even against all this change (even though there might just be a few speckles of a disagreement or two between all other players; it isn't anything major or something that requires a lot of concentration on), you being on that side. I've only encountered about 4 to 5 people out of maybe 50+ people that were like you The Apache. -_- Before the relaunch, apparently many of the Dragonball Z players (because of the zone's ) had either quit or left Subspace, or moved to other zones. I don't know which reason is bigger than the other, but I have found several players in Fusion, Halo, T3G, Trench Wars, etc. Try to find them (yay! scavenger hunting time) and ask them why they play there rather than Dragonball Z. If you do happen to do this, please post their comments. I myself might aswell give an attempt to see why. InamotO has apparently moved on from Dragonball Z or something, even though he pops in every once in a while...moved onto being a developer/sysop/owner of another zone. Asked me for a few pointers once or twice. I have taken all your suggestions into thought, thanks. If you want to help me out, one thing you can do is by trying to convince one of the programmers here to follow up on my plugin request HERE.
  20. Regardless of that -- I have an nVidia chipset and a Geforce 6800XT, while no matter what hardware setting I run the alpha at continue to get choppy audio. And you say it is supposed to fix the choppy audio? How come it won't do it for me. I'm all nVidia hardware here with December version of the latest DirectX 9.0c! Played it with JabJabJab. I ended up getting a BSOD after accidentally ALT Tabbing and trying to bring it back up. I don't think we could blow each other up. Either that or we didn't shoot at each other long enough. I thought about scrolling, but decided against mentioning it because it just isn't Subspace when you get to that point. This is 3D though, so who knows how similar or different it would be (without scrolling) compared to Continuum. In Continuum, scrolling would take way too long. The traditional keyset is enough to quickly have access to pretty much everything in just one hotkey, rather than wasting precious decaseconds of time to select your arsenal and blow someone to smithereens. Perhaps, experimentally and for now, there should be the ability to do it traditionally and scrolling (by choice through configurations)? If Continuum were using the scrolling method, it would be a whole different perspective and gameplay. I think the two make some distinctive differences in how a game is played and such. :X Since I have no idea how the outcome would be, I think this is something that might be worth experimenting and observing.
  21. lol. Ignore the alpha. Alpha is nothing compared to the video. Hmm... The alpha works the way it was packaged, for me atleast.
  22. My incomplete "idea" or whatever. Just the way I would imagine a controls setup screen. Might have forgotten some stuff.
  23. YAY! VIE-style is the way to go Mill! :]

  25. That was outright SPAM. -_- Atleast say something related to the topic. Alpha isn't exactly a good example of Thirdspace. Host button doesn't work for me, I got a BSOD on my video card drivers when accidentally alt-tabbing (and no, Continuum was not open), and the sound part of it just doesnt seem to work well. For example, I only hear the music and thrust (note that it's terrible and awful static quality) when I move forward, and sound is very choppy. But of course, alpha is far old news.
