  1. +1 to Ori Klein I've still been visiting every now and then to find emotions evoking deep within me. This game was a huge part of my life, and it's scary to finally let go of it all for good.
  2. You can find Extended version 1.34.14 (Mon Aug 4 15:55:51 2003) packaged with http://www.hlrse.net/subspace/ServerKit-Full.exe But this is probably not the version you are looking for.
  3. Bump. Apparently my original post where I released Dragonball Z as open source in a pre-configured package ready to execute with zero configuration has disappeared. That thread was probably in DBZ's sub-forum on these forums which no longer exists. Here is the link: http://http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/SubSpace Dragonball Z.rar
  4. Results have significantly improved. However, there are still a handful of vendors to re-contact or follow up with. As of now, all three URLs have only 2 false positives each (better than the original 12+). The files themselves have between 10-12 false positives; is improved but still needs work.
  5. Results improving, will check again in a week.
  6. Greetings, I have sent e-mails, submitted forms, and sent communication to the following vendors: Ad-Aware AegisLab Agnitum AntiVir BitDefender Bkav ByteHero CAT-QuickHeal Commtouch & F-Prot Comodo Emsisoft F-Secure GData Ikarus K7AntiVirus & K7GW Kingsoft (http://bbs.duba.net/thread-23171130-1-1.html) McAfee & McAfee-GW-Edition MicroWorld-eScan Norman Qihoo-360 Sophos Symantec TrendMicro & TrendMicro-HouseCall VIPRE EDIT: I have also informed 2 people via e-mail regarding this status update so that they are aware I didn't push this off to the side and am in progress of getting this situation resolved
  7. Here is the letter I've drafted:
  8. Out of luck? Anyone??
  9. You can find an original archive of all the SSDL files available at http://www.hlrse.net/subspace/ with filenames beginning as "SSDLBackup". Please note that your anti-virus scanner may pickup a thing or two; that is expected and normal.

    Best Biller?

Aqua, Someone e-mailed me about Isometry recently asking for binaries. Here is Sharvil's response:
  11. Well, I guess it just comes down to the only possible statement: we're all ... going ... to die.
  12. dirserver03.zip https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/fb0a0286d0879abd14e764c10cb07e666099d425d1dab75077950723499cb813/analysis/1396730559/ Nope, doesn't pass with at least 20 hits The DirServer.exe is the same SHA256 checksum as the DirServer.exe VirusTotal link I already posted. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/9d9631ff6060ed1ea3d0326c189b9f4ff402d51ad0bd488c2a35bacfeae42a41/analysis/1396730583/ 21 hits in this one
  13. Could someone kindly download http://www.minegoboom.com/cgi-bin/ryan/download.cgi?dirserver.zip and attach it here for me? I'm having problems downloading files from minegoboom.com / shanky.com EDIT: OK, even the original from MineGoBOOM.com/server is bad. dirserver.zip https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/ffa1867109a317541fdc720d8af4030e0e64e6669aa7a87d7a4e8751cefa4cce/analysis/1396667413/ DirServer.exe https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/749ba95c066cbb19876101393595baaa823c123695ec0b32b185f09e9536eea3/analysis/1396667515/
  14. Greetings, Recently I have been notified by someone that when they try to download a file from hlrse.net using Google Chrome it prevents them from downloading the file altogether citing that the website has been flagged for malware. Upon investigation, Google Webmaster Tools identifies three files: http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ServerKit-Full.exe http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ServerKit-v2-Full.exe http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ServerKit-v3-Full.exe Upon further investigation, I found that the file responsible is dirserver.exe which is written by PriitK. You can find a VirusTotal scan at https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/9d9631ff6060ed1ea3d0326c189b9f4ff402d51ad0bd488c2a35bacfeae42a41/analysis/1396661078/. The ServerKit-v4-Full.exe and ServerKit-v5-Full.exe were not flagged because they contain a different dirserver.exe, in particular Snrrrub's directory server, which has a certain problem I forgot about that caused me to remove it and use PriitK's. I didn't use doc_flabby's directory server either because it also has/had a directory poisoning bug (spams up the list with dead entries). So here's the low-down: getcontinuum.com points to http://www.hlrse.net/subspace/Continuum040Setup.exeUsers with Chrome can't download it because website is flagged for malware because of PriitK's dirserver.exe in ServerKit-Full.exeWhat do I do? I would appreciate your advice and wisdom. Thanks! Sincerely, Joshua Szanto
  15. @Xog: My guess is either because you have a firewall behind you that is blocking ports, or running something like NoScript. ;o EDIT: Nevermind, read it works in Firefox. Definitely neither. You might try completely uninstalling Chrome and then installing the latest public stable Chrome from scratch. I had used one of the least stable developer Chrome versions and it didn't work until I reinstalled it as public stable. EDIT2: Blah, I don't know if that is it seeing Hakaku is having the same symptoms but with Firefox. I don't think I'm offering useful advice.
  16. http://news.cnet.com/8301-11386_3-57486458-76/watch-nasas-live-coverage-of-mars-rover-landing/ (You can find the live stream also at http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html - both sites have an embed) This is the rover that there have been a lot of videos about regarding its several stages of safely landing a sensitive rover. You'll probably want to start watching at the following times: 10:00 PM Pacific Time (West Coast) 11:00 PM Mountain Time 12:00 PM Central Time (Missouri/Chicago) 1:00 AM Eastern Time (East Coast) EDIT: Also, in case you do not realize why this is so "important" or a big deal -- see
  17. dotproduct is an HTML5 online multiplayer asteroids-like space shooter that my friend at Google, I, and another team member are developing. Presently, it is only available to play through Facebook authentication at http://dev.nanavati.net:8000/. The first official game event will begin at 5PM -6GMT (Central Time / Chicago), or about 30 minutes from time of posting. I invite you to come and give this game a whirl. =) You need either Chrome, Firefox, Waterfox, or Safari (or a browser that can handle HTML5 and websockets). At this time, dotproduct is most optimized for Chrome, but will work fine in Firefox. Controls reference: http://dev.nanavati.net:8000/img/keys.png ENTER to initiate chat. Numbers 1-4 to change ship. Greens give you upgrades and rewards. Firing bullets and bombs uses energy, so when you fire weapons shields go down. Your energy bar is at the top of the screen. (Videos of dotproduct @ )

  19. Greetings, This will not be confined to Facebook, and people will not be able to lookup your Facebook and message your Facebook buddies and friends, etcetera. Authentication will be opened up to Google accounts as well, and possibly Yahoo, OpenID, and other gateways as well. This form of authentication is good because of ban management and that a user database already exists. Eventually, you will be able to choose your own alias to hide your real name from other players. This does not use any SubSpace protocols, so no, it isn't connected to anything known as a "biller". It uses its own server. There will be a distributable form of the server, but we haven't gotten that far and wouldn't be releasing it any time soon so as to not fragment the user base. It does support arenas, but have this function disabled (again to prevent user base fragmentation, and lack of present necessity). We want to make this available to as wide and broad of a population as possible. This includes iPad users. Sincerely, Joshua Szanto
  20. Posted at https://github.com/s...roduct/issues/8 We've also opened up a Facebook Group page @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/397971173585691/ so that you can keep up-to-date with us.
  21. Greetings, Here is a video of what Sharvil and I have got of dotproduct: Video from 2012-07-14 - Video from 2012-07-13 - Video from 2010-10-31 - Play - http://dev.nanavati.net:8000/ Here are some tips: * Use Ctrl or Alt to fire guns; Alt is definitely good for Mac OS X users since Ctrl and CMD are bound to system-wide commands * Use Tab to fire bombs * Use Arrow keys to move around * Hit Enter to start chat (and hit Enter again to submit) * Pickup greens to get upgrades (bomb+gun upgrades, instant energy recharge) * Hit a number 1-8 if you want to change ships (need full energy, limited to 1 change per 3 seconds) * When you fire weapons, your energy (aka shields) drains. When you do not fire weapons, your energy (aka shields) recharges * There is an energy bar at the top-center of the canvas http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/dotproduct_keys_20120715-1210.png This canvas-based game has been in development since October 2010, and as of recent has resumed development. It has been tested with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Waterfox. We are looking for potential candidates for SVS zone development and operation. If you are interested, please contact me. It is highly recommended that you have a Facebook and Google account. Thanks! http://github.com/sharvil/dotproduct/ to submit bug reports, feature requests, etc. Facebook group at https://www.facebook...7971173585691/. Sincerely, Joshua Szanto
  22. What did FrequencyShift do again? *nostalgia*
  23. has a mention of Continuum
  24. Unable to connect to server. Tried both 174.125.77.190 and 207.119.108.214
  25. I can see some people having a second monitor just for stuff like radar, player list, and chat. Chat could occupy bottom half, and both the player list and radar taking up the upper half 50% of the page width each.
