Heh, not exactly the way I meant it. I think some of the coders in the Subspace (this) community are only willing, now, to code for ASSS and ASSS related only, and no longer code for anything that is not ASSS. I appreciate seeing coders who are willing to step out of that comfort zone of ASSS.
-
Do you still have those empty folders? The names of those would be nice too, might even help figure out some past zone hosts.
-
Heh, this is awesome. I have just a little too much on my list.. I would feel somewhat ashamed and bashful-like to present it before you. Finally some dedicated developers in the community who are not ASSS-only people (I hope atleast).
-
Hah, just had a thought. If a PocketPC had slight problems being able to render Subspace graphics, it could be stripped down enough to where ships would be textureless (nulled faces), wireframe (white colored) ships, a "null" background (or just black), wireframe projectiles, and perhaps wireframe walls (with some light shading inside them).

Attach whatever you have.

For people who have a little bit of time and have a little bit of interest: http://www.hlrse.net/virginiatech PS. If you are very easily ticked off, perhaps you want to save this link for some other time when you have calmed down and/or have a low blood pressure.

Planned Release Date: June 7 (Thursday), 2007 (Click Here!) NOTE :: Just wait for a DBZ Revival Release thread. !@#$%^&*o! As some of you may know, I have been given full control over Dragonball Z (not ownership) by Bigshot3754 and Rick James to give a shot at reviving Dragonball Z. I have taken this project onto a full scale, and so far have made excellent progress. I need you to help me. If you have any old Dragonball Z/GT maps, settings, news files, tilesets, etc - then please help out and send them to me, as they will become of use to me. If you could also help me out on dates (for example, "this map" was from the first-half 2001 era of Dragonball GT, and "that map" was from the 2002 era for Dragonball Z, etc), that would be great. I want to do!@#$%^&*ent as much as possible while I work. If you do not have other files, you can help me out in another way, possibly. I need to know the playername's of people (and/or networks and their administrator or host) who.. -Previous zone hosts of Dragonball Z (also give network prefix, ie. SSCU), -Aided in Graphical and Level design, -Past Sysops, -Dragonball Z Veterans. If you want to email it to me, send it to admin@hlrse.net. Thank you very much for any amount of information you contribute to aide me in this 2007 Revival Project. Regards, Joshua PS. Website is finished and fully functional. All components of this project will not be published in SSCI Dragonball Z, and will be of offline works until the day of completion. I want to "release" everything at once; a blitzkrieg. EDIT :: I also need help tracking down and getting Gemini Dream's attention for something I need to speak with him about. EDIT2 :: For those that wanted to see what the Dragonball Z website front page will look like, click any of the following thumbnails to see in full 1600x1200 resolution. Anybody who is for gun control / opposing the real right to bear arms: http://www.gunfacts.info/pdfs/gun-facts/4....ts4-1-Print.pdf

Nope, the ones where all ships could fire bombs without using any energy; where non-prox bombs were deadly; where prox bombs rarely killed anyone. Currently, I have been working on the website all day. I might be able to finish the website altogether by the end of this day.

Midi's are ok for low-end audio. Some music that I've heard before wasn't that bad on midi either, sounded pretty decent. Might give a nostalgia feeling though. Pretty much the midi is like at a set pace, each pace a certain key of sound is played (my little guess explaining why midi's are very inexpensive when it comes to filesizes).

Bigshot3754 is still owner of Dragonball Z. What he did was give Rick James, Lynx, and I full control over DBZ to give a try of running DBZ. Heh, now it's my turn. I have gotten full permission from Rick James and Bigshot3754 to take full control. What I hope to do within the coming weeks (or ~2 months, hopefully much sooner) is to restore Dragonball Z to the good old days. I don't care what Dragonball Z veterans say; I will be restoring many things and degrading the bot to where Staff actually has objectives and responsibilty. I will completely revamp the whole staff management and hirring processes to be more ethical. The map will go back to old times too. The news file will be a grand change, probably the best news file design (and such) that Dragonball Z has ever had. Whether my "revival" works or not, it is the best DBZ can ever get - and so let it be. Here are some uber secret plans. Spoilers: 1) Personal checklist & Notes (http://www.hlrse.net/.dbzsecret/Checklist.txt) 2) PDF News File Preview (http://www.hlrse.net/.dbzsecret/news.pdf) (Looks very good in Continuum's News window.) Currently I must retrieve some old settings & settings archives from Gemini Dream (and if anybody else has some, please let me know about it or send a copy to admin@hlrse.net through e-mail) and speak to Death+ regarding having access to the BOTS directory so that I can analyze what I need to do with the bot. I want to "release" all this on one day at the same time.

Putting together an LVZ with DCME tutorial
L.C. replied to grazzhoppa's topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
In Valve Hammer Editor (Map Editor for Half-Life) it is extremely easy and quick to use the method that I had illustrated for you. I could create a ready-to-go en!@#$%^&*y in <5 to <10 seconds. You simly right click in the grid, select Create Point-En!@#$%^&*y in right-click menu, select the damage/booleans/functions of the en!@#$%^&*y real quick, close the window, and then move the Point-en!@#$%^&*y where you want it on the grid. Ok. I'll stop. -

I honestly think that it would have been much easier to go ahead with the design/layouts I drew in MSPaint (but this is sheerly opinion, of course). But hey, you gained some experience using trees. Nothing is more important than having more experience and a broader spectrum of coding abilities (I'm not being sarcastic anywhere in this post). -
I hate it when this happens. Enom sucks. They were charging me a ripoff $15/year for hlrse.com. I had to go with someone else. There was no grace period or atleast I was unaware. It was supposed to be released a year later, but apparently now it seems like it is in a permanent hole of forever unrentable.

When did you start playing subspace and under what alias ?
L.C. replied to Killerbot's topic in General Discussion
1998 - Late 2004, Early 2006 - x Either SSCX Alpha Zone, Death Star Battle, or some other Beginner level SVS zones. Sometimes I roamed around in other zones. One zone that I favoritely played in at one point for a bit was Sub-i-cide. Anyone remember that zone? Under different alias' that I no longer remember. -
Ah, thank you Chambahs. Figured out how to use the properties of the Magnetic L!@#$%^&*o/Crop. :]

http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/cs3replacetransparency.gif I've been able to manage controlling the color of the white part of that firey object. I have tried a few methods, but none of them have I been successful in. I want to replace that white with transparency without affecting the colored part of the pixels. How do I do that?
-
Well really, it doesn't hurt to have multiple extensions supported as long as the proper codecs (if any necessary) are also provided.
-
I agree with this too. The reason I "added MP3 and OGG" to the list was because they can be sometimes a little more convenient than the WAV format. OGG might be a bit more intimidating than MP3 and WAV though, but atleast whoever would have knowledge in using and converting to those formats would be able to take advantage of abilities.

Are you banned on SSC and want to play Online Astroids RPG?
L.C. replied to Gravitron's topic in General Discussion
It went low below freezing point recently. Froze the hose. -
My cousins have 5mbit / 320kbps cable (that was just an estimate). The upload speed seems to be capped at around 30 to 33 KB/sec, while you can get download speeds from 900 to 1.3 MB/sec (up in the MB/sec is a bit rare though).

Has anyone tried to order that package yet?

Sad to see SVS do such a thing and have this to happen, but justice must be served. -_-
