  3. (Oh right, you're looking for Linux-based chat clients.) Well if you are alright with Wine, you could give SubChat a try. But then you'd need at least VIP access to the zone you want to use it in.
  4. http://forums.ssgn.net/index.php?showtopic=24087&view=findpost&p=258251 EDIT: That isn't convenient for you though. I doubt you would want to download ~2GB just for a couple KB (or even MB) of data for a single skin.
  5. Your completely wrong here, have you ever seen fighter jets fight? They fire hundreds a bullets at a time, and up to 4-6+ rockets, its not realistic in the slightest, and people like speed, hence the success of all the Xbox games, imagine call of duty if you walked around really slow and then shot one bullet at the enemy? Nobody would play it. Chess > Tic-Tac-Toe The point was that in a 2D top-view spaceshooter LIKE SUBSPACE the "realistic" you talk of does not work. IN SUBSPACE that would NOT be realistic (based on your definition once again) because of the NATURE of the game. Additionally, IN SUBSPACE, the more "super" a zone is, the less and less skill such zones of said genre require. Because of the NATURE of SVS, SVS is very comparable to the simple yet complex game of chess. In the real world, yeah, it's fucking easy to shoot a million bullets to make one kill (so much for skill).

  18. http://www.hlrse.net/subspace/TCAdmin_SubspaceInstall_2010-08-02.rar This archive contains my configurations and files for support Subspace serverware on TCAdmin. If you need help getting your Windows server setup with TCAdmin (as well as getting this configurations and files imported, and having a quick tutorial on how to start automating serverware creations), contact me. TCAdmin is a professional gamehosting software (not free). All you need is a Windows server and some additional money laying around for the TCAdmin licenses. I would recommend purchasing the Master Server License for $200 for lifetime ownership (first year of updates are free, but there is a very small sum for every additional year for extended update support). At the moment, Linux is not supported by TCAdmin, but I think they are slowly working on a Linux version of TCAdmin. TCAdmin is a great, easy, simple and professional way to offer gamehosting services to your clients, customers, and freeloaders. EDIT: FYI, on our server, Bjorn's AI works best using v1.02 files minus aimervbot.exe (which uses the v1.01 executable).
  19. Subspace isn't going to die. IRC didn't die.

Hah, wow. You've got a lot of time and love. WE COULD USE MORE SVS MAPS TOO! Er, I mean, who plays SVS nowadays?
  21. I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. I hack websites. I know what to protect myself from But you're absolutely right, I can't know for SURE. My point was that boasting, especially like that, isn't wise.

  23. Meh, I ignore the political articles, and I definitely agree with you about bias when it comes to comments. The comments are shit for politics and related. I mainly read Slashdot for the interesting tech/IT articles.
  24. lawl I thought BP was British Petroleum. D: Anyway, having observed all the articles on Slashdot about what BP is doing since the incident, I think it's safe to say BP is full of shit and doesn't give a damn about the oil spill, and are doing whatever they possibly can to not spend money on the spill.
  25. Isn't like 1/3 or 2/3rds of the sea/ocean creatures supposed to die?
