  1. Doesn't ASSS, as it is packaged right now, have issues "running out of the box"? And if I recall correctly, there are a bunch of things from the main configuration file that are missing.. oh wait. I was working on including that in the Server Kit. X_x oops. @Resol Maybe one day when I shall have time I will be able to finish 'including' a preconfigured run-on-demand ASSS in my Server Kit.
  2. Or use Subgame2.

My family and I have about 5-6 2G Geo Prizms (all but mine out of commission) and one 3G Geo Prizm. I loooooooooooooooovee Geo Prizms. 3G sucks; 2G all the way!
  4. Hah, yeah, I know. I was just playing devil's advocate. If I had the money, I would have a SVS map competition open to all with lots of cash prizes. EDIT: Although a competition like that would actually yield useful resources and material.
  5. We're turning into mercenaries, WOO!

  7. Unless the game wasn't based off of proprietary, plugin-based software.
  8. The only thing that is going to get this game back on its feet is (1) focus on the browser and cell markets only, and (2) preferably paid and/or dedicated at heart, organized and structured development. If a developer is not "dedicated at heart," then they develop out of "self-interest," which is what the majority of developers (practically just about everyone with only a couple exceptions), which will not work. Development has to be structured and organized the same way as if everyone was being paid, as if everyone were in a team under a game development company, and if there was distinct direction. This also means there has to be a power hierarchy and developer's will sometimes have to do something they don't want to at someone else' orders. Today's market is a different one. A client that must be downloaded and installed won't cut it these days. It must be playable through the browser from any computer regardless of operating system, and should support as many of the mainstream browsers possible. Cell phones are included in this (but as a secondary objective). Fail to realize this? Then good luck. Until this point is realized, your product will be a critical failure if you seek to replace Continuum (because some developers, again, doing it out of self-interest, are more interested in the programming experience, the learning, etcetera, NOT the game -- such motives can easily be masked to mislead people). My two cents. Fortunately, this is already being done and worked on with good progress.

  10. I still don't see how you can read that. I have enlarged it and manually zoomed it.. and all it is is blurry text. :\ Even trying to "think" what it says would be way too much of a stretch to say it's "Subspace" (looks a little shorter than that, and looks like it starts with an N). EDIT: Oh wait, durr. Click on the image for full size. http://xkcd.com/802_large/

The problem with Trac is that Trac is an SVN, whereas this isn't necessarily like that. Additionally, Trac is specially designed and targeted at programmers and the high-end/technical spectrum, whereas TeamStack is for generally anything and anyone. Trac is not for the faint-hearted, whereas TeamStack is simple, basic, and geared toward ANYTHING (yet is supposed to be flexible enough for programmers to add to it -- or will be in the coming future). Not saying Trac is a bad tool (because it is a great tool), but unfortunately it will not suit most of our target audience and has higher resource requirements for installation and maintenance.

Demo mode saves nothing, thus why it "malfunctions." D: I would agree though that demo mode could be better. I'm setting up a non-demo for you guys. EDIT: http://www.hlrse.net/teamstack I have created User1, User2, User3, User4, User5, User6, User7, User8, User9, and User10. All of them have a password of abc123 (unless someone changed it; please avoid doing this ).

Home isn't really a page, but more like an "index" file. You can create pages, and from the Home page link back to them. You're not supposed to open 51835912 instances of Home, even though you could. That's like opening ten calc's from the Run prompt to solve a 10-step equation, and performing each step in a separate calculator; nothing is stopping you from opening more calculators, even though that isn't necessary. Well, if you feel about it that way, that's alright! We're just looking for feedback, and we'd appreciate it if we could get some more commenters and feedback from other people too. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/teamstack.gif

That's normal actually; there's really no reason to limit how many instances of a box can be opened. It doesn't harm anything. Every box has a unique ID attached, and when you open a new one, its ID is an increment of the previous. Multisessions are supported, so with a multi-LCD setup, you could have multiple Firefox (or browser you use) instances and do things simultaneously and have different things open.
  17. Friend of mine recently got to a release-ready stage in the development of this software, but we're looking for some feedback. TeamStack is a web-platform for team-based collaboration. We would very much appreciate the feedback. http://www.rjscodingrealm.com/teamstack.php EDIT: FYI...

  21. Roughly $0.03/GB for bandwidth. More than likely less because someone has to make a profit when they service your colodedi. (EDIT: Yeah, definitely. At least a penny cheaper if not more; gets really fractional.) EDIT2: I'm not sure how you did the math. OCD + Perfectionism + ADHD = *this* Has to be as perfect and maximized and minimized as possible. Hahaha! Besides, someone has to do the dirty work that nobody else is willing to do!!! EDIT3: Also, I don't care if "it makes me look smart or not" (actually I don't care what people think as far as this goes; I do what I do). I know what and why I am doing what I do. It's not going to be wasted effort.
  22. No, you're correct. I had gone through and compared every WA2/WAV, and also responsible for the PNG/GIF replacements (about 6 of them are GIFs because in those cases GIF > PNG in compression and filesize). Currently working on.. MP3 - 64, 128, 192, 256, 320 AAC - 64, 128, 192, 256, 320 OGG - q=-2, q=-1, q=0, q=1, q=2, q=3, q=4, q=5, q=6, q=7, q=8, q=9, q=10 I think I was also doing another format, but I forgot. I got all the MP3s done. Doing AAC and OGG should take about 4 hours of manual labor and only a few minutes of automated labor.

  24. The background is transparent actually (so I didn't switch but removed). It's a PNG. But you still get semi-transparent pixels, which doesn't solve the issue. Not that you said it did, but just making it clear Not enough to make it matter. You could argue that it is quite a possibility that before a black background was applied to ships.bm2 that the ships themselves were originally rendered upon a transparent surface. Just look at the edges on that Warbird! The larger you resize the image to, and then the smaller you resize that image too (or rather the more distinct binary difference you make in large and small versions), the better and more accurate the quality as far as getting rid of "antialiasing." If you analyzed my image there and move it onto different background colors (and focused on the small resized warbird that has no background), either you wouldn't notice the antialiased edges, or its too minor to notice without analyzing it at maximum zoom in Photoshop, or it doesn't have any antialiasing because the binary difference is great enough to rid of the antialiasing effect. I hope you understood what I just typed ^^ because I sure don't. X_x
