  1. Seems if you google "Windows 8 Consumer Preview Sound Not Working" this thread is the number 1 search result. Odd... http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-sound/i-have-no-sound-in-windows-8-consumer-preview-how/faca951a-97fb-4843-8302-1620f767b12d Might help those ending up here. And while you are here, [advert] maybe give Continuum a shot. Free download, Free to play, Highly Addicting [/advert]
  2. Upgrading Forum Software from IP.Board 3.3.2 to 3.3.3 Will try to do it Friday night to cause the least disturbances. May also install a 2nd darker skin this weekend if time permits.

    FIX THE WEBSITE

    11 days
  4. ^ horrible player
  5. reminds me, need to upgrade this skin.
  6. Everything should be moved and working. I think Quotes and D1st0rt's websites are the only 2 things I have yet to restore. Going to start a side project of archiving a lot of old out of date websites at http://archive.subspace.co/ . Might even upload the old SubSpace.net content, Zoner content, etc. If anyone has any old SS websites they'd like to see uploaded there, just send em to me. Could become a could little side project for the history of this game. Maybe even revamp the old network bar to an archive bar so you can quickly browse the archived sites. Dunno, might be interesting to someone. Also planning to work on the content here more. Need to get the screenshots and descriptions done in the "Servers" section. I have most the screens, just need to tweak and upload them. Also found the back up I made of the old files section, so will begin uploading all of those files. Will keep ya updated.
  7. HS and Deva websites moved (need to hit up HS admins to let them know new ip). Phoenix and Chaos websites moved (fixed chaos website since their web admin has gone mia). Waiting on SSCentral.com dns to update properly with server so I can add it without erroring at me. SSCentral.com websites only ones waiting (this included ssforum.net redirects).
  8. got the SSC Lostpass / Ban tickets websites working again. Going go begin taring and moving the rest of the websites later this afternoon (wife wants to goto store). Also realized stupidly that all I need to do to move all the domains (minus HS's website which points to IP) is just update where ns1.subspace.co and ns2.subspace.co point (duh ). Hoping the entire move will be done by the end of the weekend, and that noone notices besides my posts
  9. My DNS has updated, and everything seems to be running good and smooth. Other websites should be running fine as I did configure the DNS NS entries for SubSpace.co on the new server to continue pointing to the old server. I will begin moving the content for those domains over soon and have their admins set the new dns. So far, so good.
  10. I use it and it works pretty good tbh, been very useful when the wife wants to stay up and pump while I want to sleep. Allows us to turn the lights off without the screen killing her eyes or her having to learn how to change anything.
  11. Improve the ride: Coilovers and drop it a couple inches. Maybe a sway bar, but I found just dropping my teggie to 4.5" & 5.5" improved it enough. Alloy wheels, ditch the heavy steelies. And could go low profile on the tires for looks, but not necessary. Getting a good set of A/S Sport tires is more important. Engine: Quick cheap and dirty... CAI. New plugs, wires, and (think 2001 is right for it) ignition coil. Also run some lucas oil through the engine and trani to clean em out. Emissions: If you throw on a CAI with 4+ inch tubing, upgrade your exhaust with a high flow cat and muffler. Doesn't do you a lot of good if you can suck it in faster but still can't push it out faster. Also keep away from the tuner mufflers, lot of kids think they "sound cool" but I have seen many on the market that also limit the air flow to push the exhaust through and create that sound. You can find the same style that are just well open and get a nice deep throaty sound, which I myself prefer. A few quick cheap things that you could do for under 3k easy (less if you buy cheap stuff) and improve it enough to be fun. Definately won't be no ricer, but still will give it a nice boost.
  12. Not all hondas have VTEC...
  13. If you still have the hosting and zone files, lemme know. I know a couple of the guys I could work with to get it back up and running. The MG players are a unique crowd to control. Been involved with the zone since birth, so might as well see what I can do to revive it again.
  14. Try your User folder. Either at the top, or inside Documents. It is a permissions issue with Windows.
  15. Move your continuum folder to your C:\ directory (IE: C:\Program Files (x86)\Continuum to C:\Continuum)
  16. Update. I didn't renew SSGN.net or SubSpaceOnline.com Google has fully purged them from its search engine, so let them die. This is the domain we will stick with from here on out. Short, sweet, has SubSpace in the name, and I plan to renew it for 3yrs when I get my summer bonus. (no it is not that expensive, just feel that is the money I can spend on what I please).
  17. Yeah, found that out. and Hi.

    virus

I had this issue back around the 20th of march with Microsoft Security Essentials targeting multiple files on my computer. It went after quite a few games and many random files (Adobe Acrobat had a couple files it wanted to quarentine for the same "Ramnit Worm"). In our case it seems to be directly going after the menures.dll and menu040.dll files. It also alerted me on my subgame2.exe A couple days later it stopped constantly popping up about the files, and when I scanned it didn't go after any of them. I noticed it had just updated the definitions that night, so I tossed it up to a error on their part. Going to assume it was also in an AVG update due to the massive amount of people reporting this issue on a couple of game forums.
  19. It is inevitable that any game will eventually die. We have far outlived any expectations, even the expectations of the community itself. I can still recall many of the early people who helped push this game back up leaving thinking we wouldn't last another 2 or 3 years. Well 10 years later we are still here. Priit made Continuum closed source for many other good reasons beyond Security and Obscurity. But in reality it has worked very well. Granted he does have many other security checks that hinder your average script kiddie harmless in their attempts. It also helped limit the features put into the game, and kept it going on a straight track. If you saw some of the ideas that were thrown out at the time for Continuum by various other sysops and programmers alike, you'd realize why controlling what was built into it was a good idea. Otherwise the shmorgishborg of features would make creating a zone or even navigating the client a total headache.
  20. There is no way that web design (which honestly almost looks like a modified template, but even if not) was worth $1650. The total of that + the whole integration thing makes it a bit fishy to me.
  21. Downside is Junks told me who donated the $200, but I can't remember who it was.
  22. 1,005 clicks so far. ~30 clicks left of funds based on current CPC cost. Dunno what effect it had as far as gaining new players, but we did get a lot of downloads from it.
  23. sadly not many people toy with their personal shipsets as much anymore. Dunno why, but so much of the customization of this game seems to be a lost art.

    ping loss

That is a zone setting, not a personal setting. Best to post in HS forum asking about their lag settings.
