  1. I got some people back when .40 came out spamming the forums m!@#$%^&* e-mail and forcing it to ignore people who opted out of it. Thing is, I don't even play anymore. Just come on to check these forums, see if anyone has been online in game I need, and yeah.
  2. it is an error in Continuum loading the .dat files. Sometimes closing it and re-opening it right away fixes it. But it also sometimes will write over the existing files, and all is lost. Kind of an odd bug, never has been addressed really as it just is randomly caused, no commonly found situations even for those it happens to a lot.
  3. Yeah. When I was younger, my family use to go up there atleast once a month during the summer. Even camped at Cougar Campgrounds a few times.
  4. Joe the Plumber really isn't even a licensed plumber amongst other things they've found out (debt, arrests, etc.)... Poor McCain needs to find himself new advisors to help him stop picking the wrong people to support his calling. I'm almost feeling bad for the guy.
  5. Figured i'd share too from my recent hiking trip. Girlfriend had never been to any mountains before, so figured I'd take her to one. Mt St Helens isn't being too active lately, so figured i'd take her to Mt Rainier. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/01.JPG hiked to Panorama Pt. (6800ft, ~1500 ft above the start). Camp Muir (little over 10,000ft) is last stop before climbing to peak (14411ft). Plan to hike to Camp Muir and then hopefully in next few years, climb to peak. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/02.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/03.JPG Bear rooting for berries http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/04.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/05.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/06.JPG One day want to be standing at this point http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/07.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/08.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/09.JPG The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/10.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/11.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/12.JPG One last shot from a distance
  6. Not trying to say much, but I'll link you to the 20+ other threads just like this for ideas if you'd like. And those are only a few if you take us losing almost ,000 posts out of general a few years back, and being around 100 others then.
  7. Interesting... Always wanted to do that with some of the BF:Vietnam maps. But stuck on Battlefield: Bad Company right now, so maybe load up Vietnam later.
  8. I'll delete any post I feel like.
  9. Just got done uploading everything last night. Plugging SSC and SSDL into SSF's user db. Lots of talk in the admin forum, will post more about it later.
  10. I'll see if I can't get ahold of Dustpuppy. Been debating merging it into either ssf or ssc for a while now.
  11. yeah, been all over the news. So far still hasn't been caught. He posted it as a job oppurtunity one of the guys said. Told him to show up wearing exactly what he did when he robbed the bank, and to meet him outside the bank. So when cops showed up, it took them a while to figure out who was who and wth was going on. By then someone reported they saw him hopping onto an intertube, and a few news copters chased him for a while, but somehow he dissapeared under a bunch of trees and noone found him yet. Just his intertube.

http://web.archive.org/web/20020402100805/www.sscentral.com/ Wow... the days when I actually had time for this place...
  13. Riddle is wrong that is why... The riddle goes: A man was found dead in the desert, naked, and holding a straw. Why was he naked, why was the straw in his hand, and what was the straw for? Spoiler! --Click here to view--The man and his friends car broke down, but having a small hot air balloon inside they all got in it. They we're too heavy so they took off their clothes. That didn't help much so they drew straws to see who would jump off, and that man got the shortest straw A teacher once had this on a test, and we spent 2 weeks trying to figure it out in class for extra credit... only reason I remember it. Even modifying the answer to try and fit that riddle, which is based off this one no doubt, won't make sense. Probably why you can't find an answer anywhere, as even I tried when I saw this.
  14. The issue with DAWS... it has all sorts of data recorded the biller doesn't record... Zone's Scoreid, Name, Squad, Kills, Deaths, Flags (not sure what is recorded here yet), Score, and Flagscore are all that are recorded. It doesn't break down anymore than that. Same as your normal biller scores.
  15. So what features would you like to see this time around? I'd like to make searching more of a side feature than the main feature honestly. List zones with total players, squads, kills, deaths, points, etc. Then click on zone name for more zone specific stats, and can search within that zone, or display certain stats only. Just my idea so far.
  16. My 10 year is coming up.... ew... Oct 3rd is also my 1st government paycheck... yay!
  17. If it was Estonian, then we'd be talking. As the game client we currently use was developed there, and so the laws protecting it in Estonia would apply. That is like saying a US law protected a man from going to jail in Germany... We could unite what is left of the web community in a few days easily if we wanted. Thing is, I work 40+ hrs a week to pay the bills and enjoy life, and don't have all the time and devotion anymore it would take to do such. I prefer using my Sundays to sleep in and then watch football... just me though.
  18. Pointless seeing as I am already working on such... but meh.
  19. Well, tell that to the web consortium's (sp?) web certifications I took back in HS. Took HTML, CSS, and XHTML, and always was required to do so. And until recently, have never had any issues.
  20. All fixed... it seems: body { margin: 0px; padding 0px; }; doesn't flow with FF/Chrome/etc... Removed all the ; (semi-colons) from the end of the css lines, and all works... I don't get it, but eh. Works on FF2/Chrome/IE. Seems FF3 has some weird issue with Optgroup and tabbing the options 1 space to the right, but I'll look into it.
  21. I'd agree with Gitmo being fully ok, if it wasn't for the fact how many of them down there have been released innocent after all the years of torcher they put up with.
  22. What it feels like to be a Guantanamo Bay Guard http://www.esquire.com/features/what-it-fe...namo-guard-0808 What it feels like to be a Guantanamo Bay Prisoner http://www.esquire.com/features/what-it-fe...o-prisoner-0808 http://www.esquire.com/features/wifl-08-ex...ok-excerpt-0808 I actually had heard about his book, but now I kinda think I might get it and read it. Not trying to start anything political here... just some good reading worth sharing.
  23. Oh and on the trend of SSForum and browsers... Was 52-45 FF, but now 49-46 with IE taking lead in past few months, and trending upwards.
  24. I'm just trying to get something fully functional and useable. I have someone realiable redesigning SSCentral, so won't have to wait 1.5yrs for some fonts/graphics we need done and not get them. Taking it back to the way I ran it as a functional site also. Not some static sit there and do nothing site. Mostly tailoring it like any other website for a program. News, About, Features, Downloads, Media, ~Mystery Link~, Forums. Pretty much we're redesigning all the sites around our community. SSDownloads is getting a face lift in the next few weeks. IPB 3.0 will give SSForum a needed facelift and new features. SSCentral redesign. And the re-introduction of an old site with a new face and functionality. SSForum's issues gave us a hiccup, but SSDownloads will be back on par shortly.
  25. so when the blackholes do open up they have time to hop in their little spaceships and fly to the secret space station on the moon. Once the earth is sucked in the moon has a big booster rocket so it can shoot off into space... But back to reality, something so big, you think would be locked down more. But then again, look at how many times the CIA or FBI have been hacked.
