All seems fine and working now...

They're keeping very low key, besides updating their site. Some think they may release w/ IPB 3.0, as a huge package update, but dunno yet.

http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/ips_n...?showentry=2385 So all our skins will break this time... Fine by me, time we started over. Plus they are SUPER excited for their new default skin, more than usual, so we'll see how this goes.

can't fix what I can't see isn't working. Edit: nvm, broken on ssdl also. Will fix in the morning. Think I'm going to recode it all, cause it's always given issues with css, being it is all just css divs.

Congrats bro.

probably just how the carbonation builds in a tightly sealed thing, can you handle flat pop? Nope. Doc told me it was possibly the sugar. Cause some sugary treats gimme the same thing.

Cream Soda and Milk is good sometimes. It's just like adding vanilla ice cream to your rootbeer for a rootbeer float and the ice cream melts some so you just drink up the rest. I drink a lot of diet soda, only because the regular gives me heart burn 90% of the time, well canned and bottled mostly. Fountain I can typically handle. Something w/ the sugar is all I can guess, or the way they bottle it.

Our community here at SSCentral has always hung on IPS and their work. Something they have slacked on for the past while, with all their constant updates and changes, and being limited to having to keep compatibility w/ older software. Finally for IPB 3.0, they will drop all support for older php4, oracle, and a lot of the unused features of the forum that waste code space. They are also spreading a lot more of the forum code out (no more single super class file), and recoding 3.0 from ground up, something phpBB did and saw great results in their new forum running faster and less server intensive. They're also working to make IPB more integratable between its components, your website, and future software, such as IPS' new Nexus w/ its Dynamic and Downloads plugins (SSCentral and SSDownloads future, 1 universal login for all 3 of our sites. And 1 universal specialized nav bar for the 3). They're giving us a chance to redesign our community around here, and build the centralized websites strong again. I for one am excited for this, and will help the admins get it all together and working properly. I have some days off coming up w/ no plans yet, so setting 1 aside to do this is no issue. Tried it, didn't like it...

http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/0805...tter-found.html Probably something to do w/ this maybe.

No. More like that is the downside to having you're e-mail all over SS websites for many years. Main reason I stopped listing it anywhere. It is very simple to figure out though. Nice thing is, when I deleted it for a yr, I was getting ~600-800/day previous. So a nice decrease, mhmm... But now, I bet it'll increase once again.

mm. It could very possibly be a black hole. They've been searching for many years to see if there is a blackhole at the center of galaxys. I'm kind of curious now..

What me and TT have planned for SSF/SSC/SSDL will unite the sites more than they have ever been before. The particular piece of software should be out of beta at the latest in June. Possibly earlier. At such point I will help w/ setup, and getting the administrators comfortable w/ such product. It should really help make things easier for them, and require less of my activity or need be called upon.

Official? How is it official in any way? According to SSWiki, the Subspace Continuum Wikipedia: I never edited that cause I never thought anyone would take it so seriously... but really, it is not. As me and TT and others have discussed, GetContinuum.com is a great page to point possible new players to for information, yes. But once they get started, it really doesn't help them in any way, as they can find the same links they need elsewhere, or on their zones website. So really, calling it the official portal, is kind of misleading. It is more the Official Continuum Advertising website if anything, which as I remember, is what Wonderer was originally aiming for.

Possibly on some of my days off if the g/f and friends are workin. But dunno. Right now just seeing how things are going w/ my 99% afk from administration.

!@#$%^&*a. Come out here to the island. Saves me paying $3 to get off of it, lol. !@#$%^&*... gotta do that when I got pick the g/f up from the airport... my "Good to Go" is on my honda, not her car. Oh well... To the other posts, I'll still probably post occasionally, but my administration will be none. I'm fully LEAVING, just, no longer playing or administrating these forums. Granted I may be gone for months at a time, but eh, i'll try to drop in. And to JDS: trust me, there is a lot to do to keep these forums and site up and running. According to ACP ~3000 actions done by me since Jan 2006. Add in stuff in the ftp, file edits, reinstalls, etc. it consumes your time quickly. Also w/ sscentral, and getting wiki going, banning people like yourself, 007paul, etc. Cleaning crap up, dealing with bots and spammers, etc. etc. Before you know it, 3-4hrs has passed like nothing. And to add into that... Last month: ~400,000 hits from bots... ~195,000 unique visitors... ~2.9million hits total. We also pushed near the 30gb mark in b/w. So trust me, these forums are constantly getting hit up, and the db always needs some cleaning and monitoring. It has crashed 2x too many in the past, and my goal was it would never happen again. Really, the general posts of our forum, are what brings a lot of the traffic (Search engines), but almost 1.5million of those hits came from direct access (IE: Typed it in, bookmark, etc.). Anyways, gotta go pick up some flowers, and pick the g/f up from the airport. Later.

I was gone for 8 months. Only reason I came back, was to help out Swift. He moved up here to WA and stuff, and needed help on ssforum w/ some things. We we're hangin at his place, and he asked me to do a few things for him, before you know it, I was back in charge of things. He has since quit, and honestly, no offense to anyone, but anyone I would consider a friend in this game, like I did him, has pretty much retired. The people I talked to daily, worked w/ daily, and would meet irl if it ever came up (IE: Swift, and helping him get settled here in WA). On top of having a new job, and possibly keeping a 2nd job, I am going to have little time to even spend behind a PC. Any free time will be spent w/ her and friends. The only time I may come back here, is to see if it is still running. As Swift may forget, or not have ability to renew it again, and this time lose it. Anyways, gonna be sending pm's w/ all the passwords and users needed. Giving D1st0rt control of the WHMs. Freakmonger should already have this, so they should be able to handle things. All for now.
-
Once all is finished... D1st0rt and Samapico will for sure take command of SSForum.net. Freakmonger has not been around, but Trained is getting some of the things needed to finish SSCentral done. So imho, may offer to hand it over to him. I am going to try and get T-man re-involved in his site again, and maybe him and trained take it all over. I'll probably be around to post from time to time, but really, my focus on this community has become null. I am finishing a few final projects, but I have other things I'd rather pursue rather then spending my time on these sites. I'm tired of feeling like I'm ignoring my g/f and friends to work on these sites and keep them up and maintained. I have put a lot of time and energy to get them back alive and running, and now it is time for others to run w/ them. As Swift had said the many times he's told me to just quit like he did, it gets old when 1 man has to do all the work, due to those who have the knowledge to help, don't. So I have had to take time, and help teach, watch, and wait til people could learn to do the things needed to run, update, and work on these sites. Those who know how, won't, and it really kicks the community in the nuts. I mean, sorry to say it, but Freakmonger couldn't code his way out of a box w/ an html cheat sheet, but he tries, so I give him credit for that. Trained I had to teach a lot of html standards, and such, so sscentral would be W3C XHTML certified, and I didn't spend all my time recoding his and freak's pages (although I ended up doing it still, but he's got the knowledge now, so noone should have to in the future). But I think they can learn, and will learn in their actions. Next to Swift, these guys have been the most promising in my eyes to take over these sites in all my years running them. So I put full trust in them, and !@#$%^&*ure you that you can also.

If you look at the credits on the youtube description, it was produced and written by discovery channel. Well, another company, but solely for their commercial.
