Always a nice read. http://www.newsweek.com/id/166692?GT1=43002 Since a lot of people's opinions come from the commercials, and rarely from actually reading anything until they go to debate with someone and try searching/finding anything supporting what they think they know; I always find reading these commercial fact checks worth it every election. It is looked at from both sides equally, so really no point debating on this besides just getting extra info, only reason I'm sharing it.

Yeah, I work for NAVSEA at Naval Station Bremerton as a Toolmaker Machinist. Designing and making all sorts of cool tools.

Seriously... now air force pilot, that makes total sense.

Yeah, and complains I never hang out, and then when I try, is "too busy". Mother!@#$%^&*er... sup uni.

It would be done by your ISP's provider. Whoever they are using to pipe their bandwidth in that direction of the US is causing your issues. Typically AT&T seems to be the ones always going through or having issues with Hopone's routers. They are the most annoying data routers in the country for any gaming, and always blame it on someone else. The best thing you can do is call your isp and tell them you are having connection issues to servers going through the hop one router. Don't tell them it is for gaming, just say multiple websites and servers you have traced that you are having issues with all seem to go through hop one. Won't put a fire under their !@#$%^&*, but it will get them interested.

Especially when those who have played far longer then you have less usage, kinda makes your life look that much sadder... Back to the point, you'll find all the answers in that thread. [ CLOSED ]

Quite frankly I have to disagree with you 100% on this because you are incorrect. Continuum is not a loss nor gain to Valve, and they won't care to put it up. Even it it's just a link to the community. TrackMania for example, is a totally free and independent game from Valve and Steam, even though it is offered through Steam. Where do you think Valve gets a gain from that? Nowhere. I've played the game and checked it out, and I see nothing in the game (including master servers) that have anything to do with Valve or Steam. On top of that, there are several other games on Steam that don't benefit Valve either. I must say, quite naive to throw down the push to get Continuum onto Steam. EDIT :: But of course, I'm always wrong and everything, that is, because I disagree with the mainstream opinion in this community (which doesn't necessarily mean the community is right either). If you don't want to do anything about it -- fine -- but then don't complain that the game is dying because you never dared to venture into the unknown and impossible. There has never been a community push for it; how would YOU know what Valve has to say? No reply is needed for this, because I'm pretty sure I know what kind of comments I would receive on this anyway. I support any and every effort in promoting and moving Continuum forward. However it disgusts me that people would reject ideas because they are too afraid or naive to try (sorry, no offense intended), or simply and honestly don't care (whether they admit it or not). Unless the community makes a move, nobody will ever know. We put them at chance with the fact we're using a stolen server software, and made a clone of an original game/client. Didn't say both applied to us. TrackMania gave them no profit, but it also didn't have any effects on them. You think you're the 1st one to ever think of this or contact valve? This has been discussed, attempted, and talked about many times. Always the same answer from them, always the same outcome for us. Another thing, Valve seems to cause Continuum to crash / vice versa when loading. You can now tell Steam to load any game, and it seems to have to do with the way Continuum is unpacked (according to the ones who we're playing with it, have yet to try it myself). So if we get valve to add us, think they'll spend the time releasing an update just for us? Yes, maybe included with other updates, but they'll more than likely make us do something about it or attempt it 1st, which we cannot. The only reason I knock this down is the fact it is pointless to waste time on something so many others with more pull and control in this game have tried and with no result. --------------------------------- Before we even try to save this game, the community needs a major at!@#$%^&*ude change. Half this games players won't even come to SSForum because of the rampaging idiots I spend half my time controlling. And really, I am about to just began IP blocking them from the entire SSDL server. And trust me, that kills a lot of ss related sites for them. Also there is certain mods who I am about to fire if they don't straighten their !@#$%^&* up... No warnings, you guys know better, and should know who you are. Case in point, Rootbear's thread I just finished cleaning up, 1 post in there, you'll notice who right away. I'm getting to the point that working 50+hrs a week, I just don't see just cause in this anymore like I use to. Use to I worked 40+hrs a week, and spent a lot of my free time between shows and friends working on these sites. Probably another 15+hrs a week. But really, if you guys just keep posting crap and flaming and fighting with each other rather then posting !@#$%^&* worth reading, I almost no longer see a point in having SSForum. Just my 2 cents.

Getting Priit to do anything has become a lost cause. Getting the source from priit, impossible. Getting Valve to do anything to help a game's community that doesn't profit them, or puts them at any chance... you have higher odds of walking on water. Honestly, Continuum has lost its nistolgia (sp?), and is having a midlife crisis of the worst kind. You know, those ladies who get new tatoos, wear young girls clothes, and try to act hip and cool ... yeah, that's us now. We try slapping on better graphics, and hyping ourselves up as something better than we are anymore.

^ Nope. Mine has done it before through many installs on many pcs for quite a few years now.
-
Updated. Funny enough, noone ever noticed Subchat and Starlight's links we're backwards.
-
Have it ignore it and allow it through. It is a special security measure Priit took to keep the exe secure and keep people from easily being able to hack/edit it. Can read more about Snrrrub's findings of it here: http://sharvil.nanavati.net/projects/subspace/unpex.html

Well, alot of us use to use our ds98 e-mails for a lot of stuff. So really if it was a subspace involved domain, but maybe not directly related, might work. Dunno.
-
Thread Cleaned. I see the !@#$%^&* again, and those involved will be taking a month break.
-
I might have some pics from our hiking around Snoqualmie Falls of me and her. Maybe will find em and post em later.

I got some people back when .40 came out spamming the forums m!@#$%^&* e-mail and forcing it to ignore people who opted out of it. Thing is, I don't even play anymore. Just come on to check these forums, see if anyone has been online in game I need, and yeah.

it is an error in Continuum loading the .dat files. Sometimes closing it and re-opening it right away fixes it. But it also sometimes will write over the existing files, and all is lost. Kind of an odd bug, never has been addressed really as it just is randomly caused, no commonly found situations even for those it happens to a lot.

Yeah. When I was younger, my family use to go up there atleast once a month during the summer. Even camped at Cougar Campgrounds a few times.

Joe the Plumber really isn't even a licensed plumber amongst other things they've found out (debt, arrests, etc.)... Poor McCain needs to find himself new advisors to help him stop picking the wrong people to support his calling. I'm almost feeling bad for the guy.

Figured i'd share too from my recent hiking trip. Girlfriend had never been to any mountains before, so figured I'd take her to one. Mt St Helens isn't being too active lately, so figured i'd take her to Mt Rainier. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/01.JPG hiked to Panorama Pt. (6800ft, ~1500 ft above the start). Camp Muir (little over 10,000ft) is last stop before climbing to peak (14411ft). Plan to hike to Camp Muir and then hopefully in next few years, climb to peak. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/02.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/03.JPG Bear rooting for berries http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/04.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/05.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/06.JPG One day want to be standing at this point http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/07.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/08.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/09.JPG The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice. http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/10.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/11.JPG http://polix.sscentral.com/ssf/12.JPG One last shot from a distance

Not trying to say much, but I'll link you to the 20+ other threads just like this for ideas if you'd like. And those are only a few if you take us losing almost ,000 posts out of general a few years back, and being around 100 others then.

Interesting... Always wanted to do that with some of the BF:Vietnam maps. But stuck on Battlefield: Bad Company right now, so maybe load up Vietnam later.

I'll delete any post I feel like.

Just got done uploading everything last night. Plugging SSC and SSDL into SSF's user db. Lots of talk in the admin forum, will post more about it later.
