tweaked http://www.ssgn.net/videos.php some. More tweaks and some styling to come to make it a bit more appealing. Will take that style and use it to make some information pages on ships, screen icons, etc. Will be looking to staff things up about that time. edit- 1:PoLiX> http://demo.jdownloads.com/index.php/downloads.html - going to change Files.SSGN.net to this 1:PoLiX> ipb has a plugin for Converge for Joomla 1:Quigybobo> joomla? 1:PoLiX> Converge = script to manage user database of IPB for use in other scripts 1:SD>Big> seems good, lots of info 1:Quigybobo> AHH Cool man 1:PoLiX> Joomla + a nice Downloads extension 1:Quigybobo> looks prety cool 1:PoLiX> will allow Forums login to be used without issue 1:PoLiX> Bajan's script, he fixed a few of the bugs in for us 1:PoLiX> but it is just so... buggy, uncustomizable, and meh 1:PoLiX> like, you can edit all the templates, but you can't combine stuff 1:PoLiX> will take some work to fit it into SSGN's style, but it has the right colors already 1:PoLiX> lol

The issue with 90% of VPS companies... they over fill servers. So before you buy ANYTHING, get a statement from them on how many virtual servers of each package they put on 1 server. Typically when their prices seem too good, it is also because they'll squeeze 20 customers on 1 server with intentions they won't use all their ram, or much of the cpu. Then some points you find it bogging down, running like crap, or having issues. It is overselling with VPS essentially. Knownhost, Wiredtree, Slicehost, Future Hosting, Liquid Web, ServInt, VPSLatch, Linode, & Softlayer are all good VPS hosts to look at. May not get "OMG" deals, but they all have many reliable good reviews.

If web, a VPS is perfectly fine. You're visiting a site on one right now.

I do slightly lie, as I plan to use CSS Splicing on the images. But that is 50-50 as it is backend, but will also be noticeable on the frontend in speed and image updates.
-
Did you notice any of them? Nope? Good. Most of the recent updates to the site have been backend. All the CSS code has been redone, and besides one final future change coming to the videos page, is now complete. This will make it a lot easier for when I begin hiring more staff members to add and update pages. Styling is a lot more self explanatory. I also changed from Lightbox to Fancybox for the images (and soon videos). It uses only 2 javascript files (1 local, 1 called from google), and they are both packed making them almost 80kb smaller than Lightbox and its dependencies. More changes will be coming, and this time will be on the frontend. Those changes you will notice, and I will keep you updated on what is coming. As always, remember this news page is open posting, and anyone can post a news story.

But I'm a democrat leaning independent? I do however work for the government, and am going through lots more hell thanks to this with briefings, training, more limitations (hell, had to go through 2hrs of training just to goto Canada... CANADA). Swift, Freakmonger, and Aileron are in the military, and no doubt going through more fun briefings and training than I even get to. SO MUCH FUN So it is more of a division of who this is affecting, and who it is not. Especially seeing as Left and Right on capitol hill have many people against this.

Rather than just coming out and saying it, LC is eluding to another client being worked on. Unless we find a way to move on without Priit, this game will die. It might die even if we get away from his control, but might as well try something new.

Source? Probably quoting myself. MG isn't an issue in the case. The case he is dealing with is putting a bunch of empty zones that the sysops don't care to deal with anymore and were thinking of shutting down in his zone, and broadcasting them all as seperate zones. If the owners wanna just shut them down, but are fine with them as sub arenas, then they just should be that, sub arenas. If it was 2 zones working together on 1 server and wanted to broadcast both, that is a different story. But these guys have even said they dunno why their zones are still up even.

Metal Gear actually died thanks to implementations that had begun moving towards an HS style zone. So HSCore would just keep it dead. Once we shrunk to a smaller map and got rid of the bot, the pop began coming back. When you have a small population, the game becomes boring when there is so much map to run and hide on, and nothing had been done to fix this. It also turns 1 sided or takes forever to get to the other end, and many just stop playing after a few mins. But the final Nail was a certain player promising league, getting promotions to run it, then once he got such promtions suddenly didn't have time and didn't really have anything to hand over. Turned out to be all talk, and the players felt betrayed another time and gave up. Penny then gave them hope a final time, a few came back, but just wasn't enough to keep things lively and support leagues. Those issues, and many of the players hated Testtube. So without him it might work, but they have been let down so many times, dunno how many would come back.

Dat the Seahawks! This was the team we had before the injuries. We started 5-2 for a reason, and now we showed you why. GG Eagles are my 2nd favorite team, but I'd rather play the Bears than the Dirty Birds. Hopefully Green Bay makes that happen. Also, GO Jets!

Last I checked, score resets were done by a program outside of the biller itself. It is automated. Kind like names are reset by a seperate program.

If you consider almost 8.5yrs old "new" Why should it have a trench sub forum? They have their own. They were subforums of these forums when it was on Gamespec ions ago.
-
Was planning to add it once I am done with the revamp of the site. Recoding it on my local server from scratch. I mostly just threw it together to get something up and working to show progress in the beginning. Now it is time to fix the bugs, make it more efficent, and take advantage of more new CSS features that have become cross browser standards. Should be up by mid month, saying I don't end up working a bunch of overtime again (which has been "threatened"). In that case, I'll just figure out where to fit the link in the current categories.

Do you ever actually read topics, or just the last reply?

Added to SSGN frontpage "Getting Started" section along with tech support chat.
-
Sounds worth it. But might be better to do another chat noone is yet on. Seems both SubSpace and Events have people on them.

Very nice find. I'd go for it.

No. Freakmonger took over SSCC's server bills and all quite a while ago. 2yrs? maybe bit longer. So he ran SSCC for quite some time. All the zones on it were empty for quite some time, with DS & MG having the only real recent pop bursts but that died off pretty quick sadly. Desert Storm was pretty much dead when it shutdown. It had made a short comeback, but died due to most all the staff not having the time to devote to it. Really it was just a short burst of population, didn't hold for long. On top of that, they announced the closure of DS 10days before SSCC shutdown, so that wasn't the full blame.

Sadly doing some research, sounds like Continuum isn't the only game having issues with this. Almost any older game is having the problem, even a few more recent releases (07-08ish). Most people have just set it to only used the nvidia gpu for all games when playing it, and have reported the same issues with the intel gpu that low end games run like crap on it. I'll keep lookin around, but it sounds like that might be your best bet for the time being. But don't feel too bad, some people are reporting Optimus constantly crashes their computers when they goto play games. Atleast yours is working

I guess the upside to it (now over the initial blahness of it) is the republican committee didn't win. They wanted to cut our pay by 10%. Compromise was freeze + for every 3 positions that open up (retires, promotions, etc.) they only hire 2 people to fill the 3. 10% pay cut would of had a lot of our guys packing up and going to Boeing or Lockheed.

http://www.myfederalretirement.com/public/791.cfm We bust our asses, have gotten numerous projects done ahead of time and under budget, and this is how they reward us. So fucking lame :\
