I think that has become our biggest problem though. The Red State, Blue State, Democrats are all Liberals, Republicans are all Conservatives, bs has really split everything and caused a mess of politics. The bible belt has ALWAYS been more conservative, but until northern businessmen came to Texas, it was a conservative democrat state, as was a lot of the south. Granted that had a lot to do with the Civil War and the north being under a Republican President, but that is another long mess. There was a lot of conservative democrats in the south. And in the north, you had liberal republicans who believed in civil rights, and that government should stay small and leave them be. I guess that is why I have always been stuck in the middle when it comes to Politics. Cause since I was the age to begin understanding everything, the seperation of the parties went from the basic Democratic and Republican idealogy, to everyone in 1 party or the other had to have 1 thought process. Who knows how crazy our politics will get in the future, as so much more information and scrutiny is right at our fingertips.

Ignore them, usage isn't the key factor There is one zone listed as SSCI which isn't on SSC (though got approved now, just waiting on IP to be added to firewall). But if you had a prompt before entering that the zone wasn't connected to the central network this would be the 1st clue. Though you will notice hundreds of names reseting over the next year or 2, as most names actively used for a few years after the pop booms are hitting the point where their data meets the reset standards. Amongst the occasional hiccups where the reseter program goes nuts, kills a few extra names, and then crashes the biller for a couple days. But that has only happened once in the past year or so.

I hate Sarah Palin, but I like the idea behind the Tea Party. Being an independent I've always kind of seen the best and worst of both sides, but right now the republican party is a far cry from the values it preeches (sp?). In only 2yrs have we already forgotten who dug us into this mess? I read an interesting article the other day by a guy that normally drives me nuts with his talking bad of the democrats and independents, and blah blah blah. But he actually said for once he felt he was no longer behind the values the Republican Party now protrayed, and hit a lot of it head on. Mostly being he is still a republican by heart, but I feel he pointed out the flaws that the party who has dwelled more on big business has created in itself. I mean, it forced a new part of its own party to be created that wants to fix the problems it began. They are suppose to be for the little guy, but they support breaks for the top 1% of this country, and for the larger corporations which hurts the small businesses they so "support". Not saying all the democrats are anything better though, really I think most politicians are corrupt. It is just finding the least corrupt and most down to earth ones.

Can be more than that even, heh. We just had one put in that cost 1.9million once finished. Though chump change for the government. Got 3 more coming in that will be totaling near 2.5million once done and installed. But that is pretty sweet.

Moved

the bots moved to a different arena and there was 31 of em loaded, but now they're magically gone. They are AI bots for events, but they have just been loaded and left for a while now. Maybe a few months. I know I mentioned something about it to Mom one night when ss pop was barely over 400, and eg was mostly just those bots. Think that was back in July? Or like the one time TW's bots were down and the pop was barely over 100. I mean there is a 50-50 cause of so many automated sub arenas people couldn't play so they didn't get on, but really. I'd say its safe to say atleast 1/4 of SS's pop at any given time now is bots.

So as I've watched the pop dwindle over the past few months, I have noticed a trend. More and more bots in zones filling the "void". EG for instance in public arenas right now has 45+ bots. 25 or so in just 1 arena. Usually they just had 27 in their meteor arena, plus a few others. The zone pop being at 140 that means in reality there is only 90ish players. 60 or so being accountable, that leaves 30 or so in privs + bots in privs. Granted it isn't only EG. But just the one I have noticed doing it a lot lately with having so many bots in 1 arena that I have never seen hosted any of the various times I am in there. Have we really come to this?

mm. Well, with the new script we're using for SSGN files (was actually coded for SSDL, but when bajan left, he continued it publicly, and is now helping fix some of the minor bugs left in it for us) we can track downloads a lot better now, and see reliably if it is a player, bot, etc. Shows IP/Browser Info/Etc. of every download a lot more reliably and easier to read than a lot of other ways we have been trying to track them. So should help decipher if we're getting an influx or players, or just bots scanning the site/downloads again. Reminds me, need to finish moving DCME over to it.

On Another note. I've gone through quite a few downloads websites where Continuum is listed over the past few months. Total Downloads that are visible just cleared 750,000. Continuum 0.40 came out 3yrs ago. So the big question... where are all these players? How many ran into installer issues? How many saw virus warnings and gave up? How many are playing, but just not as many hours as people use to? I do run into a lot of new players. So it seems maybe we're just not keeping them as long as we use to, or playing as actively as they use to. I found this very interesting. Especially sites where the download was added pretty recently as it is the 7mbish installer I released. 1 I just looked at had almost 22,000 downloads of just that.

Scores Website... Me and Ghost Ship have been fighting for this for years. One point priit went as far to send the Biller DB Schema to begin work on the site. 16 months later, he finally said he'd be down to get it going, probably would do it the weekend he sent the e-mail. Been 3 months since that? It isn't for lack of effort. Mackie was trying before me. It is just lack of Priit dedicating his time.

Squad Names do reset when a name resets. Unless a squad has members, then it goes onto *UNKNOWN*. Priit has reset the squads on *UNKNOWN* before. There is a seperate program that runs on the billing server's server that handles name reseting. It actually crashed back in Feb/March (forget when that downtime was) and took the biller down, and reset some names by accident (boy that was fun clean up of squads that went to *UNKNOWN*, etc.). I remember for years squads had special characters in them all the time. Lots of major old squads in TW and EG had all sorts of chars. Same with usernames for quite some time. So honestly don't get the issue with this.

My condolences (sp?) to you robert. I am so sorry for your loss man. ----------------------------------- It is a long story as to what happened and I've typed out the whole thing twice now and deleted it. I think this is short enough. He tried commiting suicide. He tried doing it in a way he hoped he'd be long gone by the time anyone found him. His roommates busted his door down after finding it locked and seeing him on the ground through his window. They 1st told us it was a coma and self-inflicted wounds. We later found the wounds had nothing to do with it. He had overdosed himself on insulin, and dropped his blood sugar to 0. This starved his brain of sugar, which is like starving it of oxygen. 90% of his brain died, only the cerebellum was still somewhat alive. So of course he retained his breathing, heart, etc. Though he couldn't really breathe on his own. His parents made the hard decision of pulling life support, as they knew he wouldn't want to live as a vegetable. A lot of his family got to see him before he passed last night. Sadly I was trying my ass off to get his youngest sister home. She is visiting a friend in Texas, and their parents bought her ticket home, but they are illegals and didn't have enough money to get one soon. So I am working with the airlines (who have been amazing with information, even though sadly they went through a travel agency to get the price, and they can't do much, but giving me all the info I need), and waiting on a stupid travel support center who opens at 8am PST, but it is 930am PST and I keep getting a recording. It has been a hard few days as I am sure you could imagine. Lots of questions, lots of feeling of helplessness, and lots of crying. But my wife is... doing better? She cried less last night when she found out than she has in a while. Though I think for most of us, it was partially being glad his suffering was finally over. We watched a few funny videos, and a friend of hers came over at 1am and they looked at our wedding photos and talked, she also knew him. He didn't want a Funeral, a Memorial, or a Grave... So we fealt laughing was a good way to be. But I'm gonna get back to dealing with the sister's ticket. I'm going back to work Monday, but may not be active here for a bit longer. Want to spend every minute together with her for a while for obvious reasons. Bye for now.

I can't type about it without choking up, so not even going to try. But something very bad happened today, and yeah. Realize how many people love and care about you, and no matter how worthless life seems like living, you'll hurt more people you truly still care about than you could ever imagine. Never have too much pride to ask for help, and to seek help. It isn't worth the pain and suffering you'll put the people you love and care about, and all those who know you through.

Before widening it to show the centering of it, it had about 40 pixels to each side to fix in a 1024x768 browser. Well, nothing between the latest and the original changed. So dunno what to tell you there. The only thing I did between that one and this one was rename some images, as the layout was completely the same. So sounds more like your browser changed, or some setting changed on your browser to cause it as I can't recall anyone else complaining of this issue. Actually can't even recall yourself complaining of the issue. ------------------------ I thought about removing the ? but most people thought it looked fine. I had the logo and search box aligned to the sides, but it made everything seem really out of place. Hard to describe, but the menu really just didn't stand out/looked like it was meant to be aligned to one side or the other, but someone didn't do it right. The logo was meant to look kind of cheesy. I wanted something that would actually stand out. I went through quite a few versions, and for some reason that font and color just stood out with the lanc. The only change request I got from people in game was to have the option to turn off certain menu items if it is to replace the general nav bar. Which many thought it should. So may implement that feature. Also since Priit got our hopes up on the scores site, yet again, and then has not done anything since again, would remove that one for now.

So you did stupid shit as a kid, and can't just live and move on. If you'd talk to people, you might realize this is more than common. It is widely known that children learn sexual gratification and exploit it unmeaningfully. Friend of my wife's daughter would play with herself when she was 2 years old, and continued for a while. Buddy of mine joked he would stick his dick in a vacuum hose whenever his mom wasn't looking. When we we're like 3 and 4, my cousin and I would get naked and touch each other, and she even had me stick stuff inside of her. It is common. It has nothing to do with being male or female. And it does not mean you are fucked up in the head in any way shape or form. The fact you can't move on and forget, and think it is something so wrong is your problem. It is in our nature to do anything gratifying, no matter how wrong. You're 19. You're out of high school. Fuck cliches, fuck everything, make something of yourself. Be yourself, cause trust me, there are hundreds of people just like you. I can think of quite a few people I know who fit your same persona of depression. Rather than admitting they are depressed and trying to get help, they cover it up and blame it on other issues, and then deny being depressed and grasp onto minor things that make them happy and make them seem huge. That or they take something that makes them seem semi-happy, and make it sound like it is the best thing ever. And maybe to them it might be, because they feel so down otherwise. I had someone close to me become so depressive he had posted online he didn't want to live anymore. But you couldn't tell it by looking at him. Because he just sucked it up. But he blamed his depression on stupid things, and just hid himself away and didn't get help. Well, finally his family made him seek help, and he did. And he became a lot better person for it. He got married, has a kid, a good job, a new house, graduated from college, everything. I am excited for him, though I don't think he'd ever realize it. Take a few mins of your damn time, and talk to someone. You don't always need drugs. Just someone to talk to, and someone who might actually give you a different view of things. Or maybe help point you in the right direction. A shrink is the best way to start, as they do it from a medical stand point. But they won't always prescribe drugs. Don't become like the 54yr old man I work with who hates his life, blames all his problems on something else, and can't realize his own attitude and actions are what have caused all of his problems. He has heart problems - he probably weighs 300 lbs; He has back problems - He sits on a hard stool all day, bent over a machine; He has breathing problems - he smokes probably a pack a day; And it goes on and on... Wife, Money, Health, everything. All he does is complain about it, and never goes and gets any help for any of it. And he always blames it on someone or something else. Never admits he is the one causing his problems by not doing anything. So rather than blaming all of your problems on stupid shit, go talk to someone and try to figure out the real root problem.
