There is quite a few key things that fall into it.

I'd assume Priit might have shut it down? Odd he didn't shutdown SWZ if he did it for any reasons I could think of though.

I sware he once said for security reasons it was using it, so then noone could break it open and find the encryption.

WD had a few years where they put out some really shitty products. Sadly they've had this happen twice now. I dunno if it is when they feel their profit margin is sinking, they try to make it back up with cheaper parts, or what. But the past year or so I have read less complaints about some of their new USB 3.0 externals.

Then it shouldn't have SubSpace in the title

anyone tried starlight lately? Would tell if it is offline, or just only allowing Starlight to access it.

Javaspace sounds good enough.

Updates Client Doesn't Show - Uninstall Antivirus?!
PoLiX replied to jemofthewest's topic in Technical Support
It is because of the way the client is packed for security. Antivirus software, some Spyware software, etc. assumes it is a virus or malware. Not all does as we have done work to submit continuum to them, but if yours is out of date or 1 we haven't contacted then it can cause issues. Very few people run into this issue anymore, so I'd assume that is the cause in your case.- 3 replies

Well, here is something funny. Upgraded the firewall, and poof... http://www.sshyperspace.net/ is now working too. But never showed any denies in IP Tables log, Firewall log, etc. Must have been a bug in that version of the software. Honestly the biggest reason I hate software firewalls. Edit: and now http://directoryservers.sshq.net/ shows it as up. hah.

Just weird some people can connect. Restarted the vps, as firewall looked normal. Zones have been / are connecting to it fine without being blocked. Now your site shows it up, but http://directoryservers.sshq.net/ still shows it down. Not sure what is up there. As for the sites... I was watching SubSpace.net, but just felt it'd be wrong to redo something that had been done/died off. Use to be tons of SS related websites... now there is just 1 actively updated (though not much as of late).

Was working fine for me yesterday and this morning, but I restarted it just to see. Again shows it running, I can download from it just fine, and so can a few other people I asked. Odd... As for the domains... Sadly doubt anyone will do anything major with them. Seems people would rather just work on their zone's website anymore.

Side Note: Your stats has been reporting the SSCentral directory server down for 2 days+ yet it is up?

MikeTheNose & Hoch saw it initially, and Spacehiker could see it now if he wanted. He was also sent the exploits list.

There is actually a type of ban that can be set network wide by a lvl0 bang op that is RARELY ever set that will catch pretty much anyone. There is no bypassing the ban with the normal methods, so it takes some good effort and knowledge to get around. I can't tell much more about the ban, nor will post the evidence outside of the bang website as it shows many of the exploits of the biller, & TW websites. As to why this is posted here, dunno. Guess tetris- was hiding in HS under the name NN.

And the list of about 10 website exploits he just sent to the TW sysops/dev, and Spacehiker and Myself.

Bypassing his multiple net-bans for stealing names and squads. Used a bot to log owners of all squads in a dictionary of words. Then using that list, targeted compromised names from the TW site hackings. Recently attempted (though got a few names ie: Pure_Luck , wasn't fully successful) to exploit the tw forums. He won't be coming back this time. Had to set a type of ban I honestly don't think has ever been set netwide before.

Yeah. I reported it last night. Few people on the server were eating up more than their fair share of ram. Seems it has been fixed now though.
