Requiem had a leviathan in their line-up and got to use it in the aforementioned lobby fight. They won. Unhallowed and Alpha Requiem both actually showed 4 (holy substitution, Batman, Unhallowed showed at least 6). AR also lead the game at 1-0 and 2-1, then Unhallowed took the lead and kept it. Kingnewbie did what he does best and died twice in 6:34, plus picked up a TK (you jerk, you). I don't have much to say about this game in an analytical sense since it just looked like both teams threw in four players. Then things happened. Perhaps the biggest result of this round is ReDS defeating Assassins. ReDS got a 1-0 lead thanks to penguin being himself. Assassins took the lead, which remained at 2 kills most of the time. Until inevitably penguing dies out at 7-6 for Asses at 39:33. ReDS get a kill to get it tied just 40ish seconds after this, then a kill to be up by one about 2 minutes later. Unsure if Mop's last death is due to a last ditch effort to get it tied or just a death, but yeah.. ReDS win. Sterling vs. Nuke was either tied or 1 kill either way all game. 14 minutes for the first kill, and 1:10 into the OT for the last. Apparantly a repkill by Rage, who also had 8 FR. Nuke wasted 4 repels, Sterling wasted one. Seriel Killer defeated Gods 12-0. The big jerk Ra was there too. Schedule for Round 14: 3pm: Alpha Reunions vs. Nuke -- 116005 FTNGuyen vs. Gods -- 116006 Shocktech. Nope, Chuck ReDSta? vs. StarFire Elite -- 116007 4pm: Assassins vs. Sterling -- 116008 Llamas vs. Rebels -- 116009 Requiem vs. Unhallowed -- 116010

I don't have to look for reasons to point out how lunatic Rage is. He does a good job at just throwing them at me. Both Rage and Dagger manage to explain the situation in at least two different ways. Everyone else in the arena seems to have seen this happen before. Rage just doesn't understand that it even CAN happen. Yay. Dagger> you are making yourself look stupid Rage> in what way? Ra> why would the guy lie in a game like this Rage> you got a full ship twice FYI; You're supposed to have 2 full ships if you die once =)

Llamas have gotten 1 death worse.. ReDS are 5 kills better than Shocktech. Sterling is much stronger than a BYE Round. Assassins and Unhallowed have remained exactly the same. Requiem has gotten 4 less deaths better. Gods have gotten totally excellent, and now defeat Alpha Reunion. Well, anyways. Psyanide carried llamas, at least on the stat page. Also, 0 wr for Llamas over 5 deaths. Nice. FTNguyen vs. ReDS was a rather sad game. Ahmed tried his best to get to 72 virgins (only got to 5, ho ho ho, c wut i did?), but ReDS just... weren't there. They can play a much better game. They just somehow fell apart. Alpha Reunion showed up! Hooray. Then they lost to Gods in a game no one saw. 9-Volt breaks the pattern of only people included in the game talking (!items), but we got this Nude For Sa> i think i got a kill, subspace history Unhallowed and Assassins seem to have been going for some sort of a record in killing as many people as possible in one spot. Check the kill chart, slightly above the triangle. Nuke's roster is more rebellious than that of Rebels, spectating their game to "not play for this idiot" (meaning Dre). Nuke didn't have much going even before Dre died out though. Oh, Nacre lagged out before that too. Apparently Dagger stumbled onto the weird bug? glitch? lag related? issue where you register a death on the bot, but somehow at least a few packets here and there go missing, resulting in you either 1) respawning in the same spot with toys but no energy 2) without toys in a warped spot 3) without toys and energy in the same spot. Well, Sterling weren't total dickwads and kill him before Ra subbed him. Probably a blow to squad morale, but game on. Everyone but Rage seems to understand it. Oh well, after that incident Rebels went on an exploding spree and Sterling picked up the win in under 20 minutes. Schedule for Round 14, on bots and site: 3pm: Assassins vs. ReDS -- 115777 Nuke vs. Sterling -- 115778 Rebels vs. Gods -- 115779 4pm: Alpha Reunion vs. Unhallowed -- 115780 FTNguyen vs. StarFire Elite -- 115781 Llamas vs. Requiem -- 115782 If you hadn't figured the logic out yet.. I take the previous round the squads played and work my magic on whether the games are 3pm or 4pm. Ta-da. Now you can predict your schedule 9 weeks in advance.

Sterling beat Gods, who still fly all sorts of funny ships. Nuke beat SFE 12-1 Llamas ReDS was the highlight of the round. A close game with a team kill in the overtime finish. Good stuff. I do believe ReDS either had their fullsub used on a deathsub, or had the sub lagging out after subbing in... or both. Unhallowed were nowhere to be found until match time. Valiant effort, but no. Pog was 0-2 fast, managed to hold on for long enough to ReDS work their magic and get the win. Well, he was still first out, but don't tell anyone. Assassins had a decent line-up in to start vs. Nuke, but traxx managed to lag out and was replaced by mr. penisguin. He then pretended to be a bee, but floated around nothing like a butterfly and his stings weren't bee-like either. First out, 1-3, ggwpnoreyoloswag. Sterling 12-3'd SFE, maimer was not rewarded with any kills while forcing 8 repels. Unhallowed continues on their quest to be the most randomly performing squad. They lost to Rebels 12-4 and it doesn't even look like it was much of a fight. Rebels all have a trillion forced repels and 4 wasted total. Llamas kind of messed up somewhere along the way, giving Nguyens a four kill lead by 6:48, with one player on their last life. By 13:35 this player is out, and the score 7-1. Apparently we even had hibachi "play". Requiem probably ran away and lobbed vs. the two players that showed up for Alpha Reunion. We had some squad practices before the game between the squads, so I think most people were kind of done with the match-up before the official practice was played. People were roflcoptering at deaths, even when the score is sort of close. There weren't that many WR in total, but people sort of exploded rather easily. Legacy racked up 9FR and 84k damage taken. At some point in time 7th was at 2k taken, Legacy at 12k. Assassins finished Rebels in under 30 minutes. esidebob wasted 3 repels and was out after just 11:45. Rebels recently had two baddies jump ship to other squad(s) too. They have some work to do if they want to finish in the upper half of league, and thus the pro playoffs. Alpha Reunion showed 3 players to their game vs. Llamas, which usually doesn't help much. There were some stats. ReDS were actually holding their own vs. Sterling at least up to 2-2 at 16:20. Sterling got a few kills here and there, unanswered. At 37:18 and 6-2 ReDS had two people on their last lives, Pempu and Pog. ReDS then entered desparation mode, managing a few kills vs. the toyless? Sterling. The first out is actually only at 7-5 -> 8-5 at 43 minutes. A few more kills for Sterling and Pempu running the clock sealed the game. SFE also started ok vs. Requiem. 2-2 at 13:13 isn't too bad. Then smurf went on a rampage picking up 2/1 with 4AS 7 FR. Candy whored up the kills. And finally, Unhallowed showed 3 vs. Gods, who then beat them "12"-2. But all the games were bad and mostly uninteresting That late recap.. Requiem vs. Assassins was a slow paced game, like most of Requiem's games seem to be. Assassins made more errors and exploded more frequently. Three statwhored his way to 5-1 and 4 FR. 8-6 Requiem. Llamas picked up a 12-2 win vs. Gods' leviathans. Yes. They had at least two in at one time. Weezie was a leviathan for all three lives. Every other god ship changed at least once during the game. ReDS beat Alpha Reunion 12-2. The stats or log don't give much insight as to what happened besides THC probably playing way over aggressive (first out, 5 fr) and Hendrix's bot skills Hendrix> !setlagout greg FTNguyen vs. Sterling was also painfully slow. Freebies were once again granted, kind of both ways. We tried to go for the traditional 0-2 lead for the enemy, but ended up overdoing it for 1-4. Got it back to 4-4 between 22:13 and 23:40. By 32:29 and 6-6 FTNguyen would have 3 people at 2 deaths, TVB with none. Sterling at this time had two people at 2, two at 1. Eventually the game goes to overtime at a 7-7 score and TVB on a toyed up ship. I reckon we had the advantage on toys besides just TVB. Unhallowed beat SFE in a rather regular looking 12-5 fashion. Nadai onyly bothered to repel twice. SFE on the other hand only wasted 2 repels total. Rebels didn't seem to put up much of a fight vs. Nuke's stack of baddies. 12-2 in a game where Dagger was dead twice in under 6 minutes isn't exactly the most convinving loss. Even my good friend Seriel Killer failer to serially kill people. In fact he failed to land a single bullet Round 10 Schedule: 3pm Gods vs. Unhallowed -- 114581 Sterling vs. ReDS -- 114582 Requiem vs. StarFire Elite -- 114583 4pm Alpha Reunion vs. Llamas -- 114584 Assassins vs. Rebels -- 114585 FTNguyen vs. Nuke -- 114586

Movement is currently free, but has to go through me. Mostly to prevent aliasing, since people liked to reset their stats and it messes up pilot rankings etc. Will be locked after R11 but before R12, which is half way through the long ass regular we have going on. So basically what 7th said, sans the badness.

No Digsy. I'm "meh" on stuff like match results etc. unless something frustrating like a proper rep ignore makes my ship explode. Or doesn't repel someone into bombs. But while I'm not even in the game, the result won't really move me. Then again, I'm not very easily excited at least in a positive sense. As for a smooth league experience, I'm all "yay". This does translate, in some effect, to practices. We've always had issues with practices, one way or the other. People easily feel wronged if they watch someone "good" suicide out practice after practice and remain to be picked. Besides whatever major issue in the practice settings we have going on, stuff like this always matters in regards to the player base. At least I think it does. I'm not exactly sure as to why we currently have 12 squads, up from 6 a while ago. I'd expect it to go down as much if one or two squads fold and league feels like a set of sure-wins and sure-losses for the mid-tier squads, which most of these new squads are, or help produce. But fact is, this is the current situation, with the current squad arena settings. Disabling the squad mode (!forcecap) is easy enough, we can try this for a week or two or something to see what would happen. Messing with lag outs isn't quite as simple (since it's a bot change) and fiddling with the ruling on that might result in some unwarranted bans if we choose to enforce it as well. I try to oversee as little as possible. Kind of the way it's meant to be imo. Plus I can't really be lecturing people on how to be nice to newbies either, or how to treat them as a valuable part of the practice arenas. That would be awfully hypocritical. While I might play with them, I certainly won't pick people around myself based on "this guy hasn't played for a while, I will give him a shot!". P.S. I like the fact that you can at least form an opinion based on something logical #skypecirclejerk #raisajerk

Correct solution, convince 8 people from spec to get a new arena rather than wait in line for a shot vs. the guys who have been monopolizing an arena =( Forcecap wasn't always there.... lead to arena skipping and captains stuck on players, who have just claimed it and seen the opposing freq go for a rematch with random people in a new arena, going afk. Was very poopy. "Requiring someone to fix their connection" is just what I mean by nazi utopia. How in the hell would anyone judge this consistently? You would have to know what the normal connection for each player is before you could even hazard a guess as to whether or not they could do better, and as such just might be downloading something. We have plenty of lagged people, or people who have been downloading since 98 arond. And true, while some (like elmo) might suggest that Sika has a worse connection than some other Finns.... I don't think we can really force people to try a different ISP or physically move to a new place, in hopes of being allowed in a space ship. (I changed ISPs for SS reasons, though. Was fun. Now I can play and browse the intertubes regardless of hopone.net's NY routers) Plus you would, after making 90% of the zone staff, end up with staff members regulating each other. Anything less than 90% or so, and the people just would not be around to do anything. It's all much more peaceful if the robot without much of a personality makes these calls. People just have to adhere to them... which they don't =( I actually failed in this myself the other day. I was the captain of a glorious prac team and failed to boot a lagger after a win. So he lagged the following prac too, making it a 4v3 for us.

One bloke banned. US Air Force maintenance style, yo. But seriously, a few more details might be necessary to find these evil-doers™. The rules are roughly stated here http://www.subspace.co/topic/25546-4v4-rules/ Using more than one slot (unless via a !sub / !return error) is covered what, four times? And yes, Odin, you see... a lot of people have seen much worse. But they don't necessarily tell anyone much anything about it, or want anything done. Like in this case, most people cry FREE RAGE. Requiem's players decided they want to point out Rage's aliased sub in. Three mentions it in the log and Ozn actually messaged me with the whole situation. They try hard and report something that fucks up their squad prac. You have to respect that. Especially since for the first time in history they managed to not start illegally SCing as a protest to Rage bending the rules. BTW Candy I'm still waiting for your recap
-
To date, we've had 2 bans relating to doing dumb things in 4v4. You can probably figure out what they are. Chaos is a chill zone in general, pub has a bot with *shutup etc. "minor bans". 4v4 doesn't have that luxury. And it's not a case of making an example of anyone. It's simply someone reporting to me that someone else cheated. I have to go by the community voice on these things or it'll become a chaos pub scenario from a few years back where nothing was cheating, unless witnessed by a mod. And even then they'd judge it wrong. I'd rather nothing like this happens constantly because people don't want to get banned. We could develop plenty of solutions that solve nothing. If anything, your captains should tell Rage to stop getting banned. The rules aren't really that hard to live with. TLDR; Yes, we should avoid banning people. P.S. Yeah... wasn't hz one of those places where disagreeing with Arnk Dylie might get you banned, even if you used proper sentences without any obscenities? Although the HZ trolls far surpass 4v4 trolls. And the zone was easier to troll too. Do you get any benefit from managing a 20 year old game? No
-
I see. In that case I see nothing wrong with Candyman trying to simulate events that transpire during a match (using one full sub - completely legal in a match). What Rage was just banned for isn't allowed in a match. I also think all lag outs should be burnt in a practice (just like a match). The idea being that there aren't enough staff members to police whether or not a player intentionally lagged themselves out to either not die or lose items. Max lag outs in practices should be set to 3 (looks at Macuto and shakes his head), just like a match. Time limit being 30 minutes instead of 45 I understand. It seems counterintuitive to have practice rules differ from match rules when the entire purpose of practicing is to prepare for a match.... but hey, that's me. Cheers. Lag out limit at 3 was previously set. People would just get a new alias. Thus it was removed. And prac rules just... are different. And you should not "emulate" fullsubs, just like no one "emulates" a match lag out. And Legacy is gone for three days for subbing in for the opposing team and suiciding out. http://www.svssubspace.com/?page=Game&id=113835&season=0 Not to try and prevent something that is blatantly unfair from happening because a player might try to get around it really should not be a practice that is followed. True enough. But the other part in that rule revolves around the times when there aren't people to sub the laggers. Most of the time people have the common decency to sit games out if they are constantly lagging to spec. Not only does it suck for the opponents, but it essentially makes their team play 3v4 since you can't count on a lagger. But yeah. When the limit was 3 and 8 people were on.. things got silly. All in all, those are all Underlord's calls. But I'm pretty much fine with them, seeing as how the other options are very strict and not based on the league being what people make of it, but a nazi utopia. Plus they all require a staff of a gazillion to enforce each others' lag outs.
-
You can write one of your own, don't sweat it. What the fuck am I, a paid professional journalist league operator with totally objective view on things? Much like human beings, us bunnies see things through some weighed opinions. Like in this very post. You are implying Sika's lag is legit. Do you want me to find logs from a few seasons ago where you play vs. Sika? I don't think you're the one to cry bias anywhere with your double or triple standards on pretty much anything. Seriously. I'm waiting for your version of the story in which Requiem hunt down and kill FTNguyen players. Go for it. Also, Rage, sadly enough I feel pretty "meh" about everything SS related. I wish I had more emotional investment in it one way or the other. Good to see you people read these things though, ho ho.
-
I was not aware of this fact. Perhaps im playing subspace during sleepwalks? Feel free to provide logs of these "often" events. I've never logged anything or screenshot anything, but you've done this a number of times and have also pissed me off by SC'in when you were playing the whole game and were 0/0 LL because you were mad at team or opposing team for targeting someone and then proceeded to keep sc'ing to jav with full toys to run clock to ruin the arena. You've done this at least twice to me. Other people have done this too, so it isn't just you. Did this make you want to prac less or more? I can see it working both ways, but the "I want to kill this MONKEYFLIPPER until he is MONDAY TO FRIDAY dead" rage play more pattern probably isn't the best for us

Mostly they took advantage of various slow lobs by dodging them in uselessly stylish ways. Seriously, they were zigzagging between bombs at full energy for no apparent reason Apparently somewhere after 27:32 but before 34 something some of our players are a few bombs to keep them from hitting a low life player, which made BizzahBobby need a new pair of trousers. Requiem had a 2-0 lead, then the game was 3-3 for a while. Then magically between 34:52 and 37:42 Requiem had a 3 kill lead, while doing nothing but waiting for someone to run into their bombs and for Sika to lag some kills. Which he did later. The 5-3 and 6-3 kills were just a few bullets and a bomb and a few bullets and a thor for KN and krellin (it was his first day). Here's the finishing chapter KinGNewbiE kb Sika KinGNewbiE is OUT! - [44:37] Score: 8-5 Requiem -- [4v3] Sika kb The Village Bike -- Assist by: krellin Sika has 1 life remaining - [44:37] Score: 8-6 Requiem -- [4v4] Brave> ROFL krellin> kn no Jae> WOW SIKA BARBARIAN> dat zeroskill lag Brave> That should be bannable krellin> no Dre> kn hoping his team would do something sooner but could not Captor> sika huge mvp Jae> lol Street Figh> what lag? Caerbannog> Reqiuem isn't a joke at all. Jamuraan> lagshield on 7th> !items Yeah. Well played. Lul. Regardless of rather sloppy play, we only had 2 WR total which is good. Rebels vs. Alpha Reunion I heard no tasty rumors about, so I'll just take what the log has in it for a facT: BARBARIAN> no clue wtf happened mindrape> his butt plug popped out momentarily causing him to accidentally mash his keyboard Seems legit to me. In the end VT is 5-1 again with 6 FR while the other rebels try to keep up. StarFire Elite seems to have been shut down pretty efficiently by Assassins, the game ending 12-0 in 17:09. 16 FR for Sins.. still 9 WR on SFE. Sterling vs. Llamas was a rather odd game. Odin flew a leviathan, which quite didn't work out. A few freebies were apparently given out (secret Nguyen tactic), but it didn't work out either. A ton of people in the spec were talking about everything but the game, besides trying to guess the first person to die. Nuke also had to face the wrath of a leviathan vs. Gods. 10 WR on the side of Gods probably did not help them out too much. Apart from that, I didn't see the game and all I was told about it was that the blue bombs were exploding and pissing off Nuke, while Saiyan got Gods "pretty good". And Unhallowed picked up +12 from Shocktech. -------------------------------------------------------- Apart from the games, other interesting things this week... the oh-my-gosh so dramatic bans. Seriously. It isn't that hard to not be a total douchebag in pracs. Practices _still_ make up the majority of all SubSpace games, so enforcing rules just for the games that are the most controlled is stupid. Hence bans for pracs. I refuse to believe I'm the only one who remembers the fun times of people randomly starting to SC to end pracs faster or get back the toys they previously lost on lag outs, causing other people to SC, etc. Like, totally. It's not very hard to just let the bot handle most of these things. Yes. Get yourself a fresh ship if you "tablag" at the beginning of a prac and it burns you. Don't try to pull this mid-prac. Most of the douchebaggery just leads to people not wanting to play, since nothing will make sense anyways. Pracs have been in a rather good place recently, don't kill the buzz. While it might be super cool to totally rebel against... me? It kind of is a huge finger to whoever you're practicing with. I, on the other hand, don't give a rat's ass. Schedule for Round 9: 3pm: FTNguyen vs. Sterling -- 114613 Nuke vs. Rebels -- 114164 StarFire Elite vs. Unhallowed -- 114165 4pm: Assassins vs. Requiem -- 114166 Alpha Reunion vs. ReDS -- 114167 Llamas vs. Gods -- 113168

And Legacy is gone for three days for subbing in for the opposing team and suiciding out. http://www.svssubspace.com/?page=Game&id=113835&season=0 But you just banned people that are bypassing the rules to sub back in under different aliases, so that shouldn't be an issue. I would say people lagging out 10+ times and coming back each time with their item list is far more of an everyday problem. Furthermore, if people know that the penalty for subbing themselves after max lag outs is punishable by ban, they aren't going to do it unless they're just ignorant. Heck, just do the simple thing, punish the laggers by removing their items. At least that's a start in the right direction. Also, how is admitting that someone is cheating by doing "fullsubs" in practice not being punished? You witnessed it, as have others, more than likely many, many times. It shouldn't take a "log" to prove anything when you're witnessing it first hand. Or you could just decide to not ban either person since this happened in a practice and really didn't affect anyone or anything in the grand scheme of things. I even say that about Legacy, which is one of the people that I dislike the most. There are far greater problems in this zone/arena than people subbing in after they died (i.e. abuse of !forcecap). People subbing in after they've died out isn't segregating or deterring the population which has a direct impact on league's longevity. Of course it isn't, since they get banned for doing it. The few times it was very intentionally done to get some suiciding idiot back in under an alias in stead of a player who was still playing the game kinda sucked, though. Somehow the roster of Infinite comes to mind when thinking about that.

Since he figured out he'd just go ahead and sub himself. http://svssubspace.com/logs/4v4squad21303221102Freq%20100vsFreq%20200.html It's a bit late since that game was played a while ago. But still. And Requiem please, if you're going to report cheaters to me, stop using "fullsub" in pracs. Thanks.

". It hasn't gone un-noticed by the entire league that Nguyens have a strategically mapped out schedule that starts with weaker teams and gradually gets harder. Not only are you guys padding stats but you get to warm up throughout the season." Oh holy fucking tinfoil had lordy. I'll have to get back to the rest of the replies here later since I'm busy busting a gut laughing.
