  1. Yeah, that was a plus. Everyone loves Castle and Firefly.
  2. All of it.
  3. Epic Bump! My Wife and I just had our first. It's a baby boy named Nathan William. He was born on Tuedsay, November 9th.

    new hires

It is true that several of the moderation staff use aliases that don't show up in ?listmod. Anyway, I'm closing this topic. If you've got a problem with one of the junior mods, take it up with a smod, d1st0rt or me.
  5. You seem to imply that those virgins are wrong. Ever considered that they're looking for something else in a relationship? Wonder why the divorce rate is as high as it is?
  6. I disagree. It may be harder, but it's worth it to find that person. Lowering your bar until anyone will do isn't a good way to build a foundation that will last the rest of your life.
  7. I've always assumed that cheese is 12 or 13 years old, so I guess that still makes him immature.
  8. Don't they already?
  9. My thoughts are that Google is not a democracy, and it doesn't matter what you or I think.
  10. It already does that, you know.
  11. Stargate, a fair amount of star trek, and a lot of early electrical scientists. I've tried not to be obvious about where I pull things from, but naquadah and ZPM are clear exceptions.
  12. It's harder on a switched network unless you've compromised a gateway device, or are doing ARP poisoning on a switch (both of which have a high risk of getting caught). It's not impossible, but it's much easier to just do it on wi-fi.

    Zone logo

I liked it, but no one else seemed to care.
  14. Milking should be a bannable offense.

    Zone logo

Sure, that's fine with me, but the most officially logo is probably the Hyperspace text in-game (in the blade runner font).
  16. Wait... you complain that it's not as good as a Linux window manager, then recommend software to remove all its new Linux-like features? How does that make sense? I'm no MS fanboy (I used gentoo w/ KDE as my primary desktop for more than a year), but you have to give them credit when they've actually improved something.
  17. There is no debate. Windows XP has nothing going for it, except familiarity. And if that were the only thing keeping you on an OS, you'd still be using DOS or Win95 NOT XP. To reiterate, there is no debate.
  18. 0 - you apparently can't figure out how this thread works. Oh, and join date is the definition of how long you've been here...

  20. Means the zone is running. You should be able to enter.
  21. I find it extremely difficult to get ASSS to compile on Windows (almost half of the Hyperspace modules do not compile on Windows). By comparison, setting it up on Linux is extremely simple. You edit system.mk for the paths of installed libraries (only done once per computer), run "make" and you're done. No programming required.
  22. You don't fix this issue by rebooting your computer, either. Who said anything about banfrees, btw? Try now. Looks like the machine id on the ban was messed up.
  23. Try now.
  24. Sorry, I was talking about a subspace-like game, where players fight each other in real time. Even the Discretion project doesn't address half of the security issues needed for cheat-free gaming. On the other hand, if you have no problem with cheaters destroying your game, then go for it!
  25. A browser based game will always fail because of the security issues. No one has addressed this, thinking that it can just be tacked on later. Sorry guys, it can't. If you've put time or money into it, LC, then I'm sorry for you.
