If that's true, then you won't get 100% on +10 with +0 max either.

    ^ this is wrong.
  3. Who are you, and why should we care?
  4. Old players are the worst people to consult about changes, if your goal is to have a popular zone (this is not Hyperspace's goal, but I don't consult with vets for entirely different reasons). * They've usually lost all touch with newbies, so have no idea what will attract new players. * They don't play as much as they used to, because they're older and more responsible IRL. * They tend to be very set in their ways. So I applaud trench for changing things despite its crotchety vets.
  5. LC, nothing can happen unless you click to run the program. This wasn't the case in Windows OSes made more than 10 years ago, but it's true now.
  6. Uh, it should be, unless you're overflowing. The truncation won't come into play for that example.
  7. Some people think you and D1st0rt are different people, for example.
  8. Sorry, I was under the mistaken impression that you were suggesting these items so they could be created. Carry on suggesting items that we'll never implement.
  9. If you haven't seen it on an item then it's not possible.
  10. That's no joke. Anyway, I'm closing this because it's not being productive, and the people talking the most are just embarrassing themselves.
  11. Build it and they will come.
  12. This is going nowhere fast.
  13. I know it's not quite the same, but how about projecting a low opacity image over the expected bomb impact site for t <= 1000ms? You could have the opacity increase the closer the bomb gets. You could also have it highlight bombs (e.g. a semi-transparent image of a 50px radius circle underneath the bomb) with a trajectory that will bring them close to your ship. Again, you can vary the transparency. Perhaps as a function of how likely it is to hit you. It's pretty easy to cull the list of bombs down to the few that have any possibility of hitting you, so even complicated functions wouldn't necessarily be a burden on the CPU.
  14. Presumably the intel GPU is very power efficient, and the Nvidia one is beefy. If that's true, then you'd get good game performance while still getting good battery life doing every day things like word processing.
  15. No.
  16. Yawn. Much too long.
  17. We (I?) felt that they didn't add much to the game, and made it that much harder for newbies. I still thought it was a good idea for the expensive items, so kept the scrap & salvage.
  18. A web page with screen shots of zones would be far more effective for that purpose. EDIT: I think that more zones are great, but restarting a zone that failed without any changes is doomed to fail again.
  19. Yes, if you use HSCore and put items in. Otherwise, why bother?
  20. Doors have lots of issues, which is why historically we've never used them in bases. Doors allow people to warp out of the base with flags even under antiwarp, which is annoying as heck for the attacking team. Crucial War Zone used doors exclusively as warpers, even. Doors can't be accurately controlled by the server at at a rate of more than one change per minute without consuming excessive bandwidth.
  21. Someone give Mav a medal. Great job!
  22. That's not true at all. A 20000 exp player only counts for 15k on a team, and a 100 exp player counts for a minimum of 1k.
  23. Yeah, you're totally wrong op2rules. The cards vary far more from model-to-model than company-to-company. Also, Nvidia has better Linux support than AMD/ATI, historically (I've heard that AMD has gotten better about it lately).
  24. In a word: this will never happen.
  25. I only have two monitors, after my third broke. I've been waiting for a killer deal on monitors so I can go back.
