  1. I didn't do search for a manual, but this briefly touches upon the subject for TI calculators: http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetId=103110 1/2π (1/2pi for the ASCII impaired) springs to mind for convenience. I don't agree with it, but I know why they did it. You're not ever going to find a paper talking about it, because the rules are so clear. Multiplication and division have the same precedence, and are evaluate from left to right. To take it to absurdity, just because there's no paper talking about addition in the southern hemisphere of the earth doesn't mean it's different there.
  2. I have no idea what you mean by mbj or ooo. In mathematics, implied multiplication doesn't have a higher precedence than explicit multiplication. Some calculators think it does, but they explicitly state in their manuals that it's done that way for convenience, and is not accurate.
  3. Well 6/2x is 6/2*x, not 6/(2*x), so your argument sort of falls apart there.
  4. DSB is not on the same server. I don't know about EG, though. Checking the IP in your zone list would give a good indication.
  5. I don't know what you're talking about. I can only assume you have not seen the entire episode.
  6. Yes it will; see Mythbusters for a conclusive discussion.

  8. Is this a serious question? or was it edited into insanity?
  9. The steady pop of 30+ is just for L1 BanG, and has nothing to do with zone access to the biller.
  10. This^ Moved to trash talk. If you keep replying to your own posts, I'll have to take more drastic actions.
  11. If you have a problem with mods, bring it to the smods. If you have a problem with the smods, bring it to d1st0rt or myself. Putting these topics on the forum just makes you look petulant.
  12. Read my last post again. I did account for that.
  13. Mod problems are not to be posted on the forum. They are to be discussed with smods, d1st0rt or myself, preferably in that order.
  14. Math time. 19+you playing in the arena, two 10 player teams. Best case scenario, everyone contributes exactly $100, and the winning team gets $200 in return. But if you bet $500 and everyone else bets $100, then you get $240. So you've spent 500% of everyone else, and gotten a 140% of the reward. Alternatively, if you bet $0, you get $190 in return. Why bet more? Why bet at all? So everyone has an incentive to bet less than everyone else. Only time you get decent odds are when you have 0 team mates. Sounds more like socialism than gambling.
  15. Ok, then why bet at all? There's nothing stopping you from giving $90k to your teammates as things currently are.
  16. I left.
  17. Notice the crucial conjunction. All of those names are distinctive, none are descriptive. EDIT: polix, you posted just before me. Polix, why does the name matter? Were you confused by what he was talking about? Are you less likely to play because of it?
  18. You just have to make sure you get one big enough to hold the OS and all of your non-game programs. Even a slow SSD is going to make a huge difference over a magnetic drive.
  19. Ah good, I guess I missed it.
  20. I just read through the list of components you finalized, and I think it's a mistake to pay that much and not include a SSD.
  21. I bought a computer for work about 3 months ago. I'd bought the same rig for home, 4 months before (minus some minor changes). It's the best performance computer I could assemble before the price starts to really skyrocket. The most important component is the Crucial SSD, and a motherboard that's fast enough to accept it. I also aimed for a quiet rig. I needed something I could pop the keys off of to switch to Dvorak. You probably don't have the same need. If you have money to burn, I suggest three of these: http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-Desk-Mount-LCD-45-241-026/dp/B00358RIRC. They will be my next purchase.
  22. A player is going to download and install it no matter what it's called. A player is going to enter a zone and play (usually Trench), no matter what it's called. That player will stick around if they like the game, and leave if they don't, no matter what it's called. Only then, once the player has decided to stay, will there be any confusion about the name. At that point, we've already won, and it doesn't matter what it's called. Sense a theme here? I do: It doesn't matter what it's called.
  23. FTP sends passwords unencrypted. Do you use FTP at all, Polix? If so, then that could be the source of the problem.
  24. Making items with more DPS than shredder or salvo is a Bad Idea. They can be extremely overpowered with the right build, regardless of fire cost. And if they're balanced properly, they will require more energy to fire then they inflict for damage.
