Lancasters can no longer use ?tw without killing any/all attached turrets, as far as I know. But yes, a Lancaster - or any ship for that matter - with two forms of FTL would be overpowered.

Reduce number of thors given by Siege pack to 1.

I think that's a good goal to have. Overwhelming item spam can get really boring and repe!@#$%^&*ive after a while. -
Easy fix: remove Energy Infusion from Leviathans. ZPM Leviathans have 3500 energy; with EI that is up to 7000 energy per life, with AD you are going to need to go against 14000 energy with level 4 PD bullets and rockets. Maybe a few Bursts and Thors too.

In practice most people seem to have problems spelling player names properly - especially some of the longer or more esoteric ones.

My personal experience is that, at least for Weasels, the difference of one Repel isn't really all that valuable in basing; however, having an extra Burst can be a real lifesaver as it not only effectively pushes enemies back, it kills most enemies within range. OTOH, one Repel merely nudges nearby enemies back for a second or two - not really that useful. -
Hardly 'little'. Boldot is quite correct; having Antideath in addition to Field Launcher would be insanely unbalanced. As for Turret Base, well, you'd only use that item to be a, well, turret base in the center area, where Antideath would be all but completely useless and a waste of money anyhow. Since it would be almost guaranteed instant death to enter any sort of base or confined region with Turret Base on your ship. Also, note that Summoner is not an Alien Technology item; Summoner is in the FTL Engines category, so you can have Summoner and an Alien Technology item; for example, most Lancasters today have Summoner and Antideath simultaneously. So I really don't see the need for 2 Alien Technology items per ship.

Even short-duration bans are only sometimes noticed.

They'll be fixed in the near future.

3. Bomb it with a Javelin, followed up by guns (any type). 4. Shredder rush it with a Warbird, Terrier, or Shark. 5. Melee it with Pulse Laser from a Warbird. 3. EMP it to freeze its recharge so it quits spamming, then throw in more EMP and guns. 4. Rush with Leviathan and PD. 5. Rush with Shark. 6. Rush and Brick Attack followed by Repels as necessary. 7. Wallbomb it with HE, MOAB, or TacNuke.

Actually, the primary use of Summoner these days is to allow people to PM you to attach without loss of energy (F7-attaching drains energy; being summoned doesn't). Only rarely is Summoner used to 'force' a team to attach, and when it is used in that fashion it is seldom effective - the ?summon'ed people generally don't return after dying, since they didn't voluntarily come when called in the first place.

True, the warping used to be random for each person who entered... wonder why it was changed.
-
Good point Masaru! I wonder when people are going to start complaining that the heavy bomber outbombs the other ships...
-
Um, the center warper (you know, that region with rotating boxes above the center safe?) is there for a reason... it's to help you get out of center in case it's being staked out by lamers of any kind...

your forgetting ultra rockets, lol That item is so l33t it doesn't really count, lol...

I think the joke predates the Internet...

You get killed inside the ID tunnel if you stay in the tunnel for too long. Basically it's to prevent people from hiding or waiting in the tunnel.

The problem with that idea is that priv freqs expand via invitations, so the less popular as well as newer players will be SOL in that case and left out in the cold.
-
LOL nolan I needed that, thanks. I think the staff would prefer to have the secret items, remain secret. They're not on the website, for example, for a reason. Just to note, though, Cobalt Warhead is hardly a secret item, as far as I know it just hasn't been added to the ?buy Alien Technology list yet. As for the others, well, I'll leave you with what Cerium said.

My laptop is pretty high performance, its performance specs are in excess of those of most desktops.

First, this is so old it's not even funny anymore, second, it's logically flawed anyhow since the statements the conclusion is derived from are not absolute truths as the 'thesis' seems to imply. "To find a girl, you need time and money" which isn't true. With time and money you could find a girl, but the converse is not necessarily true. "Time is money" can be true, but it's obviously not always true, since the time we spend on these forums, for example, is obviously not yielding us any money. "Money is the root of all evil," that's not true either, money can be a root of evil, but it's hardly the root of all evil. There are plenty of people who commit evil acts for motivations other than gaining money. So to conclude, the entire argument, while appearing to be robust at first glance (due largely to its basing itself off of commonly held 'conventional wisdoms'), actually falls apart like a house of straws when one takes a closer glance.

Especially the bulkier/heavier high-performance ones that are classified as "desktop replacements." The lighter/smaller/cuter ones tend to be somewhat lacking in performance.

I dunno Cerium, while it may make things for skilled players funner, I think that system might be a tad complicated given HS' level of complexity relative to other zones already. We want (I think?) to make HS easier to get into (so we can get more players), not harder...

I agree with Masaru's reasoning more or less. In addition, I wanted to stress that 'vet dominance' can still happen with Masaru's proposal, since privs will still be allowed. Who has ever heard of an "all-vet pub freq" anyway? What say we test it out for a string of 7 consecutive days (well, axe it early if it tanks so horribly it starts destroying zone population, of course, although I think this is unlikely to happen) and see whether we want to continue to implement it or go back to the old way?

I know...

Very true, Sharpflame. I agree entirely.
