Do you wash your hands after using the restroom?
Avast replied to L.C.'s topic in General Discussion
thats why people in mexico are brown -
At home don't have that problem. My dad made all our sinks/plumbing/built the whole house basically, so all the faucets are in the center, can even put your head under the faucet and wet your head in the summer when its hot.

Nothing new to do? How about a DSB type tileset 1$ per a tile?
-
I should have just cheated in DSB and got a 2 year ban. At least my ban would have been less, and I would have had a chance to cheat once, and brag about it, and know what it feels like.

They let MG die.. how is that revival going?
-
Well for myself, I spend my time in the game, the same as I did when I started.. I don't spec much, when I play it's only in increments of 30 min to an hour, between breaks of 2 hours where I close the game and do something irl. Usually any zone pub is enough to satisfy me, in fact I find pub more fun than leagues. But I doubt this game will ever die. It is probably wrong to view things that way. Life is not one point to another and it ends. Even time isn't linear. It's about cycles. In a circle everything returns back to the way it was one way or another. There are games much older than Subspace which still have 500 people on a day. There are people out there who specifically look for low end spec games, or 2D games, because they enjoy those more or their PC can handle it. I know tons of people who prefer SNES over any modern game today, and tons more who like text based games. As long as our get-continuum website stays up, and the zones. Then the game will never reach zero players, or even under 100 in my opinion.
-
Well there are many ways to do that really.. Something that would be great is getting Continuum back on http://www.mmorpg.com/ Maybe someone knows why we got taken off that website? or more importantly someone could get us back on, and maybe even featured in an article on their front page or something. I contacted them last year, but received no reply. I'm also wondering if Continuum has an official Youtube channel?

Well I know bad english, so I can just apply the reverse when proof reading.. lol Plus I like a good story..

Wasn't even referring to you last time and my post was mostly a joke anyway. But the point is..every zone runs things differently, and that's not a bad thing. It allows more ideas to flow. No_Remorse: I know, but AFAIK all of those zones have been low-key for the last several years. Cool Kilo, well Its up to the zone owners if they would want to team up, combine their staff and dev, and cycle their zone and see how it works, pros and cons. I think the only way to know for sure is to try it. I mean no one actually tried it, if its about letting ideas flow, maybe someone should give it a shot. A zone would never lose its identity, it would just come like the seasons do. This benefits some zones more than others, hockey zone was probably a bad example. But what would happen is a smaller zone list. Ideas and zones would still get represented, while having a more focused population. More focused population means a greater chance new players try a zone and stay, than enter an empty zone and quit. What I think most of us agree on is that the key thing that keeps players in a zone, is other players. Settings follow that, then development work, (how much a zone is developed on every month). But there is many kick ass zones with good settings and zero people. So no its not settings that get a player to stay Polix.
-
Your getting offended for no reason. It was just an example. Not even a real situation, it was an example in a Hypothetical situation, based on an idea. Anyway I mentioned Hockey Zone because it's one of the best zones in my opinion along with the others. Who is 'you'? I never said cycles would mean sub arenas. The whole zone would change from 17th Parallel to Devastation.. and so on for example. All of this would be made apparent so everyone would know that the zone cycles between four zones or whatever amount. Even new players. Does 17th even get new players? I know Large population zones do like Trench, EG, Chaos, that's why they are not apart of this cycle idea. They would stand alone separately.
-
Lol yeah its true it could be that way NR, but I don't know, DSB hasn't been the zone people wanted for five years now, and yet the players all still login to it, even if its just to sit in spec. At least in the above scenario you have hope that in one month your zone is up, and moreso you know that other people who would have only played 17th will probably be playing devastation now too. And vice versa.
-
No I don't want anything. People have no reason to be mad? If you think of the Cycle zone, as your zone, then it was never shut down. Your zone just decided to shift themes periodically. And your favorite theme is coming up, and it will be up for anywhere between 1 to 3 months. Depending on how many zones are being cycled. Also My favorite server on Infantry was Mechanized. But they would switch it out with a Soldier Combat zone, so Did I quit? no. I played that combat zone, I didn't like it that much, but when Mechanized came back It was a hell of a lot of fun, and then I started missing that Combat zone too. So basically most people wouldn't quit when they know their zone is coming up. They would also start liking other zones. AND they have no reason to leave when they think of the cycle zone as their zone, that is just switching themes periodically. Those that do quit would come back when their zones turn comes up. I mean when summer ends, you don't quit winter? Otherwise we would have a hell of a lot of suicides. Not to mention as much as you miss summer, in the summer you begin to miss winter. This is all psychology. I didn't play infantry for about a year. But Last I checked they still have 1000 people playing. That's something I never agreed with. What makes one zone better than another? This game is too elitist, and it shows because you have 30 empty zones. A real community doesn't go off and make their own zone, because its going to be better than what someone else has. A real community comes together and helps each other grow. I always felt Subspace should just have one Development team that works on every zone together. I think such an idea used to exist too because there was a dev chat called ?chat=ssdev, and it had developers from all the major zones in it. This was a brilliant idea, and should be pursued again. If four zones came together under one zone, and decided to cycle, every month. All the staff from each of the four zones would still be required, they would just work together thats all. Nobody would lose anything, in fact I think they would gain much more.
-
Lets assume this was attempted. Nothing is finite or set in stone. So it could be attempted any multiple types of ways. For example instead of Having Eg, Trench, Choas and a Fourth Zone. The fourth zone being the one that cycles every month. We could add a fifth zone that also Cycles. So five zones on the list, 2 of them are cycling some odd 20 zones and settings. We could let hosts like L.C, and other Hosts keep doing what they are doing it is a free community after all. So rather than force zones into this, someone could discuss the idea, and maybe out of these discussions four zones would agree to try it or that its a great idea. Lets assume those four zones, were 17th, Devastation, Starwars Zone, and Hockey Zone. So now all these zones close down and they all set up on one zone. And every month that zone will cycle between these four zones. Is this so terrible to think of? Nobody is losing anything, you would gain population ten fold. You retain all your staff. You need all the staff still for each cycle and zone. Why would anyone want to hold on to a title or position of power with nothing to show for it except a dying or empty zone? I don't see any problem with this except that it asks people to care about the community. Perhaps it's not something you guys are here to do yet. But regardless I am presenting the idea, I don't mind if no one does it. I just thought people could think about it.
-
I wasn't sure where to post this. And to whom it even concerns. Obviously it would require a big effort and consortium of people who agree and so on. But I like getting ideas out there.. So anyway I used to play Infantry and they did something unique when their population dropped. They have about 8 Zones. No Man’s Land, Combined Arms, Twin Peaks, Bug Hunt (which is Aliens) and Mechanized are some examples. Anyway what Infantry does is Alternate which ones are up. So it's hard to explain since you need to know Infantry, so I will explain in terms of Subspace. Shut down all zones except the most popular and integral ones, each offer unique game play, so keep trench wars up, extreme games, and Chaos zone. Then on top of those three zones, have one more zone. So our list would look like this. Extreme games, Trench Wars, Chaos Zone, fourth zone. The fourth zone will have 17th parallel for one month, next month it will have Devastation, the next month it will have Hyperspace, and so on for the good and awesome zones that qualify. What will happen almost exclusively, is that the fourth zone would easily start hitting around 100 people a day. Every month people looking forward to the time when their zone gets cycled. Yet still playing on another zone/setting. So every zone that has Zero to Ten people, would be played every day basically. As well everyone would have a feel for a different variety of zones after so they would be more free as opposed to the way it is now where people are stuck in one zone, and to one type of game play. That's what infantry does anyway. Keep in mind Certain zones would never Cycle like this. Which zones those are doesn't matter.
-
This. And you can do what tm_master does. Yeah well you need other new players to play with new players, so they actually have comparable skill levels and don't get slaughtered. I've been in 17th all day, and I have been killing people to much and they log off =/ So it seems I have to play bad on purpose so people enjoy playing =/ Meh might as well
-
Ahh okay cool, thanks for heads up
-
Well seeing as this is 17th revival, I think my squad will attempt to frequent 17th. We have always visited Devastation late at night, but 17th was my first zone, so I will attempt to bring in 5 or 10 people if and when I can. My squad is really casual as Delic knows. Anyway just a heads up, if you see 17th has more people than usual then stop in and play with us.

Not to nag or really complain, normally it wouldn't bother me and this would have been a decent idea.. But that banner thing changed my banner that my name had. And it was a banner not in my banner folder, which means I pretty much lost it forever. Maybe a warning next time that if you enter zone your banner will be replaced? Otherwise I really wouldn't have cared and it's neat.

I'm with NR, I prefer the old lanc, and pretty much agree - don't fix it if its not broken. I also prefer that weasel keeps it's cloak and stealth even in baseduel. Maybe people wanted to change the lanc, but they wanted small changes to recharge, or bomb damage. I think the current changes are too drastic and make the ship twice as powerful. I say we put it to a vote. The poll could focus on options like this. Should the lanc change 1. Yes but make it very small changes 2. No 3. Yes the current settings are perfect

For example if you kill me in pub. You would say 5-0gg. And talk about how you are better than me. But then I would kill you. And I would say 5-0gg and talk about how much better I am than you. You having only 800 energy are not immortal. So the possibility you will die by me is just as likely as the possibility I will die from you. So who is truly better when we can kill each other back and forth? It is the same with trolling. I have seen you troll before. You have trolled me. Some people might claim you are trolling me right now. I have also trolled before. Either way we could go back and forth forever debating something that really means nothing. I could equally find examples of you trolling but I don't need to post your trolling to discredit you or to try and make myself look better. Everyone who has played subspace can accept the fact that they have fooled around, pissed someone off, said ez, or otherwise trolled at least once. So nobody will believe you if you say you are perfect. I have already admitted I troll occasionally. It's still no reason to deserve a 13 year ban. Ulterior motives usually involve trying to pass yourself off as perfect, if I had Ulterior motives I would have spent my time in DSB kissing ass, like you do with DSB staff, while harboring secret resentment toward them. No instead I speak openly about any issues I have with staff, not only too them but to everyone else, and really thats what earned me my ban, being straight-forward. My posts are on DSB forums under Valour ant. I have made this clear well before you did. Everyone knows I am Falconeer, and when I play under another name I tell everyone I am Falconeer. I have never smurfed or otherwise tried to hide anything. For this very reason I really don't need to defend my posts. They all speak for themselves and people can draw whatever conclusion they want if thats what they are here to do. It's very clear why I posted this thread. I was threatened with a ban and if I ever talked about the threat with anyone I would be banned. It was solely for the last part. I knew Hoch would follow through and ban me. But it is worth it because It's about time someone exposes what Hoch does rather than be forced into a position of fear. As for giving points on what needs to be done in DSB right now. It makes me think that DSB staff is waiting to read this list because they have no idea how to improve the zone, and the only person who knows is someone they banned. Regardless I have listed tons of things DSB should be doing in this very thread. As for your definition of trolling. I never require any response from people let alone an emotional response. Though sometimes a two way conversation makes things more interesting, mainly I like to see how people react to certain things, if anything when I troll I much prefer someone who responds with a happy response, because it shows how cool people can be sometimes. I mostly 'troll' just to pass the time and entertain myself. People have ignored me and I have been unphased from trolling or otherwise talking to them or about them. So attention is not required. And as for being unbanned. It would be nice. But I am happy either way. Why am i happy, well for One, I did nothing wrong, so I can stand by my actions and words without regrets. Two, I don't feel harmed in anyway, let me check, yep my arms are still here, my legs, and so on. Three, harming me really harms the zone, because DSB is one less squad, one less person who provides meaning and life to the zone, yes even people you dislike can give you a reason to play, even if it that reason is there is falc now I can insult him and kill him a bunch of times! After all it has given you a reason to post here. Not to mention dsb is one less developer. Four, hoch always wanted DSB to go out in a blaze of glory, so in reality he put me out in a blaze of glory before the zone dies, this is really a privileged that I can die before the zone crumbles to dust. At least according to Hoch's Logic. But to be serious, I can focus on other things in life, and play in better zones with a more stable, respectful and sincere staff. Five, to really miss DSB Hoch will have to bring it back to 100 players. It can definitely be done. Just he can't do it. And he definitely can't do it alone, and with the current way he is running staff and the zone. Six, If you ban me I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine! - Obiwan Kenobi Basically if this serves to improve dsb, because Hoch is forced to actually login and fix the zone, then I am happy to be banned. Been there too long anyway, so no I don't need to be unbanned. Of course the right thing to do, would be to unban me. But that's another story. Seven, hell yes I can count all the way to seven!!!

Sure when she gets on msn I'll let her know

You will host any good zone free of charge? Someone I met recently, owns FIOS Battlestar Galactica, its a very good zone. Perhaps you could check it out? her in game name is yodasexy

I wasn't even only referring to SS. You just seem to have an opinion on everything, even if you knew nothing about it. I've understood it's part of this so called "trolling". Of course you know many things I don't. The point wasn't to go through your knowledge level here. The point was that you think you know everything discussed on planet. The point that you think your point of view is the correct one and the only option. I disagree, some people definitely do more harm than contribute. Take most of the constant rule breakers for example. I never said anything about your ban either. I don't think a 5000 day ban was justified. I never really trolled on forums, unless people baited me. And to that i say don't cry when you asked for it. And ban the person who takes things off topic and tries to start a fight with me, not me for responding. Truly don't ban anyone, but still people call me the troll when I mostly just respond. I barely ever initiate things at least on forums. But this is all another issue. No I don't think I know everything, this is something I am happy about, how can anyone learn if they think they know everything. You are mistaking me for Hoch. I just know myself. That's all there really is too it. There is always more than one option. Also I don't remember breaking DSB rules ever. Maybe once in 2006 I went on a team killing spree. But I've known plenty of people to team kill late a night when they are bored. Staff never caught me for that. And that was a long time ago when I did that. Otherwise everything staff ever banned me for, I never broke a rule, not once. And of course the fact that they only banned me one day, maximum one week in game, is proof of that. Hoch even banned me and cyanide for calling him ass once. I mean come on.. I think, Cyanide is still banned too, and basically for no good reason also. Well to answer your question - I never ever, not ever trolled new players, or people like Freespirit or Evada etc I pissed off people like Manwhore, Rea and Vanish occasionally, not even very often and being the type of people who like to brag and even call other people Noobs. I really think they survived my trolling. Generally whoever I picked on did some picking on of their own. Was it for revenge no. I don't care about how people act. It was because they were apart of that atmosphere, so they were just people I could troll, being trollers themselves. Oh and I went after smurfs, because thats my pet peve.

Why exactly would I have no experience on a subject? I played just as long as anyone else. I play league. And I entered six squads into league. Morally, Obsidian, Myrmidones and Novafire in 4vs4 league. And Tyranize, and 181st Tie in 12vs12 league. I am also one of the very very very select few players who play pub and actually reach 500 kills before the scores reset. Which I something you can't even say for yourself. Most league players don't play pub. So where do you get this idea that I don't bring a good perspective to any discussion? I know things about DSB you probably never even heard of. For example in ?go #wiz the people from Starmen.net used to play there every weekend and hold events and tournaments. Very few people in DSB even knew a whole group of 20 players was entering a private arena to play on weekends. I think everyone contributes to the the community in a positive way even the oddballs who say ez every time they kill you. Anyway I want whats best for the zone, so if some people feel that me gone is better, then I'll just accept that and move on. After all I don't have to wrestle with my conscience, in other words I am feeling fine, I did nothing wrong. if you feel a 13 year ban was the right thing to do to someone for expressing their opinions then your free to think that.

Everyone making accounts - or at least first posts, to talk to me. I feel honored - and I mean it. I never said I made the changes - I said my ban brought about some (last minute) changes. And these changes although good in the short term, will never solve the long term problems of poor management and policy. I will get into more of that later on when I am ready to make a larger post. Lets go over what I agreed with just between me and you Tembest. When staff came out positive with promises to improve 12vs12. I supported at least an attempt after 10 years to Improve 12vs12 before scrapping it. Because of this I could not support Delics 6vs6 Idea as a "Main League" I just felt there was so many ways to improve 12vs12, and this was in 2009, so at the time we had a decent league population of around 250 players. And it seemed that if the proper changes that the community wanted were made, it would have been successful. Regardless despite not approving of 6vs6 as a main league. I never disagreed that we shouldn't have a 6vs6 league. (Sadly I don't remember the series of events - maybe you can clear it up for me Tembest, was that during league 12? or was this attempt to improve 12vs12 the DSB cup?) Recently my opinions have been WHILE THEY PREPARE DAKRNS MAP for a 9vs9 league... 1. Babl should be run first (with me and severs suggestions on enhancing the format) - Format, not gameplay, you can search on dsb forums for those suggestions, I think there is a thread in Suggestions forum. 2. 7vs7 should be run next - and delic should be involved in the team that organizes and prepares the league. Using Severs map. 3. In July after these two leagues are over Dakrn would have had enough time to prepare and finish the new Deathstar he was mapping with his team. That was the proper way to do things. YOU never rush a map, that might be something we play for the next 5 years. And march 3rd is a rush. You don't rush creativity or dev work. You just don't. (and in fact you can find a post on Trench wars new map, and how they state they worked on it for 8 months, and called tons of people into the arena - trench wars is a good example of a zone that knows where their ass is) I always had this stance, and I agreed with most people on every topic, especially for example that staff should stop making recruiting threads, because they know full well who wants to help and who has the time to help. Which is Something that Vanish posted and backed up recently. I took a firm stance that Dakrns map should not be tested when I (being one of the major developers on it) still had ideas to improve the map, you only test a map when you run out of ideas. This is actually a good thing, because the map was already uploaded in pub. So the community had plenty of time to comment and give opinion and view the map. If you wanted more in detail opinion, then you invite players one at a time into your Dev arena and ask them. Testing was not required until the full dev team was ready. But of course Dakrn, Hoch, and Beer never wanted to involve me in any meetings or consider me as part of the Dev team, even though Greenish recruited me and I was good at making maps, and even helped with their map. It was my stance that the map should never have been up for one month - killing pub. Theme weeks should only last 3 days. And it was my stance that Hoch shouldn't have lied to everyone claiming this map wasn't being considered for league. It is also my stance that they they should be uploading theme weekends like Turret theme while developing league. You have to learn to keep a zone alive while you Develop it. Instead staff completely, utterly and totally neglected the zone, while Developing for league. (A turret theme weekend takes 10 minutes to put up - and yes many people love this theme, it would have kept things lively.) As well it was my stance that Fly and Moris Theme should finally be tested in Pub. Yet nobody was doing that either. Once again this is everything the community not only wanted, BUT DESPERATELY NEEDS. It was also my stance the tile-set chosen when they uploaded this new map was a poor choice, and a downgrade. So yes these where my positions They were always for the benefit of DSB They were in support of what the community wanted. And really to word it different, they were the communities wishes. If hoch didn't "Listen" to me, then he opened his eyes after banning me, out of fear of what SSforum community would think of his failure to run his zone. And he finally made one change the community wanted. And if you do what the community wants, you are in the end "Listening" to me. And that change was - Running 7vs7 league <- ONLY one change in the last minute aside from Hoch logging on more often. (however we still have no clue if he scrapped Dakrns map, and if he did that was a wrong decision once again, and I feel sorry for all of Dakrns hard work for nothing)
