More like my ban brought about some of the changes the community wanted. I e-mail Hoch about all the problems I see in the zone. He doesn't ban me for the e-mails but rather threatens to get rid of me, especially if I inform people of his threat. I inform everyone. He bans me 13 years, for breaking this confidentiality that I never agreed to keep. Then having actually read all my posts and e-mails he does half the things I suggested anyway. If I didn't provoke him Hoch would have done nothing, and staff would have continued failing. He is only picking up the slack and pretending to care now because peoples attention have shifted to him and the zone which is in crisis. So far he went from logging in once a month to logging in every single day. That's an impressive change of attitude. Besides as I have said before Hoch will have to bring DSB back to 100 players for me to feel like I am missing out with his ban. And anyway that was my goal. So either way I am happy. So remember to think of me, when you are enjoying a better DSB. And remember Hochs policy and management will never change, so while they reversed a few bad decisions (in the last minute) and made the right ones, the zone will most likely continue to starve to death and remain under an oppressive heel.

Well I definitely agree with the Mine graphics going back to Mine graphics. That prize stuff is annoying. Lancaster - not sure if the changes are good.. but as long as nobody downgrades Levi, in order to improve Lanc (focus on lanc only in my opinion) What exactly where the changes on the Lanc? Also I agree we should have more games in Main, Perhaps someone can set up some scoring system where various records of players are listed?

No remorse do you know exactly what was changed? Because I can't really tell. Repels Stealth/cloak Levi/Lanc bombs? Anyway I agree original settings were awesome, except for ship 5, which was pretty weak and unused. Every other ship was used a ton.

I know this thread is a bit old and I didn't test anything but I have played Devastation with tm since 2007 and I have some preferences on what settings should be for baseduel. The other day tm got rid of repel in baseduel because he said people were complaining because the game was so large and with everyone repelling it made it difficult to do anything. It was just for that game. However, no repel left weasel even more useless. I think a good alternative is to have one repel on two types of ships. The ships I suggest are Weasel and Javelin. It is also possible that when base games become very large we can switch to this 2 ship repel system and when Games are 5vs5 or less we can have one repel on every ship. I have also been upset that the cloak and stealth have been removed from weasel. If people don't know this, I used to play weasel very often, and I would rush with the ship. Weasel already had a poor burst, and simple L3 guns, with a repel. It's only other real advantage was cloak and stealth. I was a cloak and stealth rusher. I would turn both on and rush, and usually get two kills before I died. We also used to have a few ships with Xradar back then, and any part of a good baseing defense was to have someone who had xradar on. It was part of the game, and allowed for more tactics. It was also impossible to cloak past anyone in 5vs5 so cloak and stealth served more for combat than anything else in large games. Tm removed cloak and stealth mainly for small games like 3vs3 and under. This is fine, but I think when games become 5vs5 or greater cloak and stealth should be added back along with xradar automatically by the bot/or module or however it works. Right now as it stands, weasel has nothing but a lame burst, and l3 guns. It has been stripped of all specials and advantages.

Oh and since Manwhore mentions current state of affairs on DSB forums. Here is a bit of news (a post on DSB-forums) from Seriel Killer, another Developer and Staffer who quit. And some IN GAME news So this is how Hoch basically talks to everyone who is worried about the zone they have played in for ten years. Instead of saying he cares and he has a plan he would rather argue about how people should 'address' him. Is that all you view as important Hoch? Anyone who actually put the zone and community first would have all this posturing and bigotry as the last thing on their minds. Yet for some reason this is the only thing on your mind and always has been. Hoch goes on further to say "I don't like playing games". Haha well you made that clear, if you liked to play games maybe the zone wouldn't be dying and you would actually login and dare I say play the game. Then to top this all off Hoch doesn't like patronizing language. Well maybe he should re-read every post he has every made on every forum, and every comment he ever made. Because Patronizing and treating the player base as morons is the corner stone of Hoch's conversations. For example the latest post on DSB forums from Hoch. And a reply by the_snake who used to be Head of the Development team.

You just like Hoch can discredit me all you want, but you can't change facts this isn't a popularity contest. And you just like Hoch tarnished your own image. I didn't go around asking for people to be banned and calling them cancer noobs now did I? So don't take your anger out on me for your own actions. But I congratulate you, this is the first time you offered your point of view, Instead of posting BAN THIS IDIOT. Maybe posting on SSFORUMS served to clean up your act. Or maybe you know that on SSFORUMS there is no Ban happy Moderators that can be used as your tool.

I'm a bit incredulous at the fact that I find myself replying to you, but let me get to the point. I firmly stand behind that statement. DSB is in a state of crisis and the ongoing debates in our league forum from the past few months will ultimately determine the future of this zone. Your posts, like the ones in this thread, are long-winded and in general lacking substance (although to give you some credit, you seem to have cleaned up your act a bit on here; kudos). Any of you non-DSBers can view his posts for yourself over at forums.deathstarbattle.com in the DSB League section, username Valour Ant. Your posts sabotage and derail actual debate. Plenty of casual forum readers--myself included--were completely turned off from reading the forums and contributing to the debates because of YOU. Not everyone wants to spend hours a day reading page after page of rambling nonsense. I would LOVE to read a few pages of logic and useful contribution, but sadly you are INCAPABLE of bringing either of those things to the table. Compound this all with the fact that you are absolutely terrible at this game, rude to everyone you talk to, disliked by the majority of the DSB community for your trolling habits to which you GLOAT about, and to me it is quite clear that your absence is not missed. As evidence of that point, please look at the USEFUL DEBATE going on in the threads since your departure. I'm sorry Falc, but you've been way beyond your 9 lives for years. You never made any points except to ban me. So don't talk to me about contributing to topics. The most you ever contribute is that you write "I agree with this person" That is not actually bringing anything to the table, all you ever do is agree with someone else, or disagree, you never offer a self determined opinion or different perspective. When I posted I always offered a different perspective and it was a perspective of a player who captains a rookie squad. You being 'high and mighty' pro player obviously disagree with my views and because we so often disagree you see it fit to say that I don't provide constructive points to debates. Just because someone supports the other side of a debate does not mean they are not contributing. Someone always has to support the other side. And further more if I am wrong it would prove whatever points you are trying to make. Regardless I agree that 6vs6 league should be run, I agreed with testing and trying this map for a league, but view it as not ready and agree that the community does not accept the map. I always agreed league should NOT be 9vs9. So I really fail to see where you can go around saying I derailed or prolonged anything and try to pin something on me, where obviously the real issue is DSB staff. And everyone knows my forum name on DSB forums, I did post a screenshot of it you know? As If I ever had anything to hide. I have never cleaned up my act, I am the same, if you view me as being different it's because you are looking more carefully instead of being blinded by your trolling rage.

17th is a great zone. It was the zone I started on along with Dueling Arizona. I really liked the weasel that you just shot bullets out of and flew backwards and the bullets stayed in the place you shot them effectively forming a wall of death. I prefer that weasel over the tiny re-invention any day. As well I agree with Sever that the east and west map saw a peak in 17th population. I was not heavily involved in the zone and never new anyone there or even who staff was but I do remember being new to subspace and 17th being one of the many zones I tried that nothing could compare to. It has a very unique game play and its still extremely fun, if only more people would spend their time in 17th. I wish you the greatest success delic.

My exclusive club has always been my squad 181st Tie, and we will meet up and play another zone. Maybe Extreme games, or Trench wars league. And definitely some Devastation! Rofl Sever I don't know whose more daunting, CSI Miami Guy or Clint East wood. Hahaa Sever you know I was actually a big part in making this map. Even when dev team tried to keep me out of it. Mainly Beer Hunter and Kaiyin. But I eventually got through to Dakrn, and he decided to give me a chance to fix the map. And he loved what I did with it. Having worked on the map, I really do like the map and think it has potential. But Sever is 100% right. The community didn't take well to the unfinished map, especially with the wrong tiles it had. And furthermore the map is no where near ready. Instead of running Babl league or 6vs6 league and letting the development team properly work on the map and finish it gradually they are rushing the maps completion for March 3rd so it will be ready for DSBL13. That is a bad mistake. And it was a mistake to leave an unfinished map up in pub for one month. The map needs many changes to even be considered for a league.

Adraak I hope you understand that by posting under another name and hiding your identity you are just supporting the type of environment that Hoch thrives in. And that would be one of deception and cover ups. I truly dislike none-straight-forward people. Anyway lets add context to that thread. Then again perhaps your afraid Hoch will ban you too. The thread is called Moving forward to League 13. In the thread I mentioned how we have a 60 tiles tile set, and how we used these tiles for 10 years. These tiles truly give the feel of DSB and to replace them on the new map with 20 generic tile set was a downgrade. This is a valid point and everyone agreed with me. I also made this post in that thread. And once again people agreed with me I also supported other PEOPLE in that thread. And after all my constructive criticism, SUPPORT of other people, and even everyone agreeing with me. Manwhore was still entering every thread I posted in and calling for staff to BAN me from forums. Probably because he is mad at me. Sadly he doesn't realize if staff bans me for just talking, they will one day ban him for even less, because they won't like him anymore. Supporting one injustice means it will happen to you one day. The right thing to do is support what is right. Not who you like. So My reply (the one beer hunter edited out) was a LOG of me and the_snake talking about League 13 and the problems DSB is having with it. And it was a direct reply to the thread, and to Manwhores TENTH post to ban me. Why add a conversation with snake? I wanted to show that other people agree with my views on league 13 to manwhore, so he would have less of a reason to call to keep banning me when his friend snake agrees with me. Yes somehow manwhore was free all week to go in every thread I post in and ask for me to be banned. Using terms like Cancer troll - when even our own DSB staff Dakrn is recovering from cancer. Yet people see fit to ban me? Someone who gave valid points? I never asked for him to be banned or to stop or anything. I don't mind if people hate on me. And because banning is stupid. Lol no Mano. Beer Hunter banned me from forums. (It was because beer deleted my post, but instead of deleting it, he edited it to say that he removed my post because it's off topic, so since it was still my post I edited it back as a joke. Beer being in my squad, and being on my MSN, was the first person I showed the post too. Needless to say Beer didn't find it funny. And said something like if you screw with me your finished. Completely unexpected to be honest.) So he banned me until February 10 from forums. Hoch banned me from dsb forums permanently after. And banned me because of e-mailing him about all the problems I see in DSB. Also known as being a nuisance and making incursions etc. I only e-mail Hoch because staff always tells me to talk to Hoch when I bring up something. And e-mail is the only way to have a conversation with him. Lol and as you might already know Mano I have been banned from DSB forums before from 2007 until 2010. That might be true, then again everything I confront beer with he tells me it's Hoch, or Hoch decides that. So there is no way to hold anyone accountable for anything except Hoch. Also that's why I didn't accept Beers proposition. They can find any reason to ban me then. Now they don't really have a reason except that I talk a lot.

Reputation what a Joke. Do you know how many games I played way before Subspace where I was practically worshiped? What does that say about your reputation? Worshiped, Hated? I already said I didn't post this for politics. I could have posted tons of things on SSFORUMS ages ago that could make hoch look bad. No instead I made a DSB blog, and MOSTLY it's just a very small archive of things I managed to collect. I don't show it off. I could have posted everything on the Blog here, but I didn't. So once again I hate politics. I was involved in politics online once when I was 18, and its a severe waste of time. I don't need any staff positions, or status. If I wanted real and true status I would cease being a troll and make tons of friends, because that is in a sense REAL POWER. Truly I don't care who runs the zone, I never cared if Beer Hunter remained league coordinator. I just care when something is done half assed, or wrong, or when others purposefully harm the zone, or step on people with their power. I don't step on people. I don't ban people. Yes I troll but believe me when I say the treatment I get back from 20 angry people is much worse than what I can dish out. Someone who has power like Hoch or Beer should not be abusing it. I have no power so nothing was abused. So with that said since I don't care if Hoch is the zone owner, But I do care when things are repeatedly screwed up year after year. It means if Hoch improved or changed, or had a more open mind, and was dare I say more Compassionate, then he would make a fine zone owner, and I would be fucking epically happy. I just want to see things improved. I really don't want to harm anyone, I would feel extremely bad after, because unlike some people I have a conscience. This is my personal response. But the DSB community is dying. The reason I post on dsb forums, and why I posted here, is to expose the truth. Because only with everything known can anything ever improve. Plus I'm actually free to post here without threat of bans.

Hoch doesn't take well to criticism. And believe me its well overdue. Ten years overdue. So many mistakes with league, management and staff and zone Policy. From people in staff positions who are completely inactive. To people in staff who don't even play the game. To tons of people who want to help, where staff could just approach them and invite them to do so. Yet they don't. Instead they hold on pride and ego, and post recruiting threads on DSB forums. Why? You know full well who wants to help, you just don't want their help. Delic and Vanish for example come to mind for remaking our 6vs6 league. Sever and Seriel Killer for Babl, Myself I applied for referee (1 hour on a Sunday) but as Beer Hunter likes to tell me Hoch> "Falconeer will never be involved in anything DSB" Morihkan and Fly Swatter, who only have DEV zone access (yes another zone), given by Greenish not Hoch. Not to mention the_snake and Tango who would probably do wonders for the zone if they could be convinced to rejoin DSB Dev team. Sadly they never will rejoin and you know why? Because Hoch doesn't like to apologize either. I guess cowards don't have courage to admit when they wronged other people. Or brains to see it either. Not that I don't think it takes two. Tango and Snake aren't perfect, but being grown ups we expect people to forgive and forget and fix the fucking zone. Not to mention everything in DSB is considered Central Intelligence Agency classified and there is never community involvement. It took staff 3 months to inform us what the new league will be. What a joke. P.S I really don't give a shit about politics Also a recurring trend with Hoch is cover ups. And to that I say, Someone who can stand by their actions, wouldn't need to hide their actions. He knows he is wrong.

Hoch at his best 1. Hoch announces hes shutting down DSB, effectively speeding up the population decrease ten fold. 2. Hoch makes promises to improve DSB pub, yet no improvements have been made 3. Staff uploads the new league map (Me, Dakrn, Entropy, were the major creators of this map) They call it a theme weekend - you know 3 to 5 days maximum, or basically to be uploaded in pub over the weekend. Yet the map stays up for a month effectively killing our zone population even more. Why would you keep a map up for one month, especially one that is not near finished. DSB staff seems to think theme weekends involve every weekend of the month including weekdays. 4. Hoch claims he wants the new map to feel like the old one, so that people accept it more yet they upload it with completely different tiles, they go from a tile set that has 40 different tiles, to a generic tileset that has 12 tiles. This is obviously a downgrade. Nobody likes the new tiles they are using. 5. Hoch is never seen in the zone for weeks at a time. Basically once a week, if not once a month and he only stays maximum 5 minutes to 1 hour. 6. Staff does not provide equal opportunity recruiting methods in DSB, for simple positions like league ref (1 hour on a sunday) or Development team. Instead their recruiting methods border on Mafia, personal preference, prejudice and whatever else you want to call it. Equal opportunity would mean they accept you into staff, like a low level dev or ref position, and if you break a rule they punish you accordingly and remove your position. Then they ACTUALLY have a reason to say you can't help. Instead they hate their own player demographic and treat us like criminals. They will never get anyone to help with the zone. There is a major shortage of Refs and Development team. Everyone was either fired wrongfully, quit, doesn't want to work with hoch or beer hunter, or just can't help because staff won't accept their help out of pride. 7. One part of staff like say Greenish, accepts people in Dev team and ER positions, and to help with the zone, but the other part of staff discriminates and boycotts those people and does not involve them in any projects. 8. Random abuse, threats, and blackmail from Hoch and other DSB staff. I have screenshots upon screenshots of this. Only cheaters deserve bans, DSB staff has no ability to deal with people or make friends and no desire. In fact their methods of dealing with people also serves to destroy the zone. 9. There have been no events in DSB for over 6 months. No Turret theme weekend, that would literally take five minutes to prepare and upload. Nothing, pub has remained the same with no goals, you just enter and flag, and kill mindlessly. 10. Fly swatter and Morihkan another example of people trying to help the zone, have programmed bots, maps, and types of game play that would make pub 10 times more fun. Yet 6 months later and their finished work still hasn't been uploaded. 11. Fly swatter is one of the only people who program bots for DSB, and yet Hoch doesn't give him any access. Another example of personal preference over helping the zone. 12. DSB 80 population last year, to an average of 35 now.

Devastation needs bot coders too Interestingly enough.. A lot of zones need help.. But its not Deva, why need bots in deva when we have Tm_master? =P Sadly there isn't a tm_master in every zone, or a Hakaku

Well if you message me in game you can find out all the details or join ?chat=Kingsbounty which is easier The reason I am not mentioning the zone is because I am not high ranking staff there, I am just a mapper on the Dev team. Therefore I can't represent the zone officially. This is my idea with no support from the zone owners, so consider this a private venture to help a zone. I require probably some basic things. A new tileset for the zone. I will explain in great detail how the tiles should be. I am looking for a new NKZ, possibly in the form of a LVZ I will explain in some detail of what is needed there. I am looking to add some Modes to an Event, Zombie mode, Team conquer mode, and Team Elim mode. I am looking for a bot that can identify new players and returning players to the zone, however it would not give out alias information. If anyone can do this its possible more things may be needed of greater complexity. Of course like I said I am willing to pay whatever you feel your time is worth. =) And FYI Everything has to be done in Merv. Of course you will be credited for your work 10,000 percent!

I've thought about it a lot. I suppose the more your mind is set on dying, the more likely it will happen. But there are just too many people that would be happy if i died So i stay alive to spite them. lol And anyway we all die eventually, its just a matter of when and how.. Banned123 was in DSB yesterday Night cheating. He was warping across the map an infinite amount of times, ending up in multiple locations. Flying at very fast speeds, and shooting an infinite number of bullets. Anyway im pretty sure if the guy can do this, that hes an SSC wide problem, and hes causing problems in more than one zone. My screenshots are hard to interpret since he was moving extremely fast, and shooting very fast, and even warping between points. So in the future im going to have a video capture system ready that i can run within seconds.
