Wo notice Novafire my squad is the only squad with no forfeits consistently. Im very proud that my squad had constant shows, even if we did lose. They even showed when i forgot to tell them we had games, and when i didn't even show myself. The one forfeit we do have is because I forgot to play with my league name, and Beer didn't notice the mistake either so he forfeited our only win, and gave us a loss. Also the Sunday 25th game where |ntuition beats Novafire 1-0. Was originally scheduled for Sunday 18th. Beer hunters own squad Intuition would have had a forfeit loss against Novafire on that day. Since we showed with 5 people and only Beer hunter showed. He asked if I would grant his squad a reschedule to the 25th. Basically asked me to not allow Novafire the win. Seeing as it was both of our squads last game, and none of us would make play offs either way. I granted the reschedule. I wanted our last game to at least be played. So instead of Novafire winning by forfiet, we lost to intuition the next week when they finally had 4 people show. Whats more Beer hunter was NOT only playing for his squad in 4vs4, he was the referee at the same time. This further shows how staff is understaffed. They have none to very few Referees to host league games at the moment. Also keep in mind of all the squads who didn't forfeit lose to Novafire. Half of them showed with 3 players only. Instead of the regular 4 required. 4vs4 would have had less squads in it if it wasn't for me anyway. I actually actively recruited for Renegades squadron when I could have been recruiting those people for my own squad. And rens is a squad that is represented by Greenish who is on DSB staff himself. So even their own staff member showed no interests in the league until i began pushing them to recruit and telling people to apply to their squad. At the same time Port Llast had 5 members for two weeks, (1 short of the requirement of 6 members for the league) and it was only four days until 4vs4 started. When i confronted Seriel Killer he said he would not bother with this league. But i convinced him to recruit and he shortly got 10 people in four days and entered the league with a total of 14. So I explain this because I want a cookie. As well I am trying to show the current state of people and league in DSB. People are not inspired, and have no drive or moral. They do not currently have faith in DSB staff as it is right now. Fabled and Novafire were both disappointed with 4vs4 format also. It makes no sense to have squad maximum of 20 players, so when 12 show, i grab the best 4 and tell the other 8 to sit in spec. This format does not encourage people to play. Before 4vs4 had a half time, so 4 people could play first half and 4 second half. This allowed for the maximum amount of people who showed to be able to play. 1 round only works well in automated leagues like in trench wars. You can challenge a squad, put 5 in, win a game, then re-challenge 10 seconds later, and put 5 new guys in. However dsb's 4vs4 is scheduled not automated. Meaning if those 4 people who showed and didn't get a chance to play want to play, they need to try again next weekend. It makes no sense to have squad sizes of 20 if your going to have this format. Squad sizes of 6 seem more in tune with a 1 round scheduled league. One can argue you can use subs. But im not going to sub 4 people in the middle of their game. That causes to much confusion, and just doing it is complicated, especially for a squad of new players like my own. They need to consider hiring people who want to help also. Staff lately has been making promises, and has been proactive with their suggestions on how they will fix 12vs12 league. However it is very late for all these changes, and more needs to be done. People are still not convinced.

TM is usually on every night, we had a nice 3vs3 going. Would have easily been 5vs5 but people kept leaving. Where has NR been??

Change back the mines from prize graphics into ordinary mines. It was fine for awhile but now its just annoying. Also I would like to see some sort of Devastation Retro Theme. I miss a lot of the older maps we used to play on in 2007.

Hey.. I also go by the name Falconeer A very few Some of you know me from SSCA Devastation Zone. I have made a few friends there in the past. DEVASTATION FOR LIFE! Anyway after reading what was said here for the past week I want to inform the community of my DSB Blog. I made it back in February. I just made it to show events and news that otherwise would go unnoticed in DSB. Also since bans are not to be discussed in DSB I wanted a place where the community could speak freely without being banned from DSB forums. The site has seen very little attention for months and was behind on updates since im lazy and I was not really into it. Lately the events have sparked my interest and so the site has seen a spark too. Personally I just made the site for a few laughs in some cases and to express my opinions. Though much of what I post is backed up with screenshots and logs because thats the way I like it. Hi everyone.. This Falconeer.. from Deathstarbattle. Some of you might remember me as Avast. I only started playing devastation around 2007 i think. Back then devastation had 10 people on a night. We would have 5 vs 5 base games. Eventually we would get 14 people a night, 18 people sometimes and we would have some of the most fun basing games. No remorse was playing then, gibbit, clee, mage, the accountant. I eventually became bot op, and would host racing games. I would also often bring people from my squad into the zone. My squad was Tyranize, 181st Tie, etc. This is in fact the very reason you guys know clee1. This is the reason you met clee1. He was from my squad, and would never have entered devastation if it wasn't for me. Ftw is also another person I brought over. There were also many other people I brought into the zone to play. I remember sometime in 2007 we had a record 30 people online. 8 of them were from my squad. I even made a pact with tm_master to transform my squad name to Obsidian, and recruit people into Obsidian. That way Obsidian squad would exist in DSB. And hopefully a connection could be formed between the DSB obsidian and the devastation obsidian. This did last for many months. And Obsidian had over 30 people in it at one point. However I had some problems outside subspace and was unable to continue. Tm master contacts me every single night in a PM and says hey man come and play some deva. And at least half the time I do. I think the very fact I want to post here and express all this shows I have a love for devastation.. you guys are taking advantage of something special here.. I know its hard and your trying hard, and there is a lot of stress and pressure. But you will think back on this.. and say.. wow remember devastation? We should have never closed it.. it was the most fun I had even when I was doing all the work.. I miss all the people.. I miss the zone settings.. I even miss the damn chat, and people spamming me to come and play deva. When I enter other zones, the atmosphere is terrible. If its not the players who ruin the moment, its ALMOST always the staff of other zones.. Devastation has some really amazing people pulling for it.. Such people should never be let down.. I still have many contacts from Deathstarbattle.. around 50 people. I will do my part and make an effort to bring whoever I know that is online to the zone. Just like i did in the past. I could only bring 2 to 8 people at a time. And they would only play for 30 minutes or an hour. But I believe thats an epic accomplishment and everything will help. Besides maybe someone i bring will be like clee, and end up living in the zone lol. Also I can rejoin staff and offer any help you need hakaku. I dont have many skills, but I have 2 hours a day to help you out, I am sure we can find something for me to do other than bringing people over. I can dev maps really well. However I am used to devving dsb maps, so I will need some time to get used to Devastations map style. I can host some races like before. Maybe help you with website updates.. or to test things out etc. There is no reason to close devastation, there are lots of people who want to help tm master and you hakaku. Plus I have never left devastation chat all these years. How come you never mentioned me!

Okay When I was talking to TM master about having a flag league, it was in early july. It took all the way until September to have DEVA league? The reason July was good is because my squad is from DSB. In September we start DSB LEAGUE. There is no way I can guarantee any show ups at all to any matches, since we have our attention on a league that has been around for 10 years, in our home zone. It took until the 11th for me to remember to check deva forums. So maybe we'll make the next match if we are scheduled.

My squad 181st Tie is on the way to being ready and active for Deva Paintball league. I will just need until the end of the week I hope. The squad size has been lowered to 12. NR I brought many people to Deva who stayed in the chat and played on there own time. I didn't even have to tell them to ?go deva after. Examples, are clee, ftw, rubberchicken, a few more that I cant remember off the top of my head. Thats back when I had a smaller squad, and was less inclined to bring them to Deva. Im sure we can get some people over.

Just an update of the situation. Many devastation players still stop by and its great. Some of you might notice I am bringing in a trickle of new faces from time to time. It will stay slow at first to bring players into devastation. In DSB However, things are proceeding much faster than I originally planned. The squad is taking off so to speak and I love it every time this happens. When you have a goal, somehow the universe conspires to help you achieve it. By June I expect to have the squad up to Unique people all active. That is close to double my original projection. Lets add for a 50% failure rate !@#$%^&*uming im not perfect. That still means Devastation will have 40 new dedicated players it never had before.

Great the squad is most active during 16gmt to 22gmt. Thats an estimate of 12pm to 6pm eastern standard time. Some people are from USA/canada so they log on after 6pm too. All Obsidian are welcome, the more the better, because if the squad gets to know the devastation players it will increase chances of them playing there. I highly recommend just getting to know people before you start spamming the chat with come to devastation. Just find me, falconeer, in game, or send me a message, if you want the DSB obsidian, squad chat. My Goals/Short term January February M!@#$%^&* recruiting. I will recruit anyone with a good friendly at!@#$%^&*ude. Organizing the website and squad forums. Signing people up for league and squad forums, adding e-mails. Goal is to hit 50 People by June. Currently I have 30 people from DSB, and the original 11 obsidian players from Deva. March More recruiting. At a faster pace, because march break, and march in general is the best time to recruit in DSB. Meeting girls in chat rooms and getting them addicted to subspace, and having them join my squad, so the guys are entertained! April I will recruit at a more normal leisurely pace. Around April I will have a squad theme event were we play in different zones one day of the week. Say a Thursday. April is when you can expect to see me start bringing players into Devastation.

While this is all true. I am working hard to make Obsidian big in Death star battle. And bring people over from time to time. Tm master has personal happiness to attend to. But it will all work out in the coming months. I expect devastation to pick up this coming summer and winter.

So I'm recruiting for Obsidian, in DSB. We have 37 people in total now, including those who are Obsidian in Devastation, the plan is to make the squad more popular, and more well known, and to hopefully get people to try out devastation, and possibly play Devastation on a regular basis. I am the acting captain in DSB, Clee is also helping me with this and has been great support. As a captain I can only do so much, I cant force people to play Devastation, but you will definitely see me bringing groups of people to devastation once in awhile. From there it would be up to TM, and you guys to keep them in devastation. Everyone I recruit into Obsidian, is really nice and friendly, we have a separate squad chat. If you really really want to belong in our squad chat I have no problem with that, if they know you it will make it easier for them to play devastation in the future. Just message Falconeer in game, for the Obsidian DSB squad chat. TM master gave me permission to do this, and he supports it, so Obsidian seems to have a bright future in the upcoming months. I'm on all day. I might enter deva if it had a 2 vs 2 at least. But it usually just has Xdoom.

Tuesday is way to early. How about Friday night? Thats way people who have school can stay up late regardless since there is no school Saturday.

I kind of never liked playing for three hours straight, helping to raise a large jackpot and then having to log off because no one wants to win. Its like I wasted three hours.

Are you guys still doing this? I'd like to race too. Every person who participates bets 10 million. The winner gets 10 million from each person. So if five people race, the winner would get 40 million.

In my case I had a large squad in another zone which I played since 1998. Its really hard to risk something like that on a zone that has less people than my squad did, which I never played before 2007. Bringing my squad over, risking a possible squad dissolve, and other complications, not to mention the hard work of convincing 50 people to play in devastation, was not something I was prepared to do without being staff first, and to tell the truth. Even when I was staff I wasn't prepared to do it. I only brought a few people over, like FTW, Rubberchicken, etc. and much of my squad preferred to play in DSB.

The past few days I haven't really played any big games in deva, and I noticed poor tm specs and logs off. So lets plan a big game Saturday 10th starting at 12am EST. Basically lets spam deva chat, and all our other chats, and tell our friends from other zones. If you don't have friends you have 1 week to make some. Im confident I can bring maybe two or three people who never played deva before on Saturday. If we all show up and bring two or three people we will have a HUGE game and some fun.
