  1. Dude, your argument would be a lot more easier to understand if you typed it up correctly... it's not doing any good your image as well to have it like this... Anyway, the main point was this: No, that's what it's for!
  2. The system is not meant for people getting back their stone age usernames. It is meant for if you play one day, then screw up your computer and wipe your passwords while doing it, then you can get them back afterwards, usually. Or if you go on a few weeks vacation and forget it. While I have heard angry words about the speed of responsiveness, the general idea is sound. [Moving to lounge as well] (And trusting sysops is a slippery slope.)
  3. Sorry, Mav, that's incorrect. The trace shows that everything is in perfect working order, really. As I have said several times on this board, the only hop that matters is the last one. And this 1% can be discarded as measurement inaccuracy. So, everything looks fine.
  4. You could try without the router as well, if the possibility exists to connect the internet directly to your computer. Or try it without the other computers for a few hours.
  5. ... what in the world do you need a bot for?
  6. Well, trace looks fine. Try calling your ISP and having them check the line (and hope they check it at a moment when it is going bad). I assume you have tried with all other programs off? And downloading programs off too?
  7. Nice work, bjorn I like the fact that the bot reverses And I really don't understand what you were trying to say, Confess... who cares if such things have been done before?

  10. Advertising what? Whatever it is, stick it in the Lounge

Yes, it should be easy for anyone. Certainly no more config files. Nobody will have to edit any config files! Wizards and editors for everything
  12. That's most likely some background program that's interfering with Continuum on your computer.
  13. But if he updates it so often... perhaps it's better to wait until there's a stable version?

    Yes. Nobody uses it
  15. Basically, there's nothing you can do. If one zone works and another does not, it's out of your hands. It will fix itself in a few weeks, most likely.
  16. I simply support abortion since it has practical uses. Why ruin somebody's life with an unwanted baby? Existing lives are worth more than new potential lives to me. I do not consider babies living humans during the first stages of development (they're just extra organs in my reasoning), so they have no inherent right to live in my eyes.

Ok, good luck accepted. I'll try my best PS. In case some readers missed it, I am evilly censoring this topic. Nobody talk about the merits of different OSs or MS stuff here :sos:

He dabbles with his own useless server software that'll never be used by anyone.

It will take lots of time Well, of course I'll try to make it as easy as possible to use. User-friendliness is the number one area I'll be concentrating on during later stages of development. Bandwidth requirements... hmm... more or less the same, I would guess. It depends. We shall see.

Yeah, it's pretty hopeless to get these implemented into Continuum. (and yeah, they're client-side and while a bit could be done on the server, PriitK is the only server programmer also, so... heh) PriitK is the only programmer and he is more or less dead. On ther other hand, I am working on a recreation of this game, but that's going slow due to school, so don't hold up your hopes for anything anytime soon.
  22. Read what I said in my previous post...

Ok, drop the MS is good/bad discussion. I totally think MS's software quality generally owns everything else. But who cares, off-topic. The game will be MS-based for now. If, at a later stage, I see considerable support for a cross-playform version, it should not be too hard to change over since I'm already wrapping all the engines. .Net is probably the smartest program there is. GC is totally unnoticable and .Net can easily outperform native apps. As I said, I think MS's quality is very impressive.
  24. Yeah, that'd work. Or linking your computer with another computer and recording with one while playing on the other. This would work best. Other ways - yeah, they mostly suck
  25. A router is involved? Then port forwarding needs to be set up, yes. I forgot about that for a moment there Port forwarding really depends on the router model, so no definite help here but you can probably find all you need in the router's manual. You need to forward the server port and the next port (+1) to the LAN IP address of the server computer. Both ports are UDP (in case it asks whether it is UDP or TCP).
