  1. That's also a bad idea for another reason: it's too big of an idea! You see, it distracts people from flagging. That is bad. Very bad. Deva = flagging.
  2. Does it happen in any other zone? See the advanced options. There are lots of checkboxes there. Check any that you have problems with. If that does not work, try checking "Software emulation". You can try the other lower checkboxes too.

Ok, this stuff is going up soon (tomorrow, probably... )
  4. I know a lot of you have seen the screen filled with KOTH messages when everyone is spectating and away. Yeah, annoying. Still, when the game is active, it works more or less well, although... it gives very little points (20-40k or so to the winners every few minutes or so). Well, that might seem like an OK sum but there simply aren't that many winners. So the points are rarely given out at all. So... should KOTH be scrapped since it's useless? Or should the reward be increased? (I don't care... well I care, since I see the afk KOTH spam a lot, but in general, I want to know what you think)
  5. So, I started thinking... When the game is on, the JP message pops up every 5 minutes or so, so everyone is always aware of how big the jackpot is. A JP counter would always display it. The big questions are: do you want to know the exact jackpot every moment? Or are periodic rises better? Is the screen real estate for the counter worth it? Is there anything you gain from having the sum in front of you? Do you like to see how fast it rises? (I have no specific opinion, I just want to know your thoughts)

    Subspace v2

  10. No, opening of ports is not required and it would not even work well, if at all.

Don't delete the current version, though. I think I might like this one better
  12. Look at the feature list. You can play with it, I think.
  13. The descriptions are in the game's config menu. You *are* using the config menu, right? ESC+C in the game. You are not supposed to edit the cfg files with notepad.
  14. Exactly
  15. I've seen less people since my timezone is... incompatible I'm in the last year of high school and 18 years old at the moment. I've been working on coding specialized bots (including AI and other funky stuff) and other things, mostly unfinished. I've also !@#$%^&*isted some zones as co-sysop. My own zone is finished and rocks but offline and will probably remain so for the next few years. Right now, my major project that I'm working on when possible (not often, thanks to school) is my Subspace 2 project which I hope to release some time in 2006. And since Deva has started up, I've become head of dev, since there has to be someone who dares argue with X
  16. In other, much simpler words: the background is completely random.
  17. You can use a tunneling program. I haven't used one myself but I remember hearing about a few people using them. I don't know any specific programs, but Google might help with that. Basically, you have to set up a special proxy somewhere and then install a tunneling program on your proxy computer and your work computer. Of course if the firewall at your work happens to be very intelligent, it will most likely detect that even though the tunneler is on the web port, it's not really doing any web accesses.
  18. Let the trace run for an hour or so and then post the results. This trace was not long enough to be accurate.
  19. Trace looks fine. 0% is the correct packetloss number, those 94% are irrelevant. That could very well be it. The default lag kickout delay for zones is around 5 seconds. If your Continuum is loading the level data for longer than that (which seems to be the case), you will have been kicked out by the time it's done. To see exactly how long it takes, turn on caps lock and scroll lock before starting Continuum. Then it creates ssdebug.log in its directory with timed events about the level load. Perhaps some recently installed program has slowed your computer down beyond the critical time limit?

    KICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Interesting. The first two things you should try are: 1) Try swapping the wires of a working compuer with the non-working one at the router. If that has no effect: 2) Try another NIC in the problematic computer. Also, how much time passes between these two?
  24. I am a meat popsicle.
  25. Those should work fine. What exactly is the bot saying?
