    Subspace v2

Yeea, that won't be for a while. I've changed the schedule a bit and any graphics and sounds are at the very end No need to waste time on those if the project might not even be finished this decade
  2. Was everything enabled in dxdiag? Try newer drivers. If they dont' help, try *older* drivers. Some should work. Basically, the problem is probably that Continuum, as you know, is pretty old-fashioned. And some driver makers don't care much about making old-fashioned stuff work well always, so these sorts of things might have some bugs in order for the newer stuff to work better. Older drivers might help if newer ones don't.
  3. Keep on topic. Create a new thread if you want to discuss the merits and pitfalls of different bot cores. Tex, you got a second warning. Distort, come on, you're my buddy moderator, don't permit the topic to go off track
  4. We need more players -_-
  5. Some other program is stealing focus from Continuum. Close down everything else. Also, you can try playing in windowed mode, that should work.
  6. If it's only one server, nothing you can do. Although, it could just be some temporary internet problem. They happen. Usually they go away after a few weeks or a month, when some ISP technician stumbles upon the malfunctioning device.
  7. Do other games do this as well? Do start->run->dxdiag and see if anything is listed as disabled in the graphics tab. Try updating your motherboard drivers. How old is the computer? If it's very old, also update the motherboard BIOS (be careful with this, you have to use the right one or you'll nuke your computer).
  8. Yes, although the conflicts only seem to happen for some people, not all, so I wouldn't bet my head that it works, but it probably will. Norton and Avast AV have both worked fine for me. I recommend Avast Antivirus.
  9. Try disabling windows themes. They have sometimes caused some problems.

    controller

Does it read any other joystick you have? Have you actually enabled the joystick checkbox in the key config?
  11. Since the losers might really not like being swindled out of their juicy JP and might be drawn away from the zone by it, I was thinking that perhaps giving them 20% of the JP in credits might be good? Also, about the periodic credit giving. Should we keep it (at a much reduced level, of course. Say 1 million every 15 minutes)?

    Tileset

Something like some of these is needed, only 800% better
  13. A thousand monkeys is better than nothing, if we don't have Shakespeare himself
  14. And did you try other names? For example, afdhajfhiauofhuafohuoi?
  15. Yes, it means that you are lagging (lag means that your connection is bad). See the FAQ about "What is lag?" for more info. Basically, turn off any other programs that use the internet (especially download programs) and it might get better.
  16. WinME is almost the same as Win98. Anyway, it's verylikely that it's the zone's weird graphics. Try ?go or alt+tabbing.
  17. No, there isn't and probably won't be. The thingy agurus linked to is just a non-working test tool. Useless.
  18. From scratch? That would be unwise without some experience. But you might want to code plugins - they are the actual important things that bots work with. If you use Java then TWCore is the way to do. You should be able to find it on www.subspacedownloads.com.

    Lag limits

Because you're weird, I guess Or impatient <_< (it takes 10 minutes to warn or so)
  20. Sounds like an interesting thingy. Too bad I have no site to put a link on <_<
  21. Could use some enablation on .nfo files. People can't upload their system info.

    Lag limits

Ops get lag checked as well. Still want a password?

    Credit system

    Walla-walla
  24. Not necessarily. Many strange things can cause that error.
  25. Post in the SSC forum if you are banned. There are instructions on what to do there (basically, say your ban ID and people will check it out). Since we are having a lot of cheaters lately, unforunately many IP bans have to be made. Since IPs for big ISPs are dynamic, this does mean that some innocent players will be banned. Post in the SSC forum and the operators might exempt you from the ban if they believe that you are indeed innocent.
