  2. Holy moly, that's a lot of objects Hard to find anything wrong there, even if there is, indeed. What was the added object's image? What filename? Where did you add it? Was there much else there? Try removing say 1000 objects from random places, does it work now? Maybe there's some object limit that you're surp!@#$%^&*ed? Can you add objects to other places? Other objects?

  6. Yeah... I'm not sure whether it's from my modifications or the plugins themselves were done badly (more likely the former). Anyway, just remove all those mentioned enums (Chat_Modes, Ship_Types, ...) from spawn.h and it should work.

    Wel... most of the time, hackers get into your computer with trojans. Websites are not the best ways to get trojand but there may be some there. Downloaded files are the most likely source. Other than that, there are some bugs in Windows that let viruses hook themselves into the computer if you have an unpatched Windows and/or no firewall. Most definitely they do not attack your printer or such things But yeah, safe mode is a good way to get crap in IE, but unless your windows is not patched, it shouldn't have any other security holes open.

    Yes, Photoshop messes up BMP tilesets. Basically, they need a certain amount of colors (256, I think) in the color table but Photoshop optimizes them away if you use indexed colours. I've had partial success with manually setting 256 colors but I haven't really experimented with this a lot. Try another program maybe?

    Players are not going to play any elim without an op, that's for sure. But I'll see if I have time in the near future to implement some voting... I'm not too hopeful, though - it's not a pleasant change to implement.

    I certainly was not talking about events, but normal play. Of course I do agree that we don't have enough players to start enforcing such rules. Still, if it really bothers people, it can be enforced. But if there are no complaints or the jackpot is meaningless, an action by a moderator would only anger the player. And I definitely agree that an automated solution would just spawn some spec-and-enter-when-possible crap and just be a general nuisance. Also, slightly off-topic, but I totally hate 3-team games since they make the fight way too hard for the attackers in the already easy to defend bases. We will definitely have to stay with 2 teams for flagging before we have enough players to start experimenting.
  18. Current system seems to be working fine, I see no reason for change. That whoever said it was just jealous because you had so many points (Of course there is the issue that kill points are a tiny portion of the flag points. But Deva IS a flagging zone, so I think that's just fine)

  21. A change might hurt, bad! As an example, I can bring the now-dead zone Battlefield 2 which prospered with 40+ pop but then one day a new and flasy map style was brought in. Updated in every aspect, very modern. BAM! The population dropped like a stone. The zone went back to its low levels and eventually died due to other circumstances. But I'm willing to explore our options, even though I think EG and RS are some of the worst maps out there and I really get this weird feelign when you bring them up as examples Of course first we need a tileset that looks good. That's the biggest thing. After that, bases are not too hard... Now how to get the tileset....

    I think that's a bit too harsh, since players don't really like their freedoms limited. I think any enforcing of evenness should be done by moderators when there really is a big problem.
  23. Omigod, the game is today Wooh-ohohohooo! The first idea is super easy to implement. Second might take a few hours... X, you out there? What do you think? The second definitely needs some testing and tinkering before release but what about sticking the fast rising jp in there today? (Btw, I can't actually make it add bounty due to the big bounty problem but no matter - I can make it rise faster in any case )

    Thanks for the bible Well, private teams can be annoying, yes... how about we just limit privates to 3 per team? That'd remove the chance of them winning big games. Anyway, even if that problem is gone, the freqhopper question on pub freqs remains. Any bibles about that? The best option I see it would be: 3 per private team bot to record freqhops a warning or so, not very harsh except for real repeat offenders I am definitely against any team-evening bot since they just piss people off in low-player games. Some unevenness is not that bad.
