  1. First, see the FAQ topic about this. Follow the instructions there and tell us what the results are. Also, are the zones green? What are the pings? Does a 20-cycle trace show any packetloss?
  2. I remember I made one that did this a few years ago. No idea if it's available anywhere, though. Check the MGB forum archives, it may still be there, under the custom programs forum.
  3. The way I see it, Continuum is doomed just like SS was. I think I could make a twister replica in a week. That's what's wrong. PriitK did a fine job mangling the data in memory but he neglected some important parts. Because of that, [...] can easily access the data. And players are beginning to cheat in ever-increasing numbers. !@#$%^&*, I was able to make myself immortal in 2 minutes yesterday, on my first try. There is a simple fix. I would fix it, but I cannot imagine how I could convince PriitK to trust me with the code. If I were him, I sure as !@#$%^&* would never give it to anyone... The crashing/not loading problems are secondary but I'm sure they are also rather easily fixable. I considered showing up behind his door to have a chat, but he's not in the phone directory...
  4. Who cares? If I already have stuff to extract jsut about everything, why would I want some useless crap riddling my system just for some arrogant 7z file?? I hate this sort of thing...
  5. I skimmed it too but anyway, teamwork is definitely a nice thing but how are you going to achieve it? I find players most dumb and uncooperative most of the time
  6. *very* seriously.
  7. "Don't download it" is not good for distribution either
  8. Only server port and +1 is needed. If you use a router, you'll need to forward the port in it. How to do this depends on your router model. For server help, it's best to use the "Server help" forum that is linked from this forum. As for the problem, this is most likely due to certain networking peculiarities. What you should do is open up zone.dat in your Continuum directory with Notepad and edit the line where your zone is. Change the IP address there to 127.0.0.1 and it should work.

Yes, I agree that Continuum should officially be considered an abandoned game at this point. Anyway, great work on the problem, Maximas Glad to hear it worked out. The !@#$%^&* thing with this is that there are so many possible programs and DLLs... if only PriitK... meh.
  10. I would never have downloaded this without Mav's !@#$%^&*istance, so... yeah. 7z is not good for distribution!
  11. SS used to have mouse support, it was pretty useful once in a while. So definitely a possible idea. Why let the mouse go to waste <_<
  12. Sounds to me like a photoshop macro might do that?

Basically, there's only one person who can do this and he's not very interested in doing this...
  14. Did you try everything in the FAQ? Did you create a new user for Continuum?
  15. Bullet trails are one-pixel dots with colors from color.bm2 if I remember rightly.
  16. Aha! That's a nice one
  17. Can you navigate them with the keys? (press alt and then arrows) Weird problem, although it seems to be popping up a bit here and there...
  18. Only bad because of the 0.2 cents it'll cost in bandwidth I'm pretty sure that Continuum has out-of-order position packet correction, it'd be very easy to do.
  19. No, actually, there is no packetloss. It's the final packetloss that counts and if that is 0, there is none. My best guess is that it is the negative packetloss caused by your wirelss network. I'm thinking if a server receives two connection requests, it will first send a reply and then send another thinking you cancelled the first. However, Continuum receives the first reply and then tries to connect with the "overwritten" encryption key from the first server reply, which of course fails.
  20. Absolutely
  21. zoneselcolor1 = (255,0,255) ; makes zone selection bar bright purple ZONECOLOR1 Color for text and ping graph bars of zones with low ping. ZONECOLOR2 Color for text and ping graph bars of zones with medium ping. ZONECOLOR3 Color for text and ping graph bars of zones with high ping.
  22. Well, this is strange. Basically, negative packetloss is "good" packetloss and it should not matter at all (unless there's like 500% of it)... but it seems that it does... so all I can suggest is check your network. I've never used wireless myself, so I don't know how unplayable it is, but could be what Mav said.
  23. Mm... why not. I can see a few uses for this. Although there's little hope of Continuum ever supporting this...
  24. Public was never meant to be a portal... But anyway 2 zones listening to 1 port is different from 1 zone listening to two ports, so... you're talking of the wrong thing. Oh and I also do not get why this would ever be useful.
  25. That's bull and I don't want too see things like that in Tech Support anymore, Paine! I do not like your troublemaking tendencies. Anyway, is the problem constant? Are you unable to log in for 15 minutes or so? Or does it just pop up once now and then?
