  1. Try cleaning your system of spyware and reinstalling the latest drivers.
  2. What about the main menu UI (the zone list)? What features/changes could be done there?
  3. More often called the download button
  4. Well, I mean, it's not very useful if it'll become dominant in 2010... the features will not be used in that case
  5. "Run as" is not meant to work, really. However, did you try a different user?
  6. But when will it become dominant? After .39 (in 2010)? Still, good luck with your zone. I want to see some advanced !@#$%^&*-powered zones
  7. What the !@#$%^&* are you talking about? I didn't understand a word
  8. It could be some strange remnant of a driver or a partly-uninstalled program. This problem could easily be caused by things you don't even know exist on the computer... try uninstalling anything strange or any programs that might want to poke around with other programs.
  9. Any diagnostic programs would be useful. memtest86, prime95 are the most direct. Then there's generic crap like SiSoft Sandra - it has a few tests. Then of course there are programs like CPU Burn or something like that. And there are HDD testing programs as well.
  10. ctf.dll, yeah. You'll need to configure it somehow, I think. I haven't really investigated it closer, but that's how it works in MG. (or perhaps MG has got a new bot, not Catid's)
  11. I can't think of any country that has a civilian militia like this Maybe Switzerland but afaik that has not been attacked in a while. So yeah, this is all theoretical guesstimation
  12. Bryce, 3D studio max, Maya
  13. Could be a fried CPU, anyway You can try Prime95 to find any CPU errors. If it doesn't freeze first Anyway, do trial and error, run every kind of software you can think of and post what happens with as much details as possible.
  14. MonteZuma: how big is the active military in a country? 0.5% of the population? I don't really know. !@#$%^&*, even if it was as high as 10%, any potential invader would have to face up to 10 times as many armed people as normally. And a sizable portion will have served in the army at one point in their lives, so they wouldn't all be untrained. That would be a serious deterrent, I'd say. Simply the fact that the army could not easily move through major towns without razing them would help a great deal. They'd have to p!@#$%^&* many towns if moving on roads. And near all those would be armed people in the treeline and on high buildings, just waiting for the soldiers to pass.. Although I agree that in a modern western country, the chance of war is already so incredibly low that such a thing would not be needed.
  15. Did I understand you correctly? The cable goes into the modem, TV and monitor, yes? If that's the case, make sure that both the monitor and TV cables have filters on them. Otherwise, the internet signal to the modem could easily get distorted by the TV or monitor. That distortion would cause major packetloss which seems to be exactly what you're experiencing.
  16. Catid's CTF bot does it - basically, it takes the flag away if they warp.
  17. Well run it anyway! 10-20 minutes might be enough to find any errors You can try sticking a better fan + heatsink onto it if it really is overheating...

    HELP!!!

Try toggling the "avoid page flipping" or "no clipping" options in the advanced options dialog.
  19. Actually it costs more resources to load jpg/png/gif for Continuum. However, memory and resources are cheap so unless you're stupid enough to have 50MB of graphics, it's likely not to matter at all. The slowdown might be like 1-5% and only when loading them. If PriitK was not an idiot, there would be no difference at runtime.
  20. Do separate ships. Ship1.bm2 to ship8.bm2.
  21. Yeah, that's clientside, so can't do in current game.
  22. PSU should not matter at all. Does your computer have temperature sensors? What kind of a computer is it? Is it in a warm place? Why the fork is it hot? Does it have a fan + heatsink? What's the CPU? Are the mobo's chips hot? Do they have heatsinks? Try resetting the BIOS to defaults. Turn off all AGP acceleration options. Make sure the CPU and memory speeds are correct. On the whole, I would not recommend underclocking. Run memtest86 for 5-6 hours. See if it gives any errors. Yeah, yeah, you tried different memory - could be a crazy mobo. Run it anyway.
  23. Any one of these: The drive could be borked. Windows could be borked. BIOS could be playing tricks. Something else could be borked. No way to solve this but trial and error.
  24. I can see the usefulness of guns when law enforcement is slow and useless... but I hope that's not very weidespread. In other cases, however, I fear that if everyone had guns, criminals would just kill the victim instead of threatening him. That way, he can't shoot back. So this makes me lean a bit against guns. Those points aside, there's one major reason that makes me very pro-gun: protection from invasion by a foreign country. If everyone had a gun, it'd be !@#$%^&* difficult to invade the country without major losses. (Hey, I live right next to Russia! I'm scared! )

    Subspace v2

Well, for starters, VIE is dead. The code is who-knows-where (ok, someone knows). And why would they ever want to give their copyrighted property away? And of course, it would be totally useless since SS was a very crappily made little turd
