These kinds of problems always fix themselves. There's really nothing you can do. But you can do the trace anyway, it will show where exactly the problem lies on the internet.

Well, it certainly won't require 7.x on install if you just copy the files over And if it does, someone screwed up the installer. Continuum uses DirectX 3 if I remember correctly. Not sure about the audio... Hmm... I'll try to check... yeah, it uses DirectSound but you can turn sound off However, I discovered that it actually uses DirectDraw even if you enable software emulation... what kind of software emulation is that... wtf...

Very unsupported configuration, really... but I've heard rumors that someone has managed to do it. That's all I know though.

Mav: don't be so stuck with prejudice But anyway, I just tested it and Admin on 2000 works fine for me. I wish there was a bigger contigent of testers... but alas... or maybe someone who has way too much time with a virtual PC to test different configurations for a few weeks straight However, I can't see how one can say XP is not based on 2000 if even MS itself says it is... <_<

I have XP here. It has never crashed for me. Never. Therefore, Windows XP never crashes for anyone. Yes. Logical.

What server? Does it happen to all servers? Did you check the FAQ? Tell me what happens if you follow the steps in the FAQ.

Thanks for the new info. I'll add it to the FAQ. The exact reason of the problem is not known indeed but if disabling nosy software fixes it often then, well, that's what'll go down as the problem's source before the real one is found

No, I honestly have never heard of any "admin file". Do you perhaps mean the registry user-hive?

Nope, only Continuum can be used. I guess you're out of luck if you don't want to try what the FAQ says. You never know what might work in that case

So all the zones are red? Well, if you didn't install any new program when this happened and can surf the web, call your ISP. Maybe they have suddenly decided to block UDP traffic (which is what Continuum uses but not what the web uses).

Nope, you really can't use Subspace to play. Did you try everything suggested in the FAQ to make Continuum work?
