... How many people paid 3K for a non refundable ticket? Bwahahahahahhahahahahaha
  4. Don't we have a netop chat for this stuff? Oh yeah, it's super secret. Lawls. -L
  5. You're unfashionably late. -L
  6. And how would any of those people remedy this situation? (bear in mind that every time I've needed anything from SSC ban related, I've gotten it within 4 or so hours... Which is damn impressive) -L
  7. A true hacking situation? You can't be serious... Somebody pulled off a SQL injection, which shouldn't have happened if the security was better. Until we have people who are actively interested (or paid) to keep security vulnerabilities patched up, we'll always get hacked. SS websites and zones have been getting hacked for years DSB, Omega Fire and a lot of the time when we actually had more population, hence more net ops to ban. Anywho, even ignoring all that... Who would you like to see as a netop? -Lynx
  8. Encryption doesn't make you safe when you're actually encrypting the files, but that's not the kind of encryption that happens when you download. Instead, each packet is encrypted so DPI cannot take place, which is completely different. In that case, the police would have to decrypt my torrent client, by which time the key issued would then be out of date. For the record, DPI = Deep Packet Inspection, what is sometimes (rarely) used to catch downloaders. More often, the RIAA (or whoever) will seed a file to get your IP, then demand that IPs information from your ISP (who shouldn't give it - and the courts *should* ignore these requests due to privacy infringements/other legality issues). You can workaround this by only downloading from trusted peers (I don't know if this is available for you Windoze folk, but it's available for a Mac Torrent client called Transmission.) As for encrypting my files on my computer - that's completely pointless. I don't have to show how I purchased each piece of software/music/film to prove my innocence, they have to show that I've downloaded a file illegally to prove my guilt. Either way, if you research you shouldn't need to worry about getting caught for downloading. There are a lot of tricks to keep you under the radar, for the most part - but it's not impossible to get caught, however... I never said it was. -Lynx Oh, and hypnotherapy for downloaded files... I don't think so. -Lynx
  9. .. If we're forgetting what Mike originally said, that the whole reason this got so far is just a break of procedure. -L
  10. I saw it yesterday... It was.. $$$
  11. Why isn't Continuum on the Games section.. Well.. I don't blame you either. -Lynx
  12. That website is very fancy now, good job Op2... I never played the game though. -Lynx
  13. That reply is nonsensical. I'm harsh, because these (public) forums drive players like him to carry on doing what he's doing. -Lynx
  14. Why do you need to hear Polix's opinion on this? Why does it matter? Polix is just another player, and his opinion is just as moot as yours or mine. The system isn't perfect, and it's run by a few people who aren't often online... But who's going to be the next person to get SSC? From what I can tell, the people who I'd like to see with SSC aren't really interested, and the others probably wouldn't get it because they don't get along with the current SSC members, so the vote would automatically be bias. This guy doing all this 'hacking' is a newb. He tried to send a hack which is completely fucking useless (i.e. it doesn't work, I've checked) and is completely outdated, AND requires a previous hacking tool to be installed on the infected machine. Furthermore, if anybody believes a private message saying 'Hey, change your password to Temp1' then they should be hacked for being a ultra-tard, and furthermore it should have all been settled by a few arena messages. Oh, and I wonder how he'd find out who's password has been changed, and who's hasn't? I mean, his whole method is retarded from the start, and we should just laugh at him. I'm sure he was laughing at the way that you're making a fuss out of it, at the end of the day - that's the only thing that's thriving him to keep doing what he's doing. The best tactic is to resolve, ban, and keep a note. These threads do nothing more than cause whoever to do what they done again, and maybe next time do a better job of it. The SQL injection was a pretty big exploit, but the fact that it was kept under covers is a good thing - because it prevents the exploiter from keeping interest in doing such activities. In my opinion, this whole topic should be closed. You want to hear the SSC is full of elitest men who don't spend enough time on the game, then you've heard it... You hear it pretty much every time SSC is mentioned, but parading it here doesn't do much. This is the internet, if you want anything - kiss ass, or do something productive yourself. Everything else is pointless and a waste of time and emotion. -Lynx
  15. It's a free game, having somebody online who can always make a ban is possible - but not easy. I'm surprised that Pure_Luck can't create netbans, though. Either way, it's not like these newbs done much damage - they successfully spammed a load of tripe messages, which could easily be nulled by a zone message in all zones effected - so ... Meh? As to linking to a virus, again... Meh... Same process applies, find their information, and ban them. They'll evade, and they'll be back, but then we ban again. Fortunately, it takes longer to evade than it does to ban. -L

The first 10 seconds of that video were extremely painful, but I managed to watch the whole thing out of curiosity. *Downloads the MP3* -Lynx
  17. Why choose Purge, he don't develop nomore. -L
  18. The only reason forums are dead is because there's nothing to talk about. I'd much rather do my trash talking with true idiots on facebook, it's much more entertaining. -Lynx
  19. How will they know that it's illegal? -Lynx ps. I'm getting Prototype next week on XBox, can't fucking wait. -L
  20. Downloading is illegal in the UK, but there's a matter of proving that you actually downloaded something. Provided you encrypt, you'll always be fine. -Lynx
  21. Way to be condescending. -L
  22. Heh, this never appeared in my search. Odd.
  23. Oh shit, there's already a page? I just saw a lot of groups, admittedly a lot of them very popular, however groups don't allow updates etc. I literally made it this minute. -Lynx
  24. Click here to become a fan of the Subspace/Continuum Facebook page. If you want to be an admin of the page, just send me your name in a private message or publicly, and I'll add you. There is an events section that zone hosts could use to advertise their zone events further. If you use Facebook, join up and help it's popularity. -Lynx
  25. Mm, it's not a matter of uploading/downloading. It's a matter of how well you can handle a record industries allegations. -Lynx
