  4. Or it could be the pickups, do you know any good Guitar forums - they'd probably be your best bet.
  5. I would assume that they like their resumes to be send in with their format so they can easily compare them?

  7. Does anybody use the current nav bar?
  8. iPhone uses Objective C - so if you're writing Discretion in C you can compile it on the iPhone. Each app is sandboxed to its own directory (although I can't remember how they're listed). They can read and write to files within their sandbox, and you can request permission from the user to read from other applications or utilities on the phone. I don't know about TCP/UDP on the iPhone, I would assume so. OpenGL ES is used on the iPhone.
  9. This doesn't surprise me at all. The majority of most countries don't know anything about politics, not just black people.
  10. You can run the registry editor by typing "wine regedit" into the terminal. From there, you'll be able to import/export registry keys - so in theory you can export your password registry keys from your Windows computer, save them somewhere then import them into regedit on wine. That tutorial I wrote is quite antiquated, and I wrote it when I wasn't too sure what Continuum needed to run. It should run fine without bison, ftgl, libpng and xrender. If the messy package (autoconf I believe) is being called by any of those three packages you should be fine but knowing how much of a pain freetype can be, I'd bet it's probably coming from there. If you're all using OS X 10.6 you can just install wine from your favourite package manager, navigate to the location of kernel32.dll.dylib (I think OSX uses dylibs, I forget) - then share that between you guys. You'll still need fontforge, freetype (for rendering fonts) and xorg to display the windows, though. If you're having a lot of trouble with a package manager, then you can always install the packages from source, too.
  11. This is a non-religious matter. Whether the counsellor is a bible basher or not is completely redundant in the matter, and what your mum thinks is also of zero importance. Instead of spending another 200 bucks on a game hosting tool for a game that's dead - spend it on a counsellor. That shit is more important.
  12. Stop being a little bitch. Man up, get laid, get a hobby, get counselling, something other than trying to get advice from a bunch of unqualified, unprofessional anonymous people on the internet. You're not half as mature as you think you are, and mutilation is anything but logical, pragmatic or a good idea. This thread just makes my sack shrivel.
  13. Why not let the DJ choose what's appropriate and what's not, this has been the thing which has consistently beaten this dead horse further. Just provide the hosting, and let the DJs find what zones want to jump on board, and the zones can select their own regulations. It's just kinda stupid for you (no offence) to be picking and choosing rules seeing as you're just a host. All you need to provide is the bandwidth, a UI, some tools and whatever else makes things easier for the DJ.
  14. Here's a tutorial I wrote
  15. Given the disposition you've shown thus far, just... don't go anywhere near any loaded guns.

  19. Well. L.C. has clearly gone fucking bonkers, who's calling social services?
  20. Naw, that's fine. Purge has said that I can use the settings and map files so I am happy. Thanks for the offer, though.
  21. Well, being that presumptuous has never really got anybody far. BP has a lot of companies under it's umbrella, and unless somebody has some facts (which I doubt anybody has on the above matter, as even if they did have the facts they'd probably be private anyway) - it's not something worth conversing.
  22. Hi, I am not sure who's managing, or owning this zone now. Whether it's Russky, Purge or whatever but I do know the zone has been left stagnant. I'm currently working on an asss project, and if possible I'd like to use the zones files (maps, settings and graphics) as I used to play there and enjoyed the gameplay. If anything, it will be an attempt to restore the zone to its former glory (as the gameplay will be typically unaffected). Cheers.
  23. So you hate Apple, who make high quality products, because you hate their users? Here's my rant: I like Apple, just as much as I like Windows and just as much as I like Linux. I typically find that OSX is the most usable operating system. It feels a lot more responsive than any Windows or Linux set-up I've ever used, typically because everything seems to be set-up in a more logical way. The small things like Exposé, Spotlight, Preview really do make a huge difference. Aside from the compatibility issues (which really is a big, big issue) OSX is my favourite operating system. However, proprietary systems are junk, and the applications that Apple typically provide leave you in a 'locked in' scenario. For example, Apple has an excellent tool called 'Backup' which really needs no introduction. It has excellent options for your backups, and it encrypts anything you backup. All these things I thought were great, however I was very wrong. I sold my Macbook around Jan, for £750. I was aiming to buy a 27" iMac, which I do think is a great machine, however... I'm a student, and I went out on a night out one too many times, had one too many beers and ended up over spending which threw the iMac idea out of the window. It wasn't until last week that I went back to a Windows solution, however until then I was stuck with a Linux machine (I've been using Arch Linux since I sold the Mac), and had NO way of getting my software, files, documents, music and videos back until I got another Mac. Apple doesn't have the courtesy to write the Backup application for any other platform, and as all backups are encrypted, nobody else can (or will). I also use MobileMe, an Apple service for E-Mail, Calenders and Contacts syncing (I use an iPhone). IF you have a Mac, this is an excellent service. If you don't, it's nothing better than the free services from Google or the like. The software available for Windows is terrible compared to what you find on the Mac system. Other than that kind of ranting (I could give many more proprietary scenarios), I found that the Mac hardware, and it's software were excellent. I agree, it's over priced, but it's good quality hardware and software. I doubt I'll be going back to buying anything Apple again though. I currently have a Dell XPS 8100, which is equipped with a Corei7 860, 8GB RAM, 2GB HDD, 1GB NVidia GTS graphics card. Just running OSX in a virtual machine via hackintosh is faster, and more responsive than my old MacBook Pro (Core2Duo, 4GB RAM). I'd tell anybody I know from now, never buy a Mac. They're not cost effective. A newer model will be out in a matter of months, and every bit of hardware is always lagging due to Apples greed. I believe, personally, it's a matter of time before the Apple cookie crumbles. Look at the case of the iPad, and the iPhone 4. The reception issues of the iPhone 4 were trivial, however Apple are expected to have an update every year - and that has cost their reputation a huge blow. Even the iPad, as the rumour mill started spinning, Apple were probably left rushed to release it. Now there are hundreds of reports of the iPad overheating. The iMac 27" had hundreds of complaints due to faulty screens. And back to the greed rant, every bit of hardware will always be lacking a crucial feature, which of course will be released the following year. If you're like me, and you like the operating system - hackint0sh. If you do like the hardware, think before you buy. However, to the flocks of people who hop on the "I hate Apple, it's retarded" bandwagon - you're all morons. The operating system is a UNIX architecture (darwin), with the Aqua (or whatever it's called now) window manager. It's a easy to use operating system, but by no means does that mean it's not powerful. The kernel is open source, and you can compile it yourself. The window manager, as you'd expect, is closed source. In terms of power, OSX is just as powerful as any Linux operating system so the "I like to know what my computer is doing/when it crashes it just pinwheels" argument is bollocks. Anyway, enough waffling with this rant.... you get my drift. Saying you hate the Apple followers is just as logical as me saying I hate you because you hate the apple followers.

  25. I've got an awful lot of spare time nowadays, so I can help with whatever you need... Make a post, if you've got the time, listing the things you'd like to see done. I'm sure a lot of people will be willing to help out. For me anyway, I'm very impressed with the way things are currently. SSGN is now active, the forums seem slightly more active that what they used to be. Kudos to you.
