The UAW President now primarily controls the fate of the members of the UAW and the future success of Ford, GM, and Chrysler -- to put it bluntly. Now, with wages at all three automakers nearing $75 per hour, the UAW will be negotiating it's own life in talks with the big three. I will never join a union and it's truly a shame to know or see anyone who is part of one. Any union is operated by one or more top officers who receive compensation only for being the top of that union! This !@#$%^&*le, UAW President, is one that has very little interest in the success of the motor companies which it operates. If the union workers at Ford, GM, and Chrysler operate in similar fashion to other unions, most of the workers there do VERY LITTLE towards the business goals. They simply collect a paycheck and count the years until retirement. All in all, it will be those very people who demand social security benefits well into their late years in life and will probably form some type of Social security union which impacts the very tax we all pay on a monthly basis similar to the way the unions operate now. As for Ford, GM, and Chrysler, I feel sad. Although I have never purchased a new American automobile, I can understand why their vehicles have always been sub-rate and of poor design. We call these three automakers - American. IF that's true, the last 40 years reflect nothing but the deepest misguided lack of true American spirit ever known. Let them fade into nothingness - they are NOT Americans that I know. I'll never consider UNION people to be anything but the worthless animals they are.

chop - every time a new map comes out there are going to be people who like it and people who dont like it. i made this map thread primarily so that the people who dont like what is being proposed can suggest changes before we finalize it. if you can be more specific about what you dont like about the new map layout or maybe what you like about the old map we can try to make changes that might make you a little happier before the map is done. secret portals people - what you guys are talking about is something that has more to do with brain coding it rather than the map design. perhaps a seperate thread about that idea would be worthwhile. I'm going to post an update to the new map layout soon. major changes include the addition of the ID tunnel, smaller center area and change to the soccer tunnel idea.

Has anyone ever suggested that we have a system of squad rentals? For example: let's say I owned a squad and I wanted to bring in good members but maybe they dont have good ships. If there is a squad rental system, I could 'own' ships that i rent to members of my squad - rather than just giving them money which they just take, sell their ship and leave my squad.

tiger - that's a pretty cool idea and we 'could' change the map slightly to accomodate it, but i think most of the implementation of that idea would need to come from new programming on brain's side. check with him - maybe he hasn't read your idea and you could talk it out. neb - neat idea - with lvz, we can produce any type of animation and affix it to the map.

Excellent feedback everyone! I can see where a little variety would be better than having just one unified look - that's something that is different about HS vs other flagging zones. For things that are missing, please make suggestions for their locations and/or design changes that might work well. Here are some of the tilesets. if you like to make tilesets, feel free to pull together a few of these and build the ultimate 'hybrid" tileset for HS. Yah, saw it - its got some neat knock-off ideas on it but I couldn't care less for zones that are simulations of current major games. I'm thinking about trying a new tileset - part of the one that i did for the new OF (pipes) and part new. I have a huge platform of 5-6 tilesets that I'm using for ideas. As for the hypertunnels, I think some players want a mix up of tunnels, but brain has asked me not to make major modifications from the existing surrounding square configuration because it costs a lot of programming time and takes away from what he can....'control'.

The map design shown is moreover for abstract ideas to come to fruition. Perhaps the circles could be stores, or maybe goals. The tunnels - perhaps diagonal if they fit the overall design. As more ideas pour in I'll try to encomp!@#$%^&* them into the layout design. When I get closer to the final layout I'll post it here.

NEW BASES/LVZ/TILES can be sent to my email: s!@#$%^&*@omega-fire.com Ok folks - after many months of using the current map, Dr Brain has graciously permitted Quigy and I to begin seriously working on a new map with a whole new layout! This means lots of work for Dr Brain as well as everyone involved in the final design - so be patient, we're going to try to get it right the first time. Having said that, here's what I know so far. Quig and I have a basic layout designed on a bitmap image. (see below) We have also picked out a tileset that was once used by EG. Ratio and Pointman have given me exclusive permission to use this tileset for hyperspace. The sample is here I've begun to collect bases from zone players. Having made a few bases and base changes to current bases, I think Quig and I have a better idea what players want - tight, defensively strategic, good looking bases. It's going to take a few tries to get each base right so we'll need various people to help out with testing possible bases. If you want to get involved in the new map, here's what you can do. 1. If you have a base you want to use on the new map, give it to me or Q in zone. Do this by pm'ing us then use the /?sendfile {filename} command. 2. We need a new center. This 'could' be a slightly modified version of the existing center, or something more graphically pleasing, or perhaps more technical. Dr Brain has asked that the new center include a tunnel to a small fighting area nearby. This is commonly done in EG and other zones. 3. Tilesetters are always welcomed. As we get new bases we'll need to tile them. If you want to tile a base let us know on this thread....we'll look you up when a base becomes approved for use in the new map. 4. Hypertunnel background is needed. The current background on the tunnels is a sophisticated blended image that does a great job of hiding sneaky mines and bombs. Players have mixed feelings about it - we need a new background - can you design one? 5. Other random objects will be needed. If you have an idea for the design of a store, a new HS logo, or something not mentioned but useful to the zone, post it here for consideration. Great ideas can make the zone even better! Great movie, probably worth seeing twice in the theatres. I'm just waiting for some idiot to come out with a transformer's zone and claim that if they attach some type of copyright it becomes their own property. Hosts who host zones with illegally copied material should inquire about the legality of those zones.

If you like, you can use the Omega Fire tilesets since map 10. I'll post them here when i have a chance. Also - I know TJ made a tileset for T3G which I thought was very nice - you might want to ask him about that one.

ah tt, you're all talk muahaha (jk; i have no idea) i've noticed that through this conversation cerium has exposes his uberly-anal side of things. although i agree that thieves suck, it seems that you have some type of vengence to take out on chambahs. as for chamb - lol, i'll just lololol
