Ok guys - this is helpful (excepting cerium and chamb ugh) I worked on some logos for the name Sector 9 - nothing really struck me as good...so I'll continue working on that. Seems like it should be more than just sector 9 -- like Sector 9: Welts and Bruises! as suggested by soccerman. What little name could go on there - we dont have to add it to the name, but this is like those games like Solder of Fortune II: bleh bleh bleh....u get it? Umm, cerium - my two cents is this (not that its really going to help) but as for chamb stealing everything- i dont think he stole it but rather got someone to help him build it - which is much like what i'm doing here by asking for help to name my zone. It's ok ya know if people ask for help - great wise men often quote "Whatever success you've had, someone helped you get there". So kudos to chamb and his gang for getting the idea together and getting smong to help out. As for stealing the whole UT theme - i've already rousted him a lot on that and i'm backing down since it doesn't have to be said anymore and i dont want to lose friendships over it.

lol chamb, ricochet - hmm to smong's appeal, i once had a zone called M6 But hmm, Sector 9 - hmm, simple and spicy altogether - like buffalo wings and beer! Dav, what zone do you play in? I'm going to beat you with a large pasta noodle!

I'm at one of those non-creative points on this zone name thing and thought the ss community could help. I'm working on a paintball zone which might turn into CTF like old paintball zones or it might turn into flagging or perhaps even turf. I dont really know yet and I'm working on so many things my brain has gone into shutdown. Can you help me by suggesting a few good names for a paintball zone? Thanks!

Ok both nice objects, good work. I'm really looking for a top down view and something to compliment a tileset - lvz maybe. The look that UT zone has is good but probably all stolen - that type of tileset is more along the lines of what i'm looking for. :/

Could someone generate some images from a top-down view that could be used to decorate the inside of a castle/dungeon? Preferrably nothing GOTH or demon looking - instead, something technical or design worthy.

Use indexed colors and png conversion to fix that close to black problem.

If you want to use one or two simple colored blocks and design a nice map, i can design the tileset after the map is done. (Change in requirements)

This one should be well known by our 'cheater' community. Since I am not fully informed, I need to know the technical truth. In CTM 0.39, can all graphics be overridden by a player? For instance, can a player override a zone's shipset if that zone had created an lvz file which included File=ship1.png (etc for rest of ships)? My understanding is that the ctm client was designed so that this is always the case - but here's what i've done to try to override with no success: [after clearing the 'Use Optional levels graphics and sound' option on the game client] 1. I've moved ships.bm2 into the zone folder of the zone i'm in. Still - ships are what the zone owner made in their lvz file. 2. I've moved ships.bm2 into my root continuum folder. Same - no override. 3. I've create ship1.png in my graphics folder to see if it would override ship1 from that zone - no dice. Is there any way to override the ships in the zone? I'm not looking to cheat - matter of fact, i'm looking to see if my zone's ships will always be my zone's ships regardless of what a player tries to do to override it. Also - if no override on ships is possible what about other graphics? Thanks for your help.

Ok, following the better advice of fellow subspacers and in addition to the beautiful castle map that Yavaris designed, I would like someone to construct a CTF map using the following guidelines: Teams will probably be squads of 3-6 players per side. Generally, a smaller map. The grounds will primarily consist of grass (see below) Optional obstacles and/or alternative pathways - however, leave enough open space for snipers and machine gunners to employ fields of fire. Perhaps alternative routes would be on the sides and not near the center of the map. Generally design walls 1-2 tiles thick. The map should generally be symetrical but try to keep it exciting. If you can leave your safe and shoot directly across to kill the nme that would be bad. Change things up a little. If you design this, please apply acceptable design rules including: Do not use a map from another zone. Do not use tilesets from another zone unless you have exclusive permission. Do not use special tiles. Optionally, here are some ideas that could spice up the design: use wormholes to add areas where players could speed through from one point to the next - like HS's tunnels. use safeties in areas around the map so players can rest. Add 2x2 square tile areas representing tree stumps. I have tree graphics. Yah, that might have come across wrong, lol! I think Q is saying he doesn't want to design more bases because people give him a really hard time about it - coincidentally that's why I asked him to post these changes for all to .... review... If you want to make a base A, I'm sure Q will find time in his schedule to look at it.

Base 5 is too tight and easy to defend - flagging is really just a matter of people sitting on a bombline... not much compe!@#$%^&*ion as evidenced by the large percentage of use over the other bases. Not to worry, Q posted the modifications so people could comment/alter them. Feel free to make some changes and send them to Q. Any alteration could be good for the zone.

Great work, very nice indeed! This map sets up a neat scenario for the zone and some interesting game play. Great work Yavaris. Ok, Aquarius - if you have a tileset, partial or otherwise, please feel free to tile as much as you want and post it.

Not yet Aquarius, lets see what new stuff Yavaris adds in (I'm sure it will be great!) and then I will probably add my own tweaks to fit the zone style. After that I will definitely like help!

Ideally I wanted several mappers to bring different ideas to fruition; if you would like to create a map or maybe add customizations to the map that yavaris made, that would be great!
