I can't think of a nicer, more gentle person to be owned by then Cerium. The mere fact that I even get to play in his presence is enough to make my bullet proof pee pee just wain for hist bountiful love! Somedays, I just stand beside myself thinking, "Self, why are you not Cerium? And why has God made only 1 of them?". NOT! hahahaha

I dont think that threatening for a raise is the right approach. What happens if they give in and give you the raise - you earned it on threats which puts you at direct odds with management. This is exactly what union employees do and in my mind that is the wrong way to keep a job. Of course, I'd prefer to see most unions be broken and abolished but that's a different story.

I think there is some research that indicates that you can 'prepare' for an IQ test simply by taking IQ tests. Your brain starts to recognize patterns, logical thinking replaces the drug-infested scatter-brained feebleness and you actually improve as you go. If you want to score high, take the test several times - generally you should improve 10-15%. I didn't take it. Sorry. However, if I had to guess, I think certain groups of people would score better than others. Those groups being - zone owners who have successfully grown population against the odds (Blazen, Adm. Kirk, etc), coders who have made significant contribution to ss (Ratio, Smong, Bak, etc) and graphic artists who have also made significant contributions (Wormhole Surfer, Anaconda & Legas, Kryn, etc). Folks scoring on the opposite side probably dont play ss as I believe much of the population of ss is fairly gifted.

Is it really a matter of trying to control population? I think it's more about setting the spirit of the zone so people don't feel so hostile. Hopefully folks who have problems controlling their temper can bite their proverbial tongue and keep it cool in Hyperspace.

I like brainchild's rule - it keeps the zone away (somewhat) from the large amount of hostility you see in other zones.

Of all the ideas on this forum, this takes the cake for being the bottom of the barrel worst ever.

I like the last one which is unfinished but the tiles look common. I'm trying to steer us away from building a map which looks like it belongs in TW (e.g. tiles without meaning and just switching colors). Generally we need tiles that fit a 2-tile+ wall pattern which is why the stone tiles work well (but need to go).

Good point. I created this layout using mspaint then converted it to a lvl file using facts. Having said that, I didn't take a lot of time on the details like obstacles in the center or a well defined center safety. Aquarius is willing to donate his time to produce a very nice tileset for us and when that comes along we'll add more definitive touches to the map. Thanks for the feedback folks - keep it coming.

I think it is almost impossible to get a raise. I mean, unless you are a superstar, why does any company have any reason to give me more than the annual crappy 2% raise? I'm so foolish for going into a job knowing that I'm going to get paid lower than what I want but thinking and hoping that I'll get a raise in 90 days. That's just absurd!

This is particularly philisophical: And if they are targeting certain individuals, it is for one reason: those individuals represent that which the "racists" fear, but want to be. I have to ponder it as I'm not racist, have to test it against other factors. Hmm. Yes, I think you are right about that...that seems to be clearly the reason for so much hate. But it doesn't explain something: why does a teenage kid vandalize, spam, or harm other kids (usually much younger) for apparently no reason? Does this philosophy cover that? I think there is a breed of people who are naturally born as bad for society....but I dunno.

haha, more population for other zones - but wait, if DS bans its pop, that means that the bots will start playing other zones?

for what reason does someone feel like they need to spat out racism? those types are clearly seeking attention and cannot express themselves in any other way than to show their truly sad lack of wisdom. Generally i've found that people like that become infectious to a zone - one starts it then others think that it is ok to spat out obscenities and basically the chat goes to !@#$%^&*. outside of being angry for losing, dying, getting lamed or whatever, why cant people just stop with the attention seeking words and focus on chattin it up with their pals. I dont care about the "mostly bot-population" DS zone, but it looks like the staff did the right thing.
