  1. Yes yes, I'm aware that you wouldn't. Back to the topic please. But since you brought it up, what type of government would you like? Monarchy? Communism? Maybe we can just have martial law for those opposed to the new reigning reform? Got any more links for me?
  2. No, not really any more than I'd call the US government totalitarian. But, then, Bush doesn't really care about reform. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ROFL, Akai, you're joking right? Bush reformed Medicare for millions of Americans. In 2006 Bush's budget will provide $1.5 billion in funding for a education reform in high schools. He is actively trying to reform social security so younger people actually get a chunk of the money they are paying out to elders. Dude, just leave the forum please. I even used your own link to prove my statements.
  3. Ophie, do us a favor and stick to the subject. I've made no such claim of being new moderator. Thanks. Yes, you will have to read your history and there it will be, black and white. I have stated that I read it directly from a link that Akai provided. Thanks Akai. While Canadians are so quick to jump on this subject, perhaps they should consider that their country helped engineer a coup d'etat against Jean-Bertrand Aristide in Haiti. In fact, the topic of regime change in that impoverished Caribbean country was discussed at a January 2003 conference of la francophonie in Ottawa. The government of Haiti was not invited. Regarding the 2002 campaign against Chavez, Canada had revealed no official statement against the coup, though the government in Ottawa did stop short of endorsing (the real naked emperor) Pedro Carmona, the big business leader and president for 48 hours Now, I ask you to consider what might happen going forward. Or if you like we can just sit here and throw dirt at each other.
  4. As I said, I'm not relying on links. I have presented the facts. The Columbian government and several neighboring countries have accused Chavez of supporting the FARC. Genocide part is simple. When land owners feel like they are getting screwed by other military, they will use force to protect their land. In retaliation, Chavez may order his military to take action. When that happens, people die. Surely he's not doing it through rallies and commoner protests. What would you like to call his form of government. Thanks for that link Akai where it states that he set up his own "emergency committe" to preside over the existing congress whom he then evicted from office. He set up things his way and did not use the existing legistlative system in place. Now, if you saw Bush do that, surely you would jump to the conclusion that he was a totalitarialist. You can see it for what you want, however, what do you think will happen?
  5. We are in the precursor of any type of action from either the UN or the USA. Yes, I'm talking about Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and his new order over the people of that country. Apparently Chavez has moved into power over the past decade after first attempting to overthrow democracy existing in the country for over 50 years via a coup. Imprisoned for two years, he went through the political system and got elected afterwards by catering to the poor people of Venezuela. As it stands now, Chavez has put his people in charge of the Supreme Court of Venezuela and over policing and military authority there as well. With this authority, he has taken war with large land owners and international interest by allowing peasants to stake claim to any land that they can grab regardless of whom the rightful owners are. Peasants are setting up bamboo huts on wealthy land owners property and they are being defended by the Venezuelan national guard controlled in large by Chavez himself. Being the 5th largest exporter of oil to the US, Chavez has used his $50 per barrel lottery to purchase numerous munitions from the Russians including several MiG jets with unknown reason. Now, before we see anyone take action I urge you to help me understand what you think should happen. Do you think nothing should change and let the country move away from the 50 year democratic system that was in place by giving totalitarian rule to Chavez to oppress the rich? Should the UN investigate the actions of Chavez in the possibility that he is committing active genocide against land owners? Should the US intervene by creating sanctions on Chavez to stop the influx of cash riding into Venezuela through oil? Should support be given to the Columbians to prevent Chavez from using Russian purchased munitions against that country and building an inner-Columbian coup which could distrupt trade throughout that region? Columbia government is fighting internally as it stands. PLEASE DO NOT POST URL LINKS. They serve no purpose. Go out to sources on the web, newspapers, etc, and create an opinion and back it with your understanding of the situation. Thanks.
  6. Sorry for the caps. I was a posting angry. I'll try to refrain from doing that. my bad.
  7. The problem with the US is it believs that all nations should be democratic. When it comes down to it some nations are happy as they are or it will be more benifitial to leave them. THE USA DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT ALL NATIONS SHOULD BE DEMOCRATIC. WHAT IS THE BASIS FOR THAT STATEMENT? BECAUSE WE WENT TO IRAQ AND OUSTED SADDAM AND REPLACED IT WITH A SYSTEM OF ELECTED OFFICIALS? OK, I SUPPOSE THAT YOU WILL SAY THAT WE WERE IN BOSNIA FOR DEMOCRACY, AND PANAMA, SOMALIA, FIGHTING FOR KUWAIT IN 1991, SUDAN, ETC. THE US DOES HAVE A TRUE AND TRIED SYSTEM OF DEMOCRACY, DUE PROCESS FOR CRIMINALS, AND MANY OTHER SYSTEMS IN PLACE. HOWEVER, WHEN WE SEND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN AID TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES EVERYWHERE DO WE SAY, HERE'S OUR MONEY FROM THE SWEAT OF OUR BACKS, YOU GET IT ONLY IF YOU TURN TO DEMOCRACY? I SUPPOSE THAT WE SHOULD BEGIN BY FORCING OUR NEIGHBORS CANADA AND MEXICO TO ABANDON THEIR WAYS AND FOLLOW US. THIS IS PRECISELY WHY I SAID YOU STATED CONJECTURE. Thanks to the neo-conservativs for that one. DEMOCRACY WAS A PART OF THIS COUNTRY FROM THE VERY START, IT WASN'T JUST INVENTED AS YOU SEEM TO CLAIM, BY A SINGLE GROUP. IT IS THIS VERY FUNDAMENTAL PART OF OUR SYSTEM THAT BOTH WINGS OF GOVERNMENT AGREE WITH. THERE IS NOTHING BUT IRRELEVANCE TO DAV'S STATEMENT THERE. Russia is the prefect example, the cold war was a waste of time. The fall of communism came from within. A WASTE OF TIME???? HOW CAN YOU PUT THE RESOLVE OF NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST IN A BUCKET CALLED WASTE OF TIME. I'LL assume THAT YOUR POINT HERE IS THAT THE USSR BUILT IT'S massive WEAPONS CACHE IN RESPONSE TO US NUCLEAR THREAT THUS STARTING THE COLD WAR. IF THAT WAS THE CASE, WHICH IT WASN'T, YOUR ARGUMENT OF BEING A WASTE OF TIME IS PREDICATED ON THE FACT THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN EXIST THEN AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CIR!@#$%^&*STANCES WERE THAT LED TO THAT ERA. MORE CONJECTURE. In the case of iraq, it may have been under the dictatorship of saddam (we all agree not a good thing) however the current problems werent there. THIS IS THE MOST IGNORANT STATEMENT OF ALL HERE. YES, THE PROBLEMS CHANGED SINCE THE US OUSTED SADDAM, BUT THE PROBLEMS BETWEEN SHIITE AND SUNNI MUSLIMS IN IRAQ EXISTED SINCE LONG LONG BEFORE YOUR PRESENCE IN THIS WORLD DAV. IF YOU LOOK UP HISTORY, YOU WILL SEE THAT THE US BACKED SADDAM HUSSEIN AGAINST THE AYATOLLA OF IRAN IN THE LATE 70'S. FOLLOWING THAT, SADDAM HUSSEIN WENT NORTH AND ANNIHILATED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF KURDS LIVING IN IRAQ. HE DID THIS FOR MORE THAN 25 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK INTO THE EYES OF A SHIITE MUSLIM AND PERHAPS YOU WILL PONDER WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE LIVING UNDER THE RULE OF SADDAM. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED DUDE. IS THAT WHAT YOU CALLED ME OUT FOR? NOW I NOT ONLY TOLD YOU ONCE THAT HIS CRAP IS NOTHING BUT CONJECTURE, YOU MADE ME MAKE AN !@#$%^&* OF HIS POSTING.
  8. You have no valid argument ophie. As I clearly stated from the start, everything you say is conjecture. Nothing intellectual can be said about someone who just pontificates. You lost credibility with those posts, and you continue to lose this battle attempting to validate them. Sadly I'll have to let you go. You are truly ignorant of facts and since I don't care to dwell amidst your media-ridden opinion of things like the cold war, and things that happened before you were born. When you have educated yourself, I will engage in a discussion with you. For now, I'm going to go see a movie. Later.
  9. Ophie, once again, you did it. You made more conjecture. I'm starting to feel like this is a struggle with futility Ophie. Get a hold of a dictionary, then an almanac. I don't care how old you are, or how young you are. You post nothing but hearsay and blasphemy and no valid arguments.
  10. Ophie will believe whatever his neverending imagination will tell him to think. We call it spin. Ophie, I hate to say it, but stop putting your foot in your mouth. Every post you make is worse than the next. It's obvious that you are a beginner to political discussion. When you post, please keep it to politics. You haven't done that. You've gotten personal with me. Thanks.
  11. Are you sure that you're not the one who is brainwashed. You just made the !@#$%^&*umption that I thought that muslims were responsible for Oklahoma. Then you told me that I'm a muslim hater. Stop with your allegations and !@#$%^&*umptions. I have muslim friends and peers who would be offended by your very words. You really have no idea how to hold a political discussion do you Ophie? It's like you just keep ranting on trying to justify your pontification. That's boring, and you're creating animosity. Bush didn't tell me to think one way or another. I think the way I think because I am me. Most adults are certainly capable of thinking one way or another and almost all mature people will realize that it has little to do with brainwashing. People do what they do because that's what they have determined is the best way. You make !@#$%^&*umptions cause you don't know any better. Please stop posting. Thanks.
  12. Do you have any substance at all? Again, I'll be ready to listen to your "perspective" when you can come across without accusations and !@#$%^&*umptions. I've made no inference to your background, or whatever you would like to call it yet somehow you seem to think you've revealed anything about me. Please reread what you post, consider it, and maybe we can talk. Better yet, you know where I am, be a man and come face me in the zone for a chat.
  13. Ophie, do you know what you're even talking about? Or are you like Dav full of myths and fallacy? It's called conjecture - please look it up and understand what it is. US soldiers otherwise known as the Army, is full of sad, dishonorable, homesick screwballs. Regretably some of these folks joined up simply to rake in money for college and little else. Well, I'm sorry to say but it is a military force, and military forces take action in battle. Unless I'm living in your bizzaro world where the soldiers are paid to stay at home. Michael Moore is 100% undeniably looking out for one person....himself. He will cut up anybody and anything for a buck. If you want to take advice from someone like that (which apparently you have) be my guest. While you are so concerned about making America great - why not work on your own country first? What a novel idea that would be.
  14. Dav, ugh. I'm not even going to respond. Everything you said is just conjecture. There is no historical validity to any of it. Please study. Thanks.
  15. If you really believe that, please contact your local mental ins!@#$%^&*ution and get checked-in. Ha, ya know what, I'm going to play the other side of this too.... Maybe that is how it will go, and ya know what, there's not a !@#$%^&* thing you can do about it. Hopefully the whole world will bow down to America really soon. gg. See how ignorant that is? Equal to your posts.
  16. The US government allows immigrants because it is a country that believes in equality and fairness for even the meekest of people. America is in Iraq to help Iraqi people who have a rational concern for human life secure a better means of life. Surely that's what you meant. Surely you haven't claimed that America is in Iraq simply to blow up and destroy things at the cost of human lives. Or did you? Spin is bliss to ignorant folks, whomever they may be.
  17. I have an even better idea. How about the US (being the supreme tyranny that it is) treats it's Arab immigrants the same way that sunni-muslims treat Americans in Iraq. Let's just start shooting anyone here who is Arab. When they are all dead then I'm sure things will be better right? Isn't that how it goes?
  18. Current actions being? Iraq? If we have to go back down the road of "why US is in Iraq" spare me. I don't care to listen to allegations which simply avoid the facts - that's called spin. How can free elections take place in a country ruled by a dictator? The only possible way is to subdue that person and his faction. There is simply no other way to do it unless you think he would be willing to give up power. Aint happening. Personally I would absolutely LOVE for the USA to not get involved in any other countries affairs. I couldn't care less for other countries, their resources, and their people anymore than they can stand us. I want the immigrants to go home, stay out, get off our back. But that's not what the US is about is it? You think that we just want to own everyone. That's furthest from the truth. I understand that Kosovo is starting to flare up again. There is another Clinton mistake. Now Clinton is going to try to get Kofi Annan's job and when he does, is that how you would like the UN to handle things? False premises? Sadly, it's by death that some resolve happens. Like it or not, look at the immediate change between Israel and Palestine since the death of Arafat. If he was shot dead back 15 years ago, thousands of lives may have been spared. But the US didn't go into Israel or Syria or Lebanon to hunt him down. That was a costly mistake of not taking action.
  19. They do that on a regular basis right here on this forum. BTW, if you don't like America Ophie, surely you should leave it. Or perhaps you could take a moment to consider some things. The sunni muslims who are a minority of like 30% are the main insurgents. Many of whom were part of the tyranical baath party led by Saddam. The majority of the ppl are shiite muslims who desire peace and seek to have representation. This is basically the grounds for the Jan 30 vote. If you are going to believe that this is all part of America's 'neo-colonialism' as some ppl will call it, perhaps you would be better with the facts. The facts are that Allawi's group is not winning the election, but rather a group of people who are completely Iraqi having little to no influence from America are leading. Half the people in this forum are Anti-US and will trash the US at any given moment. They will claim that the US is trying to take over this and that....etc etc etc. Typical liberal jazz - no patriotism, they are only here for one thing....themselves.
  20. This is going to sound stupid, but as of early last night my ping rates just starting going through the roof. Most of the zones I played were at 60-70ms now are at 190-200ms. I also got over 1600 attempts by 8 hackers using trojans like Bla, Deeo Throat, and Subseven - all from the same IP (212...) which is located in the Netherlands. Does anyone have any more information about this? I spoke to another SS guy and he said he was having a similar problem. I have gone ahead and updated my system with the patch recommended by Mackieman but it's not resolving the problem. Does anyone know what caused this. It is only happening to me while trying to connect to Continuum. Thanks for your help.
