This is how I would have replied... The e-mails that are in "bold black" mean to the program that you haven't read them -- or technically speaking, have not viewed or opened those letters. Select all the e-mails by pressing CTRL+A and then going to Edit in the menu bar at the top of the window and selecting Mark as Read. But yeah... :\ I wonder if that user was honestly being "stupid." Probably not. EDIT :: Who knows. My mom is sometimes like that (though not as obnoxiously blind as that).

If you use the information from my post, then you shouldn't have to worry about that. More directory servers are to be launched in the near future, using Snrrrub's directory server (as it was released a week ago).

Isn't that pretty you say, eh? Well to me and my eyes, I see beauty. On top of that, everyone is beautiful and handsome to my eyes (seriously), including the "ugly" ones. The only exception are those who ruin their beauty, like goth/anarchist kids. They look so nasty. :\

Come on. It has been more than 48 hours. If it takes more than 48 hours to propagate, then that should be a sign that something has gone terribly wrong. :\ Then again, that applies for nameservers. I haven't had experience doing a late renew. :S I'm tired of looking at her pretty face. http://pics.cnomy.com/596/masthead-main.jpg

It is based off of Gecko/Netscape. You can't change that fact. Regardless, this is a webdesigning issue that all webdesigners must face: cross-browser compatibility. The previous one was pretty compatible with both IE and FF, and would only bug up slightly on certain websites (like these IPB forums) -- but it wasn't and obnoxiously noticeable and bothersome as this new one is in my opinion.

This navbar is terrible. What happened to the previous version? That one was so much better and more compatible! O_o Just look at http://network.sscentral.com/ -- THAT doesn't even look right! See http://www.subdir.net/ and http://www.subdir.org/ -- looks totally messed up. And this new version looks obnoxious, blurry, and crammed.

Maybe you don't need it, but perhaps others do. Let them have their freedom (I want mine!).

Will larger maps be supported in Subspace2? It'd be neat if map sizes could be as large as 10240x10240 tiles or more. Or if even, you could make a *.lvl for each coordinate (like a1.lvl, a2.lvl, etc) and then have the game load them all and connect them. And I assume that Subspace2 will also support more tiles than Subspace (like 512 to 2048+, new and several different kinds of tiles too)? What are (that is in plan) the limit differences between Continuum/Subspace and Subspace 2? (ie. maximum LVZ/LVL filesizes, etc)

If you try to go out as far as possible, the client crashes. I noticed that hitting enter and then typing stuff would be messed up; like I would hit the Shift button and it would literally print out "Shift" and then I'd press the question mark and it would print out "Slash" after that ("ShiftSlash"). In Continuum, it would look like that plus with the >.

64-Bit Version + Optimization for Highend machines?
L.C. replied to L.C.'s topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
No offense or anything personal, but using that logic DCME is a complete and utter waste because SSME and several other map/tile editors existed before DCME was even started. DCME is high quality, professional material (and so is SSME). That skin editor isn't completely stable, lacks active development, and is obviously rough-draft quality. The GUI itself needs a ton of work (even though everything is in a GUI format, the work is at least a bit easier than doing it from scratch in notepad and Photoshop, but still has high levels of confusion). A program should help someone to learn how to do something, not just have buttons and a rough-draft quality GUI design that meets the bare-minimum to being able to produce skins. -
64-Bit Version + Optimization for Highend machines?
L.C. replied to L.C.'s topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
Perhaps you (Samapico) and Drake should start thinking about producing a 'suit' (Subsuit ["Sub-suit"] or Subsuite ["Sub-sweet"] or Drake Suit/e ["Drake Suit/Sweet"] ), sort of like how Nero and Adobe have their products branched out. Could strip some feature of DCME and turn them into individual/separate processes or applications to increase efficiency. Either Subsuit or Subsuite in my opinion would be a good name for the whole kit. - Map Editor - Tile Editor - Settings Editor - Skin Editor - Banner Editor (although sort of useless since Cont has a built-in, you could probably clone Cont's skin editor GUI just for the sake of having this in the kit) - Ship Editor (graphics / rotating) - Zone Tester (quick 'n' dirty way of testing your settings, map, ship rotation, banner and possibly skin) -
1. Are there any plans for a 64-bit version? 2. Are GPUs currently used to do most of the work in DCME? 3. Do you plan to have the grid thing rendered in 2D OpenGL? (For that matter, how is it currently rendered?) 4. Will there be a feature to define how much memory DCME should use for work? 5. Will DCME have multiplayer-mapping support (like remote !@#$%^&*istance, but allowing multiple mappers to connect together and work on the same LVL file)? 6. Are there any plans to have built-in tools (or perhaps "addons") for things like ship rotating, skin editting (for the Continuum menu), audio conversion (to convert audio files to wave), settings editor (with realtime/dynamic previewing), a "zone repository", Subgame/!@#$%^&*S configuration wizard, etc? 7. (Zone repository would be like, something that can help someone or a group of people to develop a zone and have it organized and compiled by the program so that to take the thing live or to testing groups, all that would have to be done is a simple "copy-and-paste".) 8. Have there been any considerations about changing the name "Drake's Continuum Map Editor" to something a little more broad (like "Drake's Continuum Editor" or "Drake's Tools" or "Subcraft" for example)? Some of my questions are stupid, and it has been a while since I've been around DCME.

Recently I dealt with this problem again, on my machine. Phase 3 did the trick, so I can guarantee that at least. Go into Safe mode as MikeTheNose suggests (I didn't know that; I've always used Pro edition).

Hrm, now Starlight seems to work perfectly fine after "repairing XP" once moving my harddrive to my new machine. I also did notice that the longer Starlight was on my system, the less the crashes seemed to occur. O_o Either that or a simple repair of XP fixed it (either because of my new machine or because my installation of XP Student was getting hazy).

The card is pretty good, although I cannot really confirm that for you since I haven't gotten around to throwing the high-end games at it like Bioshock and Crysis. I think I have Bioshock laying around somewhere, and I might (unlikely) have Crysis lying around as well. If I do test any high end games, I'll let you know of the results. ;o From what I heard, the HD4870 X2 is actually worth buying (as it is currently the best card for buck out there). Just read up on Hardforums about the card; plenty of news! :] From what I have heard/read, this card should be able to handle Crysis on maxed out settings on a system similar to or as good as mind on 1024x768 with minimal or no chugging (but I don't have any sources to justify this). I would recommend going to Google and looking up something along the lines of "HD4850 benchmarks" and finding a test build that is similar to mine if possible. Benchmark data of this card should be relatively similar compared to my system should be able to do. ;o On one note, unless you change the thermal paste to the Arctic Silver compound, the card will idle at about 71C and stress at around 79C to 85C (and yes, the card can handle it perfectly fine! If you install a decent third-party VGA heatsink, you can get the idle temperatures down to 30C and stress the card at 45C -- which means this baby should be pretty ok for overclocking >:] ). By changing the Arctic Silver compound, I reduced the idle temperature of a steady 71C to around or about 64C to 66C (but it still seems to go up to 84C on stress). Even if I had dialup, I still would have uploaded all that on dialup. I've done it before and I don't mind doing it again if I must; desperate men do desperate things sometimes, ya know.

Even after reinstalling Continuum with an installer? O_o Erhm, since you're trying to run it on Mac I don't know how I could help.

!@#$%^&*embly complete (New as of 8/11/2008 @ 12:28AM -6GMT) Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0494.jpgComment: Clean room! http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0495.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0496.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0497.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0498.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0499.jpg Overclocking Right now I have the CPU clocked at 3.2GHz (8x400) with the VCore voltage set to auto. 3.4GHz wasn't stable enough, but that's probably because I didn't set a VCore value or didn't set it high enough. I'm planning to try bring it back up to 3.4GHz or around 3.52GHz as soon as I get my VGA Heatsink and install it onto my HD4850. I get rather decent "overall" temperatures, and the CPU seems to like hanging around 100F or around 38C. Each core has a varying temperature, but they seem to be around 40C to 50C depending on the core and whatever condition it is that determines those temperatures. Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/cpuzhwmonitorxp.pngComment: By the way, I think the temperatures it shows specifically for HDD and CPU are fake. The temperatures shown for each core I think is legit though. Comments I can run Oblivion at maximum settings with natural environments mod (vegetation at 200%) and with the advanced water mod at a 1024x768 with a decent framerate from 45 to 60+ for the most part. Default Oblivion it will run perfectly on maximized settings @ 1024x768. Also runs PCSX2 (PlayStation2 Emulator) at more than fullspeed for Zone of the Enders, and about or almost fullspeed for Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (both produced by Hideo Kojima, producer of the Metal Gear Solid series). I can run GTR2 at maxed out settings on 1024x768 without detecting any chugging or lagging anywhere (so it must be well above 60). I can run Fraps on PCSX2 with a nice framerate of at least 45 -- but I think I was doing this with 3 Gb/s operations on my SATA-II disabled to 1.5 Gb/s SATA-I. I can also run PlasmaPong at 1024x768 with maximized settings and excellent framerates. To unpack an 83MB KGB archive that is 11GB extracted would take about 100 hours rather than several thousands on my old Socket A system (which you can find some old specs for at http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/systeminfo). Other than these I haven't really thrown too much at my rig to test it's capabilities. >.< I have to reinstall XP from scratch anyway because the Pro Student Edition is a piece of **** compared to my regular Pro version, and this time it will be XP64 instead of running off the old 32-bit architecture. I tried Vista for some hours through VMWare, and it's the GUI that killed me more than anything, which is why I won't use Vista (and image you can find that I put together and posted in http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1331917 would be located HERE; those hinder me from using Vista). More pictures are to come once my VGA Heatsink arrives. I wonder how I'll fit that in there.. :\ I'm sure I'll figure out a way. :] My rig weighs a hefty 45 pounds and is to weigh a couple or few pounds more in the near future with the VGA heatsink. I don't mind hauling this around (it's heavier than my Socket A machine). By the way, here's a Zone of the Enders wallpaper I put together thanks to this new rig (I couldn't run PCSX2 on my old machine): Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/jehuty-wallpaper_1024x768.png I spent around 3+ hours just writing this post up. Special Thanks I must present my gra!@#$%^&*ude to bassballboy, Cloud15x, Danny Bui, enginurd, farfromhome, gigaxtreme1, thore and tiraides for a tremendous amount of help. Water cooling leakage incident during install (Click here for thread about this.) Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0388.jpghttp://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0389.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0390.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0391.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0392.jpg Comment: This is what popped off by the way. I later found that specifically this short tube in the whole water cooling system was an eighth of an inch bigger than all the other hoses! I wonder why my cousin did that. D: I replaced it with a stronger 1/2" hose later on. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0393.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0394.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0395.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0396.jpg Comment: That's the amount of solution (coolant+distilled water) I had remaining in the water cooling system that I could get out after cleaning up the spillage. Hardly enough to fill the system. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0397.jpg Comment: This is the setup I will / am using. I presetup the whole system so that the hose angling would be at their most optimal position to produce the least amount of hassle, bending, and potential breaking/pop-offs. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0398.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0400.jpg Comment: Testing the system for leakage. Somehow I got it "untangled" from the presetup I had, and since I'm not good with illusions or puzzles...had a wonderful time trying to figure out how to put it back into that positon! (Sarcasm intended.) Dad figured out the illusion for me. Makes absolutely no contact with the HD4850, but temperatures are slightly (if not quite) affected by the HD4850's temperature range (idle and stress) of 70C to 79C. Mainly adds warmth to the closest portion of the radiator, and of course, some of the tubing (but the tubing probably doesn't get anywhere near as warm). The only hot component is the video card; the components around or near that don't make contact are either warm or slightly warm. Not enough to produce any ill effects or damages in my opinion. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0423.jpg http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/newrig-08032008/IMG_0424.jpg
