  1. You've made this post at least a million times on these forums. I bet we can expect some ":p"'s too.
  2. I am going to assume you see all the zones in your list as green with a live population count and the latency of all the zones. My question is: do you have any firewall or antivirus software installed on your computer?
  3. Hai gurlz, just finished this. http://www.joyunbound.com/2010/07/assembling-a-lenovo-g530-4446-24u-laptop/
  4. According to Aquarius, QuakeLive is flash-based. Since that's 3D and apparently pretty popular, Flash+ActionScript3 might be a good option. But I suppose what L Y N X and the point Dr. Brain made to me via IM about the difficulty in doing such thing is true.
  5. How flexible is Flash for online multiplayer games? Java? HTML5? I know Java and HTML5 are definitely capable. HTML5 might have some latency issues (but I might be wrong). I'm thinking we need to get a basic prototype (that actually works) up and running. Fo' real. EDIT: Is doc flabby's mobile client Java-based? Perhaps we could port that for PC and have an in-browser version.
  6. Anyone got an email or anything I can contact him on? Will he have it do you think? I will contact him. I'm not sure if he would appreciate me giving out how contact information (I don't remember how he stands on that).
  7. +1 And you can access your IM (Meebo) from literally anywhere that has an internet connection and browser, without installing anything. Also, the Windows dedicated server I mentioned, in this case, could be the very same one that BlueT and SSCV are hosted on. Therefore, I would be making use of resources and not wasting them. EDIT: Musn't leave out IRC, that would be unfair. IRC can be accessible via Flash/Java in-browser clients.
  8. http://thumb-culture.com/2010/07/22/alien-swarm-in-first-person-is-terrifying/ You can play the game in first person mode if you'd to do that over isometric mode.
  9. Solution: Run Firefox opened to meebo.com on a Windows-based dedicated server. Problem solved.
  10. Thanks, but I think I will stick with http://www.meebo.com/.
  11. http://store.steampowered.com/app/630 It's out and free. I think the reason Valve did this was to showcase Source engine and show its capabilities. I might be wrong on some assumptions here, but maybe Source engine could possibly work for Subspace? Heh, I don't know. And I don't know if access to the Source engine is free or not either. D:
  12. Damn! Come on people £10, somebody must have this, the amount of times this zone was reopened! FYI, that's enough for a RapidShare account. $$$ Will look in my backups later, but don't expect anything. I couldn't find anything for 17th Parallel oddly enough. :X

    H1N1

lulz My mom is a registered nurse and works at a very big hospital. The H1N1 hype is full of shit. She's told me of how there were a couple employees who were totally naive to it all, and about how they would determine whether or not a person needed it. Really, it's just full of shit. They'd say a person would require the H1N1 vaccine for literally any symptom, no matter how weak or strong. No longer did you have a fever, cold, migraine, high blood pressure, heart problem, or allergy, you had the H1N1 flu no matter what the case (those "couple" people were THAT naive and would be handing out shots left and right as if the world is going to end; and they believed it likewise too).
  15. I'll summarize my view on divorce as to why and how it happens in one word: selfishness.
  16. Well, do whatever you feel you must. I personally have better experience with custom built machines versus 'manufactured' machines. But again, do what you must. I don't think Newegg ships to UK, so you would have some trouble (I think) getting ahold of the hardware I linked to anyway. But maybe there is a "NewEgg Europe equivalent" -- if there is, I suppose someone at HF would know. Good luck!

EDIT: Also, if I were you, I would be reposting this thread at hardforum.com and seeking help on this from there.
  18. The green movement is full of crap. Why? In my opinion, all that "green" stands for is making current architectures and designs more efficient and optimal. This should, being Captain Obvious right now, be a natural step in engineering and works. :X Just my two cents. >.< EDIT: To me it seems more that "being green" is moreso a political and marketing scheme. Hehehe.. After all, it would be politically correct nowadays (with the way things have slid around on the table) to "be green," and it reinforces to the consumer the "betterness" of a product (thus the way to market products for this decade). Maybe 2010s will be the decade of "being green" and "efficiency." haha. "Being green" is the hip now.
  19. NetLimiter (use the free Monitor version).
  20. Whoa. This will be full of win.
  21. @Xog Haha you suck. Go clean your computer. =P
  22. Firefox would be soo much better if they implemented functions to lock down parts of the browser and for its configuration to be remote controllable/managed by a Class C IP address. This would work very well in a corporate/business environment, with these plugins (with the exception of NoScript)
  23. What Hakaku said, and... be consistent. Don't give up after Day 7 or Month #3. Sometimes it may feel like nothing is working and happening; ignore that feeling. If you are really passionate about what you are doing there, then you won't give up. On numerous occasions I have thought about, considered, and even partly acted upon getting rid of my personal blog (not one that anyone really reads or pays attention to or anything). But, I've held in strong. Holding in and not letting go will be one thing that keeps you alive, regardless of the circumstances. It takes time to build. You might not ever become a huge community, but then again you might not be a small one forever either. EDIT: You should do what you do because you are passionate about it. If you aren't sincerely and honestly passionate about it, then ...
  24. @Hoch Very well written! You have my kudos.
