You could do it that way if you wanted to(check pub only) because the repository is seperate from the server in that of folder seperation.

It's pretty much done, im just fiddling with launch4j and having a hard time.. should get something working for other people when i wake up.

For those interested in ripping off a texture, i used blender to make the metal hull in the flag, and i just did a render that upped the resolution of the texture with some 3D effects to it, exported as a image (Ambient Occlusion, Normal Maps, etc...) Actual Texture: http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum/Misc/HullFlagTex.png Normal Map: http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum/Misc/HullFlagTexNormal.png Node Screenshot: http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum/Misc/HullFlagTexNode.png

hmmm Cheese, I was just planning on having the program allow a hour up to a week's check.. Also, I kindof get what JoWie said about background, but threads are not a background running thing?

Okay guys, Almost done. I added file security to block out anything other than what continuum supports in lvz files, lvz and lvl files. The Client interface is almost done, I just need to finish up the personal options (like excluding zones from checking, that kind of thing) and tidying up. I will release this with the minimal server that only has a text window to show what is going on, or with a -gui parameter to turn off gui for people who use command prompts etc...
-
Yeah that is a obvious limit of the client, and there is no way getting around that for continuum, but you have 15 lvz slots to use right? or does the objects spread entirely in one map?
-
Well a cleansing option / remove non level files option would be neat. would also be good to flag from the server wether or not to cleanse a list of files too...
-
It can work. Also, aside from my laziness to quote others I reply to, I noticed something. Ever hear about the thing that if you put raw files inside a zone folder, the files work throughout the zone? (I mean of the core files ofcourse, sound or wav). So if i put 1000 bong noises from 1000 to 2000 (Hypathetically) it would work with this system very well. Continuum only supports 15 lvz file slots in each arena, which kindof degrades the idea of doing the above task, because i've tried to add about 50 or so in a sfxpack i had to spread out and eventually just used a fraction of.

Okay guys! I have the server mostly working for the conversation with the client, and the client the same thing. The only thing i have to do now is interface touchups and works, and transfering the file in chunks and the whole system should be in working order. The servers will sit on port 39949 btw... (TCP protocol)

http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum/Aphelion/AphelionLogo2.png?t=1317992328 How is this for a logo?
-
This came from playing in blender, and audacity.
-
wouldent look much different in the result, but if you wanted it over 16x16 would sound neat. Would be doable too.. (16 too just meh)

(SubSpace Download Repository) \-------------------/\-------------------/ This tool is designed to circumvent issues with the Continuum Downloading process, Which is designed at max 6MB files for 28.8kbps modems, with unlimited speed (through connection speed limits) and to download outside of the client, promoting more play-time and less wait time. The tool also enables developers to make larger modifications to arenas without the worry of limitations of size. Raw files can also be transferred to promote zone-wide modifications via %#'s (sound files) among other potential media asset modifications. To put it shortly: Convenient as hell. I have the zone exceptions list pointing Trench Wars towards my computer so downloading works there for now until others get setup for this. Report bugs here.

3 more days off now. Will work on stuff later tonight.

I honestly dont know,. Im not out of the woods with the error yet. Only the update thread works, but the collision thread is identical, and is accessing the same info to push a method, (and i cant seem to merge both because of delay on updates) so i dunno atm wut to do about that.

With the help of spidernl, the jvm crash is history. A tip for those who wish to use CopyOnWriteArrayList objects, please do not do this when running multiple threads: Subtracting at an thread not synced with another listening to it. Edit: oh and multiple for loops reading the info across threads.

I honestly hate the noise the decoy noise makes, so i went out to find a replacement. this is the result: http://www.sounddogs.com/previews/2109/mp3/147873_SOUNDDOGS__do.mp3

Taking a short break.

About fucking time they said "OH IT'S OUR PROBLEM. DERP."

Organizing the code, Doccing and commenting it, trying to fix the jvm crash issue i've had for a while (when not running in eclipse's debug mode) and then trying to throw something out there for people to play with and spot stupid things.
