  1. So I made a fun decision... Seeing as how the ships changed from the Sniper era to the Subspace era, and copied from subspace to continue, I think it would be best for me to simply apply a new shift in the ship models as the Sniper to Subspace era did. Since the source art is truly lost now as confirmed by the artist himself, Juan Sanchez, there's no point in holding on to that precision.   3. Well It's been a year (about) since i started the project. It isn't dead, and it's just that JoWie and I (mostly JoWie atm) are making a stable, properly working engine to make sure we dont have any serious issues in the comming days of our development for Aphelion. Please understand we are working to get this to a playable state as soon as we can. Happy 1st (on 26th) !

  7. I think the staff chat was concluded too quickly. It would only show to staff. I also think permissions need to be done via permission node (look up on how Bukkit servers do permissions on Minecraft Bukkit servers)

  15. Well, as for Aphelion, my goal is to replicate the client, removing all the problems and issues with the previous one, removing standalone and windows dependencies, and other things. Once it is replicated, there will be possibility to add more to it. essentially, there will be 100% possibility to modify anything needed at this point.
  16. I don't see Phoenix as a replica to subspace, because it is just way too different, though same genre setup. Aphelion's perspective is to clone subspace, and then further enhance it properly with client modification. I also plan to have it working on all platforms java provides, except mobile.
  17. heheh yeah, mac is a problem. Multi-platform is always a problem with this game.
  18. What I plan to do for the chat window is to make all chat types seperated, via chat channels into tabs, and messages as well. What I will also add are 2 more icons beside the close button on the tab to minimize (brings the bar down to the bottom) or to the top. I am separating the chat history expansion from the escape menu.
  19. I find a common problem within group projects extending another. Realize this, that you cannot interfere with lower levels of the game hierarchy without any form of corruption or issues happening. In Aphelion, I feel strong about my project remaining unbaised towards the lower level, the community level (not lower in a sense of value). In this client I am purely looking at it in the game level, so I can remain focused on the game level problems, and not try to fix communities instead. That being said, I see this inevitable in a community/fan ran setup.

The only things left to do on it is hook up the items to the ship you are playing, update with the ship, and dynamically set up hotkeys for each gauge bar, to allow the choosing between weapons etc. this system also gives potential to things like limited amo, and multiple types of the same weapon.

  22. No this is not dead. Working to work is all xD anyways I am trying to get to an organized situation, involving a few others, and seeing what is working, not, and what needs to be done.
  23. So I just had a really cool idea. What if we could manage to have a option to convert chat to a language specified using google translate? (wonders if they have a simple call and answer system for google translate)
