  1. If you want girls to reply to you, you did it wrong
  2. I'm 67
  3. I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it, You like to ...
  4. 1) Only possible with an actual safe zone... or you can have weapon-eating tiles like some places in center have, but bouncy stuff stay in there. An alternative would be using a 'No weapons' region. The players would still see their weapons fire normally, but others wouldn't see them. It would be really confusing and frustrating. 2) This adds an issue with door-warping. You could let the doors close on you to warp outside. This could be abused to escape with flags, for example. 3) Could work... but would have to be in an area where the corridor is larger, cause you lose a lot of space with 1 tile width on each side.
  5. Are all the bots spawned from the same machine? If I made a server, and hundreds of connections came from the same IP, I'd probably have it reject or drop connections as well... Or limit the total bandwidth going to/coming from the same place, even if it's 127.0.0.1 .
  6. Was that a question?
  7. Bots work fine on ASSS.... except very specific stuff, like alias checks and stuff.
  8. OOOOH... I was wondering why my RAM score dropped to 5.9 at some point. I learned about the winsat command line, and one of its options is to create a xml file of the analysis. so I did: winsat mem -log -xml "D:\winsat.xml" (I don't think the -log did anything, but whatever) And look what I found in this xml file: [...] - 5.9 - - 4227858432 [...] Bleh... I do have 4GB of RAM, but because of the 3 to 4 GB area being used by the video card and a bunch of stuff, I get less than that of available memory Oh, and I just ordered this beast. For the price (40$ off, and another 20$ of mail-in rebate), it looked like a great deal to me.
  9. Known issues: -Browse buttons do not work -Optional LVZ's (+lvzname.lvz) may not be copied to the 'maps' folder properly -The number of missing lvz files shown at the end is incorrect I'll get these fixed and probably upload to files.ssgn.net UPDATE: File was updated on files.ssgn.net
  10. I have created a very useful tool to migrate a server from Subgame to ASSS. You give it a folder with all the lvl, cfg and lvz files of your subgame server, and an empty folder that would be your ASSS root, and it will copy the files properly in a ASSS folder structure. It is not recommended to specify a real ASSS root folder, since some of your files could be overwritten. Use an empty folder, and the program will create folders named 'arenas' and 'maps' in it. 'arenas' will contain all of your arenas, while 'maps' will contain all the lvz files. It is coded in C# with Visual Studio 2010. The source is available. Example of a arena.conf file created: #include conf/svs/svs.conf #include conf/17th/default.conf #include #mist.cfg [ General ] Map = #mist.lvl LevelFiles = [ Misc ] SeeEnergy = $SEE_TEAM SpecSeeEnergy = $SEE_ALL [ Modules ] ; this key holds the names of the modules that will take effect in this ; arena. typical things to put here are modules for scoring, special ; game types, flag guards, etc. AttachModules = \ fm_normal \ points_kill \ points_flag \ points_goal \ buy Note that this will only convert arenas themselves, and does not deal with server settings (i.e. server.ini). Flag settings and other particular things that require specific modules are not guaranteed to be ported properly. UPDATE: File was updated on files.ssgn.net UPDATE again: Reuploaded here
  11. Try again
  12. Yeah... I'll make it crash again... it should fix it
  13. WEI won't give more than 5.9 unless you have a SSD... not even sure if a 10k RPM drive gives more than 5.9...
  14. It doesn't help
  15. Well, I'd say it would be hard for you to get a good ping from Australia, no matter what. The power of the machine shouldn't have any major effect on the ping, but it can change whether or not you get specced for "latency". I used to get specced for latency a lot because my CPU usage was spiking once in a while and the packets couldn't be processed properly. If you notice that your graphics are jumpy on your laptop once in a while, it could be the same thing. Mine was spiking every 10 minutes or so, and the whole thing froze for 1 or 2 seconds. Few seconds later I'd get specced. If you're using a software firewall other than windows' one, like ZoneAlarm or whatever, uninstall it and get rid of it. These things will add latency to everything, while being totally useless.
  16. Eventually, ASSS would need to be able to restrict specific versions of Discretion, so only official/unmodified/up-to-date builds are allowed. And a server could want to allow a custom client on their server, for some reason... This is probably heavily linked to how security will be handled though...
  17. fake bricks can be done with lvz relatively easily... but the easiest way would mean having them laid full-size (or a fixed-size), no matter where the walls are at... they could be under the tiles though. But you could easily notice a false brick if it goes through the wall, but then again, you can easily notice it when you go through it. Also, if player from team 90 lays one, it should appear as a brick from team 91... so the enemy feels they are protected, but they're not
  18. Oh... seems like you're affected by the infamous 17th Parallel Curse. I'll make the zone crash next time I think about it, and I'll pm you... it should fix it.
  19. We're working on that... An ASSS server was set up this week, thanks to Lynx. I'm working on converting all the current 17th files to ASSS, then we have a couple of ideas for pub to develop. We'll probably make the big move to the new server somewhere between these 2 steps.
  20. the point of decoy hiding energy is so the decoy cannot be recognized right away... and its impossible to make false information show up under a decoy, so no
