  1. There are some minor differences, the big thing though is seeing how on the teams actually does show and utilizes their sixth person the best. If a team utilizes that sixth person well, they can basically get an extra three points and still have a strong line up. And if the other team cant even sub out and get their fifth player in the game, its six point margin. So that bench grade might be even more important than the actual starting four grade. Wait shoot... I gave myself lowest grade, omg!!
  2. So yeah... My opinions are ABSOLUTE since everyone agrees with me, yay

    League map

Alright, so just played in it a little... Extra 2 cents. The barriers seem kind of tight. Not good or bad, but rather than having the barriers are bunched together in their given areas, maybe have one area tighter, another looser, and one super loose, etc that kind of thing. It makes laying mines too much of an overpowering tactic when you get there, which makes things like SoP (and possibly space mines) overused just to block them off, rather than having a player flank. It might just be me, but enter felt kind of .... Too open, was weird.. Like I had agoraphobia or something almost

    League map

Just the safes being awkward isnt a bad thing or anything. I personally dont think its awkward or anything, so that is more about preference. Since its Hyperspace, wouldnt it be more congruent to use the Hyperspace font that is also in the public arena right below center, rather than using cursive? Not that its a big deal. Aesthetically it seems fine overall, but in terms of functionality, it might be a little different. If we take a relative size like center in pub or something, not sure or anything, but isnt the area smaller than what this map is? So maybe just a decrease in size so it doesnt encourage running or anything and at the same time it lowers the open space in center. Speaking of center, why not use the Hyperspace/Continuum logo banner thing instead of the S eyeball thingy?

  9. Team NAMP: Mav HZ, linear-key, Ceiu, ipwn, neostar, Blocks, WhiskeyTango, 1d10t, Havoc_777 Team omni: Acer, sri, spidernl, enjoi?, CDB-Man, Adonibyte, Deathmonger, d1st0rt, Cheese! Team Unix: Sprinkle, Rivel, Raw-Tard, BZAP, zamin, choprock, ArcticxWolf, Hatemail, Dago El Taco Team Courage: Fireblind, Operation, 3vil, El Diablo, Dr. Snyder, glider, Zr, Wolf Dude, Beast ------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Alright, so this port of the topic will be in regard to the back end of the drafted players on each team, in other words the potential subs for the starters if and when they are needed. Team Namp: With his last four picks, Namp decided to go for a mix of active players. Blocks is active quite a bit, but does he have any viable ships for a league of this sort? Only time will tell, then again he can just make a ship, but that still doesnt answer if he has the ability to fight! WhiskeyTango said he was in, then out, then back in the league, this bipolar player is the second highest ranked experience player in the entire zone that was in the draft the other night. He does have the ship, but his insecurity might be his downfall. Hopefully the wife lets him play league games at night! Overall a pretty strong and potent lineup at the back end. The main concern is reaching that potential. We know that all of Namp's picks at the end are relatively active, other than maybe Havoc, so if they do need a super star substitute player, they probably have that there! Overall Bench: B ------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Team omni: With omni's last four picks he pretty much followed suit with Namp and went with highly active players, other than D1st0rt who tends to be in Hockey Zone playing some kind of football thing, rather than in Hyperspace working on his ships. Adonibyte was a very late entry into the draft, but was picked in the middle of the draft. Does this mean that omni found a hidden gem? Possibly even more of a hidden gem is Cheese!. With this pick, Cheese! actually has even more experience than WhiskeyTango and has some super upside, considering this was the second to last pick in the entire pick, that is quite a shock to see a player with that much item potential found near the end, but will Cheese! be able to mesh well with the other team is the biggest question. omni and Namp seem to be following the best way to go with their substitute players and went with highly active players with great upside, but between the two, which substitute group has not the potential, but the actual ships and ability to back it up? Overall Bench: B+/B ------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Team Unix: Unix decided to be like Sarah Palin, not just a flashy dresser, but a MAVERICK(!!!) and went with players who werent extremely active, but had some very good upside if they actually show. BZAP, Zamin, and Choprock are the main three who highlight Unix's bench, and those three alone could possibly be huge difference makers if one or two players dont show to a match and they do, but its that second part that is kinda tricky, them showing! BZAP recently just became a lot more active, Zamin and Choprock havent been too active as of late, but hopefully for Unix that changes soon. ArcticxWolf and Dago El Taco are similar too, they can be extremely active, but for some reason as of late they havent been, will these two be the downfall of Unix's team? Only time will tell. Currently though, the weakest link out of the entire bench is Hatemail, not too surprising that this player was picked second to last for Unix's team, but this player has some extreme potential, the real problem is making sure that Hatemail actually has a viable ship. I'm pretty sure that Hatemail has 5000 HSD and 0 exp. Overall Bench: B-/C+ ------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Team Courage: Instead of going for a bench that's extremely active or has extreme potential, Courage decided to go with a mix of the two. El Diablo, Dr. Snyder and Zr are the main three who are the most active for Team Courage with some good ability, maybe not the best, but in a 4v4 league setting, they can hold their own without a problem, but the one who might be the most potent for a substitute is gilder (not glider). He has some activity issues, not a whole lot compared to some of Unix's bench. Wolf Dude is pretty active, but will he be able to get trained by Courage and the others so that he has the ability to perform well? I think its safe to say though that Beast was somewhat forced upon Team Courage, as the last pick in the draft this player has some upside in terms of ability, maybe not a whole lot, he tends to name trade quite a bit, but I do not think any of his names have anything more than 5000 HSD and 0 exp. Unless some kind of weird event happens where they have to depend on Beast, this team's bench should be more than capable in holding down a fort if any starters for whatever reason werent able to show up. Overall Bench: B+

  11. Team NAMP: Mav HZ, linear-key, Ceiu, ipwn, neostar, Blocks, WhiskeyTango, 1d10t, Havoc_777 Team omni: Acer, sri, spidernl, enjoi?, CDB-Man, Adonibyte, Deathmonger, d1st0rt, Cheese! Team Unix: Sprinkle, Rivel, Raw-Tard, BZAP, zamin, choprock, ArcticxWolf, Hatemail, Dago El Taco Team Courage: Fireblind, Operation, 3vil, El Diablo, Dr. Snyder, glider, Zr, Wolf Dude, Beast ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Namp: With the first overall pick, he went with a surprising route and decided to pick Mav HZ. Not sure if this was spur of the moment due to some duels he had with Mav HZ prior to the LIVE draft, but whatever the reason not a bad pick at all. Mav HZ recently came back from not playing Hyperspace at all and makes a big splash getting the #1 overall pick. Next two team members were kind of a shocker too, one who isnt active all that much in Ceiu and one who doesnt like basing at all. ipwn was a rather early pick, there's a chance he might had gotten ipwn at a lower draft pick, but for a solid overall player not a bad position. Potential Starting 4: Namp, Mav HZ, Linear-Key and Cerium Overall: B+/B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team omni: With the second overall pick, omni decided to go with his first pick from the last draft and decided to go with Acer. Definitely a solid pick and not a surprising one either. Has a strong WB and the ability to back it up. Acer is most deserving of the second overall pick, more than likely he and omni connected with one another in between the first draft and this LIVE draft, so we'll see how the chemistry goes! With his next picks with sri and spidernl, these picks can be somewhat questionable. We have two players here who are quite active, but two really big questions are... Will they be able to make the times and do they have the ability to be deserving of the team's second and third pick? sri is a strong baser, but in regards to dueling I've seen very little experience. spidernl might have that ability, but will spidernl be able to make those matches? He doesnt have nl at the end of his name just only because the name spider was taken. With all of omni's picks, omni went the route of whoever is active should be on the team, other than D1st0rt, all of his players a4re pretty active. Cant find fault in that logic, but will that be enough to win the draft league? Potential Starting 4: omni, Acer, sri, and spidernl Overall: B/B- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Unix: With the third overall pick, Unix decided to go with the silent killer, sprinkLe. Not many know of his dueling ability, but if his basing ability is any indication this is going to be a good pick at the #3 spot for Unix. Both active and potentially full of skill, Unix found a definite starter in sprinkLe who can help carry a team. The next two picks were Rivel and Raw-Tard. Not sure if these were the wisest choices to make, mainly due to their potential activity in the game. Rivel has a hectic life outside of Hyperspace and generally isnt found playing a whole lot, but is becoming more of a mini Rareitanium in spec constantly overseeing everyone. Then Raw-Tard who has great potential might not be even able to make it to matches with his new found job at Hollister, (remember to laugh at him in game about that). Hopefully though, his next three picks will help buffer Unix with any inactivity that Rivel or Raw-Tard might have. BZAP is definitely very active, but does he have the ability to match? Zamin and Choprock are solid pick ups that late in the draft, hopefully Unix didnt pick just because she was in a rush since she was at work! Potential Starting 4: Unix, sprinkLe, Rivel, and Raw-Tard Overall: B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Courage: With the fourth and fifth picks Courage decided to go with fireblind and Operation. Two extremely strong picks, especially at four and five. These two could had easily gone up higher, but for sure would not had lasted long in the draft pool. fireblind is considered a top jav pilot in Hyperspace. Operation might still be working out the kinks in his builds, but he is not far from perfecting it, and once he does, watch out! 3vil's being Courage's third pick, there really is only one question... Will he be active enough? We know he has the ability, but his activity is definitely something to be worried about... So we'll just have to wait and see what happens! Potential Starting 4: Courage, fireblind, Operation, 3vil Overall: B+

If it were a 1v1 duel, I would completely agree with omni, but since it's a 4v4 style league I dont see why it shouldnt be allowed. A lot of times specials are used to combat the tactics that are unique to 4v4 rather than a duel, in a 1v1 you dont have to worry about random bombs or other opposing players coming at you at full speed.
  13. Not sure who or when this was done, but since I dont bother doing ?iteminfo to the majority of items, when did Exoskeleton get a buff with inactiveshrap?

I'm sure there have been other zones that have done 4v4 style leagues and have allowed specials in them.
  15. I think the entire point is to allow a team of 3 to potentially win, but at the same time making it more difficult for them. There are a lot of times when quality beats out quantity, the entire point of the penalty system was to make sure that teams didnt purposely put out a team of three because it was more advantageous, which can happen since one kill = one point. A team of three, most you can get from them is 15 A team of four, most you can get from them is 20 If your fourth member is sucky and is going to go 1:5 that's -4, why would a team do that? A -8 penalty just means that they have to beat out a team, so (20-8 = 12 max pnts) and not get completely eliminated themselves. A team that has the four on the other hand, the max points they can get is 15+3 = 18, and there's no guarantee that they'll get those 3 extra bonus points, so 15 could be their final score at half. 15 pnts to 12 pnts, pretty fair considering one team showed up and the other didnt.

If you get hit by trip thors enough to die 5x from four people, you deserve to be eliminated Btw, you're only allowed to carry seven thors at most, so trip thorring would only be able to be done twice by a single player at most. Repels arent that huge of a problem, it's kinda like an extra life, and if all players have them is it really that big of an issue? Let's not forget, you can use reps to stop runners too if you are in the right position. Stealth (not cloak since WB/Jav cant get them) isnt an issue really, mainly because of xradar and stealth isnt "that" big of an advantage. Not like you can green your specials back either and if you cant buy them back either, is it really that big of a deal? You have 10 mins to eliminate a team and there's nothing saying you have to eliminate them either.

Dunno what if anything can be done since it might need some kind of module, and if we wait for the module it might take a few months for that... Would rather have the specials, but you just cant buy or green anymore specials than what you bring in.

    Bricks

Not sure what the exact brick alive time is, but I do know that most players can easily set a brick up, die, ?tw into sector 8 then attach to the lanc and the brick will still be there. Not saying it will be a whole lot longer that the brick is up there, but to be able to constantly brick and brick and brick to hold off a team and the teams only option is to really either spam bricks also or hopefully get a lucky break and the enemy brick doesnt work. If the brick alive time were about 2/3 of what it is now, it would probably be useful to lessen the brick spam, the only drawback to this is when there are 2 or more brickers on a team. I guess raising the prices to what fields used to be or slightly less than what fields used to cost would be an effective way to try and lessen it so people dont use 5-10 bricks in a row. If it costs you 1k to use a brick, using that many would just neutralize your jackpot reward. Ships 1/2 are actually pretty popular to use in base games now. There are lots of small rushing ships, and I think they've become the preferred ship of rushers more so than mediums. The problem with repels isnt the time of them, the problem is the area of effect. It's just too large, a ship that's nearly two lanc lengths away shouldnt be able to push you away from it. Purchasing high power consumables which can "easily", not can, but easily influence the game if abused should be reserved for ammo depots or base 8. Bricks and fields are probably the two class of consumables which can easily influence the game with one single purchase, so going to sector 8 to buy them makes sense. Thors, if used in succession with one another can easily influence the game, but since it takes more than one thor to actually cause some damage and if spammed it can cause complete utter chaos in the game, which we have seen, the ammo depots are a logical position for them. Reps and bursts on the other hand are a lot harder to influence the game suddenly, not saying they dont, but it is pretty easy to counter repels and bursts simply by backing up a little or using your own repel. Antideath isnt really a problem, seeing as how they time from coming back to life is simply the death green live time, which is only about 5 seconds and to be fair, it cant be 1 second, unless you want invisible ships to run passed you then all of the sudden reappear.

    Bricks

Is there a way we can kinda nerf brick spamming? Its kinda getting absurd to the point that it utterly kills flag games and eventually becomes tetris wars. Possible options, some being extreme... -Get rid of bricks (extreme, and personally dont like even though I dont even use bricks) -Penalty for having the brick mount or holding a certain bricks so that its harder to lay at the least (like -1 energy or -5 repel) -Shorten the length of time the brick is there (right now the timer on bricks is about as long as it takes to ?tw to base and get more bricks) -Make bricks have holes in some spots.. Instead of ooooo make it oo oo so sparse brick would be even more sparse than it is now. Those are what I can think of for now..
