Because it's not Evoker that acts differently. Buy Evoker on a Lancaster and you'll find that people stay attached.
-
Probably not as much as the lanc itself could have done by moving more quickly, to be honest. The positron gun would be better off un-attached behind the rushing lanc (or better yet, using a rushing ship as well).
-
Actually, I understand where cxc is coming from. I messed around with a center lanc a reset or so ago, and if you're using a sublight that slows you down when people attach it's fairly annoying to have to spam f7 constantly.
-
It's pretty neat. I'll have a look at it next week considering I'll have my spring break then. It shouldn't be too hard. The most annoying part is probably filtering unused item types out, since there's item types for like 3 different item sets in the database.
-
HSCore currently isn't really made for this. There's like 30 item types, and people will probably expect their "?shipstatus -c" to make sense, which it wouldn't if the command used the item types in the database. Hardcoding the "Categories" sounds like a fairly bad idea.
-
You'd still need to shuffle or at least change teams somewhat. Even though that doesn't happen right now. Teams are generally something like 18v4 by the time a flaggame ends.

The repository is one big backup in this case. It isn't hard to fix.
-
I did test these things, in fact I ran into the issue that HS is having right now when ColdfireX used the 'newest version' of HSCore in his test zone. That's why I didn't ask Dr Brain to recompile after making these changes. I was planning to properly fix the issue that I added the lock(s) for and then push to the repository before asking for a recompile. In short: didn't have time, crashed the zone, 'Doc recompiled to fix the zone, zone ended up with "broken" HSCore.

Steps to fix the zone: 1) Go to the hscore repository. 2) Look at the recent commits, two of them I believe, to the hscore branch. They both are about me modifying a lock. 3) Undo these commits in whatever way you prefer. 4) If you can't push to the repository, send them to Dr Brain right here on the forums. 5) Ask Dr Brain if he can recompile. 6) Zone is back up and somewhat stable again.
-
Probably correct. I should've "undone" those changes to hscore, considering the lock doesn't even fix anything.

I sound confident because I know that the logs confirm my story, and not yours. Deleting parts of logs would be fairly obvious, as every entry is timestamped, so you'd end up with a hole in those logs. Not to mention that staffers like Noldec (and myself) keep their own client-side log, which would not match the server logs. Which would in turn raise suspicion against me, which would most likely make me end up axed. Not worth it, really.
-
Heh. You're making it fancier every single time. Threatening to ban you? Really? Please do point out to one of my fellow smods where in the server logs they can find that. Your own logs, which are quite likely made up on the spot, will not suffice here. I wonder how that works out for you though. You get annoyed with liars? That explains your constant terrible mood. You're annoyed with yourself 24/7. I would like you to remind you of the following: If you have a problem with a (jr)mod, go to an smod. If you have a problem with an smod, go see a sysop like d1st0rt. If you have a problem with d1, you're probably already screwed. You could go see Dr Brain so he can personally tell you that, however. I'm sure he'd appreciate it. Posting nonsense on the forums just means I'll have to move this topic to trash talk sooner rather than later, or simply close it. Edit: Consider this your last chance as well. Start using this topic productively, rather than for your personal anti-Spidernl vendetta.

I'm still eager to work on this, but I don't really have time. I'm prioritizing real life right now. The time I do get to spend on HS I spend on the new item set.
-
You're quite unreliable. You didn't show up for a 2v2 tourney you asked me to make a news item for, claiming there was nobody there (even though there were probably enough interested people for some 12ish teams). Your constant lying doesn't really help in general anyways. You've been claiming I didn't allow you to host a tourney for some weeks now, even though I gave you the go ahead probably something like a month ago. Everything you said about staff is 100% accurate and true? You don't even have a clue what it means to be staff. I'm sure staff have made mistakes in the past, and they will surely do so in the future as well. They're humans after all. But they're not being paid for all the hours they spend trying to keep the zone fun for everyone (except for chronic rulebreakers, that is). Either way, the idea isn't new. In fact it's something that might very well happen in the near future. It's good to see that you didn't make this post for the 'greater good', though, but just because you want some power to hold onto. That much is clear from you trying to defend yourself.

Man, this Player Killer guy and his way of convincing people to do things for him. Real talent right there. Also: Bolded the part that explains why, should this idea be implemented, you will personally not be one of the "hosts". Edit: Also, I doubt laziness has anything to do with staffers' reasons (not) to host. It's quite a bit more likely that it has to do with the fact that HS' population drops to near zero whenever an event is hosted, taking the rest of the day to recover.

Feel free to find someone with lots of free time and fairly decent coding skills.

You people can't really be this naive..

This isn't happening. We don't have enough pop, I don't like the idea, and it's more work than privs to implement. Come up with good ideas for privs instead, please.
