  1. Indeed :sos:
  2. What is baldies?
  3. Hmm... well, looks like you do indeed have some UDP packetloss that occurs from time to time. Some tests show near zero, some show quite a bit. I'm afraid this is bad news. This indicates that most likely there is a faulty/super-congested router somewhere along the line. There is really only one thing you can do: bug the ISP. Try to get a technician on the phone, not just some customer service rep. Of course that's difficult with a big ISP... The ISP probably did not test UDP, since it is a rarely-used protocol. Most likely they just tested the raw data stream between your computer (or router) and the next immediate hop. This problem could come from any of those hops. Perhaps not even a hop under your ISPs control. But still, letting a technician know should speed up the fix, even if it is some router in the middle of nowhere. These things do get fixed when they're noticed but it's just that most people don't know how to notice this, so the tech support call centres aren't really equipped to handle these reports... You could try calling a tech over and explaining the issue to him (or showing him this thread) but I'm not sure whether he would be able to help you... at least over here the technicians don't know anything about internet, they just hook up wires to modems...
  4. I have nothing against HTML but at least make a rule saying no embed tags...
  5. The last part of the server.ini file should have port=4991, make sure that is so.
  6. Ok, here is the test program. You'll need .Net Framework 2.0 to run it (you can get it from Windows Update if you do not have it). Let it send a few thousand packets and post the statistics it gives. Try with different sizes, see if you notice any changes in the packetloss depending on packet size. Play around with it and let me know what it shows. Tester.zip
  7. Wow, I never noticed that post on feb 19 Hmm, that opensvn site looks interesting Anyway, Sama and Drake, let me know if you want a repository on my computer.
  8. Alright, time to give good old UDP a test then. I'll try to throw together some simple UDP test program by tomorrow evening.
  9. Indeed. Hmm, hey if you DCME coder guys want to use Subversion then I have a server running on my computer 24/7, I could create a repository there for you if you want...
  10. Don't hit start *snickers* (Sorry, no idea how to fix it)
  11. Your IT friends are idiots The routers are not down nor are they giving you any packetloss, that's just what I would call a "measurement error". The trace shows 0% packetloss. C2S packetloss, hmm? Well, I assume you're not doing any insane uploading that would eat up your upstream? Could be that your ISP is giving UDP packets (which Continuum uses, normal internet consists of TCP packets) special low-priority treatment. Happened to me once, for a few months UDP was totally screwed. I guess enough people complained and it got fixed for me. Are you having this problem with every SS zone? Try some random small-time zones. Oh yeah, have you tried another computer on the same connection? What kind of a connection are you on? Have a router? Try without it. Let me know how the small zones work and talk about the network configuration. If that doesn't give any insight into the issue, I'll whip together some UDP testing program that might provide some.
  12. Those two hops are not a problem. Call them a measurement error, that would be most fitting. Aside from that non-error, the trace looks great. What problems are you having?
  13. Thank heaven! You are a god, mx (I had a problem since people like Paine use them to embed music and videos and such) (I hate things like that, deviates from the purpose) (I hate extra trinkets) (and yes, this does attract some attention... some unwanted attention from spammers like... paine!) (it's like the old saying: "can't say something nice? STFU" in a way )
  14. Die, MX. Seriously, wtf? This is one of the most annoying things that can be. Haven't you read "how to run good forums"?
  15. What the flying !@#$%^&*?!? I want to kill someone. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Anyway, speaking in a more hushed voice, I noticed Paine has a media player embedded into his signature. I assume nobody would actually be kinky in the head enough to intentionally allow this (board update caused it?), so could someone correct this? Embed tags have no place in signatures... *shudders*

    Hi All

Good, good. All the newbs are here Although I see nobody in the zone. What The !@#$%^&*?! -_- I am angry. Get your !@#$%^&*es in there so I can kill you! Especially you, tm!
  17. There actually was a thread like this... somewhere here... I can't find it

    Subspace v2

What distort said Anyway, I've been very ill for 3 weeks, but I'm better now. And I have a burning desire to code Unfortunately, I'm a bit... a lot behind in schoolwork due to my illness... can you say "GAH!"?
  19. I believe he's looking for someone to make him a tileset No idea there, though. Ask around in zones, maybe you'll find someone...
  20. Wow, lots of activity here
  21. Nobody can, which is why this is indeed great news
  22. Sure, just fork over some dollarinos
  23. The FAQ has a real nice post about Continuum not loading: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...view=getnewpost It does not specifically discuss W64, though. I have not heard of anyone running Continuum on it, so you might be in relatively uncharted territory... I wonder if the 64-ness could cause Continuum to go nuts...
  24. You have to use LVZ for that. www.shanky.com/server is the best place to look for server help. [Also, topic moved]
