  2. this is late, but if it means anything to anyone statically wise, i stopped playing after it was changed. Zone resets have always put me off. Then you offered x2 to compensate and i bit the bullet and kept playing. But with this reset, i don't feel like grinding to get to 20k for a zone i like to play occasionally. I know resets are nothing new, just giving my perspective. I wish, with all my heart that the zone could be more innovated so they don't need to have resets to repopulate. Best of luck, Sketter aka Swaggers

  6. It isn't about pride. It's more about legality. It's was already looked into.
  7. For someone who has insight about the development of this project - It will not carry the name Continuum, or Subspace. The goal (which has never been amended) is to take the game away from it's static state.

  14. I think the results of this poll clearly show that there is no single problem with HS that people aren't playing. People come for a variety of reasons and their reasons for not playing now are just as varied. Instead of saying the problem is lack of high end content, I would say that adding high end content addresses as specific issue. The problem we have is lack of resources (ie skilled developers with time). Every idea that comes down the line has to be filtered through this bottleneck. We need to be considering ideas that don't take a ton of coding to complete. And really the best ones to determine if there's gonna be a ton of coding involved is the developers themselves. If we're going to come up with any solutions, a cooperative attitude is needed. Developers shouldn't be overly critical about bad ideas, but simply explain logically why they won't work. And the rest of us need to be respectful towards the developers and come up with ideas that fit within the constraints they provide. I've seen a few new items pop up recently. It's not impossible to have your ideas implemented in hyperspace. Yes, i did say at the end that there are a variety of reason why people are not playing. Perhaps i wasn't clear enough on the point you quoted. It shouldn't have been an implication that it was the only reason - it was meant to address the key factor of being able to max out in 3 months with nothing left to do.
  15. Think about what would happen without a reset, before posting silly things like these please. Unless you honestly think that a zone where everyone has '$toomuchtospend and a ridiculous amount of experience in their account' is fun. Must be great to start in such a zone. People instantly give you millions, and then all you have to do is play for a few weeks to get the experience to spend it. I'd argue the only thing that stopped the zone from dying years ago is the reset. I wounder how RPG games make it with out their resets then. Talk about silly things. We all know resets are a temp fix. It fill in a bit of freshness before the zone reaches an apex to which then a player can reach within months with nothing more to achieve. (another reset?) To much to money to spend? You hindered your own point when you said "play for a few weeks to get the experience to spend it." I have never had a problem with having the funds to pay for my own items. The zone flag games and money kills already reward at a generous rate, by when the time you have the exp, you have the money. This only doesn't work of course of you prefer to use more then one ship - but even still - you would still have the funds to start a second class ship and to add a few buffs it, by the time you first ship is buffed. The problem is lack of high end content. When i got to 20k exp (even at 15k) in 3 months when i was hardcore, that was it. There wasn't anything more to work towards (of potential value). All i could do was flaunt around in the ship(s) during flag games, for that was all that was left. There is merit to be said about the resets. It does give the zone a second coming (how many has there been anyways?) where as i said, will give you the freshness. But there is something fundamentally wrong with the idea of "there needs to be a reset, to save the zone." It's short sighted, not long term, and perhaps means that the achievements of the zone (as great as their are) are short, and thus short lived. To imply/state that comments made about dislike in resets, with dismissive, and judgmental remarks, is very narrow minded thinking, potentially structurally damaging, and limiting. You have people here that tell you a reason why they don't play, and you dismiss their answer as if it's made up, and left for other reasons. Or so as implied. You have a variety of reasons to why people don't play. It's not a pick and choose which you think are correct.
  16. So the political/world discussion forums are gone - have you also deleted all the threads? I can't seem to find any of them. I wanted to re-read over the one about the Canadian election. Looking forward to a reply. Thank you! Edit: Never mind, i found it. Sorry!
  17. You need to throw in there; I worked to hard on my last build - i don't feel like remaking it so i lost interest.
  18. I much rather have SSGN - as long as it's fitting. SSGN (SubSpace Gaming Network) means to me of a hub where all data and public information (and perhaps gossip) is shared and viewed. The problem is this key is insignificant because every zone runs their own gig. (the larger ones) And history as shown (for a lack of common sense, to much pride and well accompanied with paranoia)no one is ever willing to give an inch. The game is also to far in age and missing modern substance that to go in that direction now, just may go unfulfilled. I know how i sound. It's not that i don't care, i'm just consciously aware. As to going to a whole new domain. Can you give me the benefits that it will give you that SSGN doesn't? It just sounds like adding a new layer(or fragment as Wormhole Surfer nailed it) on something that should be kept simple considering it's condition. Are you giving yourself work because it needs it? Or because it's something more self fulfilling? Just my gibber jabber. Sketter
  19. We really need to find a new game to play. I've started playing SC2 for the past year. Lots of fun!! I know what i'm talking about if off topic, but when out of the scene for a year, come back and to find petty threats like this.. really? airing out our lives on a forum? There really is much more beyond the keyboard. I rather see the forums go out gracefully then out with dramatic affairs. Meh..
  20. Once in the shower. (it quite convenient) And before going to bed - but I'm not as consistent by end of week, because I'm not always sober enough to pull it off.
  21. I'm wondering if this reset will actually make a difference.
  22. I'm I the only one a bit concerned here? http://stats.sshq.net/zone/13/SSCE_Hyperspace
  23. so if people are still interested in this, would you want to see this still go forward? There have been some talks if people are still interested in this structure of this league.

  25. I've stopped caring about all this creating zone stuff and politics and just play the game and zones for what it is for the past 2-3 years on and off, and when i read all the stuff going on i can't help but giggle at some of the posts. People are right when they say that you end up have a different perspective of things when you see the game for what it is and take a back seat to all the drama, and how unnecessary this all really is. We're not dealing with peoples lives or running some type of for profit organization. If anything been proven is that this game isn't profitable because even the mock version of this whole game (ComicRift) has it's own problems. And even the owners that obtained the rights to Subspace TM after virgin gave it up (I believe it was BDE) even threw in their towel. So when watching people throw their wight around with the suggestion of legal entitlement, is entertaining. And to watch some people succumb to this, makes this game into a decade long sitcom. I want to give props to Brain on his comments above. Same people, same roles, same problems, same drama -you got it- same sitcom. What made me giggle the most was this guy who has no involvement in all this but has a % of chance in being the owner requesting/demanding that at will he can tear down, shut off other peoples work. Really? Are people going to yield to that? It's an invitation for future problems. (in this game, with all our colorful people, that's extremely easy to come by) Zones dead, just make a mock of version of the zone, give it a different name. No one can then make a compelling argument to then take it down since there is no zone to convey a viable complaint. This game is getting to complicated for it's dying age.
